Shalom from Tel Aviv

Shalom and good evening worthy friends! I am sitting in the lobby of The City Hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel at this very moment. Just had a nice dinner of all white/yellow foods and it was good. I think hummus is going to save my life on this trip. Can’t say the same for all of the olives that keep following me wherever I go.

Walked…that’s right…WALKED down to the beach to watch the sunset over the azure water of the Medeterrainian and it was glorious. Here I am dipping a toe or two in the sea.

Please do NOT judge me on my appearance. This is after 15 hours of travel across the world. Stuck in the middle on the 10 hour flight from Newark. And then a nice hot bus ride to the hotel. Straight to the beach for sunset. I’m tired. I probably smell. And my stomach was rumbling. But this is an experience of a lifetime and I’m not going to miss out.

  1. Deborah Said,

I am so jealous! I was stuck in an office in front of my lousy computer. I would love to travel the world…even if I had to take HUET!!

    Enjoy!

  2. Michellyoh Said,

Well, let’s see. . .today I walked my dog (Lola), came to work, checked my mail, worked some more, did the crossword in the back of OK Magazine, did a little more work, talked to a co-worker for an hour, worked some more. I pretty much only work in 15 increments!!! Beat that!!!!!! LOL

I am so glad that you have this website so that we can live vicariously through you!

  3. Sue Said,

today i played a game on scrabulous. that’s about it. I want to go someplace cool! :(

  4. LA Said,

    How amazing!!

  5. Tammie Said,

Oh yea? I sorted some laundry, attended a preschool end of the year party with 11 two year olