I first fell in love with David Cook when he sang “Hello” to me with brooding affection. Don’t get me wrong. I like David A. But I LOVE David Cook.
You can imagine the sounds and phrases that uttered from my mouth when I get a call from my friend Katie saying that more than likely, my DVR cut off right before Ryan Seacrest announced the winner. Luckily, my sister was able to play “David…COOK” for me over the phone. Right before her DVR cut off.
So there you have it. Big Rocker David wins AI. Kristi wins the disco ball. Jim’s proposal thunder was stolen by Andy. Our Upper East Side friends are off to the Hamptons for the summer. Plus, Ugly Betty and Grey’s are DONE tonight. What’s a girl to do?

Oh, I am so glad that you love this show too!! I don’t know if you can write “recaps” of a show like this, but I’d love to hear your morning after thoughts about it. My DVR list looks so lonely, the only things on it are the Bachelorette and now So You Think You Can Dance. Cannot wait to see what crazies will be on tonight!!

I can’t believe I am commenting instead of working and I can’t believe that I actually watch these shows (being a non-gay, married male with multiple children), but I have to say Cat Deely is the best host.

As a random musing, I have recently determined that the quality of shows is directly proportional to how uncomfortable they make me watching them. That is why the bachelor is so great, because I can sit there looking down (too uncomfortable to look) and listen to the train wreck happening and wondering what the dude or the chick is going to say to their friends after THEY see it…
OMG, mine cut off, too! Literally, Ryan said “Aaaand the winner is…David Cook,” and my DVR’s “do you want to delete?” blurb popped up. NO, I DON’T WANNA DELETE. I want to see my David Cook get his moment of glory! I’m with you, I think David A. is very talented and as cute as a button, but David Cook? Sigh. Be still my beating heart. Such talent. I went and bought practically every single he’s performed on iTunes.
At least we still have DEE-AHHHNA and her horrible manish faux Southern accent. I can’t stand her; I was more of a Jenni girl.
I am with you. I can’t stand DDHAHnna! Ugh! I hated her during the Bachelor and I have no reason to watch the Bachelorette this season. Although I did watch the part where Jenni came on and helped after you wrote about it Lincee. Had they done The Bachelorette with Jenni, I would’ve watched in a heartbeat.
Hopefully they’ll have someone worth while the next time around.
David Cook on the other hand totally lights my fire and I was thrilled to see him get his moment of glory!

my dvr did the same thing. winner is david…then cut off. which was followed by my yelling “which one?!” at the screen. within an hour it was up on youtube so i could watch the excitement play out. but so very happy for him. i’m a sucker for the sexy rocker voice
See, I just moved, so I don’t have my DVR set up yet, nor do I have a VCR. I got home at 10 thinking I had missed it, but when I turned on the TV, I got to see our boy in his moment of glory without having wasted two hours of my time! TEAM COOK all the way!
I actually watched it live since it went off at the decent hour of 10 instead of the ungodly hour of 11 (still have kids in school who need to get up before the crack of dawn) and have kids so don’t have so much of my own life. Therefore, actually stay home and watch t.v. instead of going out during the week…but fun was had by the whole family as I picked Cook and my youngest picked Arch so we battled it out and even canceled each others’ votes out I am sure! So happy that Cook won and I will get his CD. I’m old school that way.
Yay for SYTYCD!!!!!! It’s my second favorite reality show… and I think you all know which show is my favorite!

I LOVE David Cook and I am so glad that he won, buy a whopping 12 million votes no less! I also LOVED his guitar hero commercial. It was so cool, I have watched it multiple times on you tube today. David A’s was ok, but he had boxers on and my man David C had on the briefs.
Did anyone else notice that David C’s shirt was totally unbuttoned after the first couple of buttons at the top. I noticed that you could see his tummy in one of the shots, thought that was funny. Also, did Michael Johns have the tag still on his shirt down at the bottom?

PLEASEEEEEEEEE do something with So You Think You Can Dance…I live for your blog on the Bachelor (and Bachelorette). I always come into work the next day with something to say, especially after the hilarious auditions these first weeks! I know you are busy, but it would totally make me day to see you blog on the details on SYTYCD.
I almost didn’t watch because it was going to break my heart to see David Archuleta win over MY David Cook. Both are great singers and deserving of a win but I will buy DC’s CD but not DA’s. DC CD – match made in heaven….I was shocked that the the tweens and grannies didn’t rack up the votes. And when they announced the winner had won by 12 million votes I was SURE the tweens and grannies had twarted me. But I was so happy to see my guy win!
I too think you need to blog for SYTYCD – even if you just give your opinion as a “4th judge”!
I would like to also throw in a beg for you to blog on So You Think You Can Dance. I was going to opt out this season, but am SO in if Lincee blogs! Better then The Hills, as much as I want to stalk everything Lincee watches, I can’t bring myself to watch Spencer’s creepy flesh colored beard…

We were on board with The Archulator in the beginning. Then all of his songs were the same, and it got old. Also, if you’re pops is the kind of guy who gets kicked out of the backstage areas of Star Search AND American Idol, he might need to tap the breaks just a little.

We’ve never watched SYTYCD?, but might start now. I was just saying to my husband last night that the summer nights of Scrabble and Monopoly are almost back since there’s hardly ever anything good on TV now. Next week seals the deal: the 2-hour finale of Lost (my favorite show).
Some Guy – I completely agree with you about Amanda. She looked so disinterested to be there, and just plain uncomfortable.
Some Guy, I don’t think Amanda goes on tour; isn’t it just the top 10? I missed Idol on Wed, so maybe they addressed that. But that would mean Amanda and the stripper guy won’t be on the tour?

I’m a happily married woman who can’t help but swoon whenever David Cook is on screen. Not only is he super talented and physically appealing, but he seems like such a genuinely nice guy. All the interviews with him and Little David kept underscoring the fact that they really got along and seemed to be really impressed with the other. This season of AI redeemed itself! Now I’ve got the find the iTunes performance with Cook and ZZ Top!
And I thought SYTYCD was great last night! From the first girl (who didn’t start dancing when they cued the wrong music) to the last guy (couldn’t get enough of the insane contortionist/pop-and-lock dancer), it’s setting up to be a great season!
Lincee, you really should do a recap for it. The Hills was a nice idea, but it’s on hiatus and you were never that into it to begin with. Why not cover something you’re passionate about? Tuesdays AND Fridays with Lincee would be swell.
OK, paige’s post read my mind! At the beginning of American Idol this season i ignored David Cook because I didn’t like his shaggy hair…but low and behold, dude gets a haircut and HELLO Senor Sassy Pants!!! I love him, love his voice and love how sweet he seems. David A can truly sing his butt off, but David Cook’s voice is rediculously sexy. Yeah, um, sign me up for more of him. I haven’t been this worked up since I hit up the Backstreet Boys concert in Dallas many moons ago. Seriously…am I 12? Do I have Teen Beat pictures hanging up in my bedroom?
Sidenote: I’m super excited for SYTYCD…waa hooo!!!!
American Idol lost me last season with the whole fnale going over and getting cut off by my Tivo. I was furious that I watched faithfully all season and then….”do you want to delete?” I am not quite sure why they can’t fit the finale in during the scheduled time. Seriously. I am done with AI.
SYTYCD is great!!! I am so glad that you watch it. It is the only thing worth watching in the summer. I look forward to your comments.
Seriously… Paige and Beek – I totally know how you feel. I’m a happily married mother of a 1 year old and David Cook makes me crazy. I have a school-girl crush on him. It feels so wrong. I feel 12 as well. I find myself searching the internet for info on him. Its ridiculous! He rocks though. Voice is so sexy! yummy!
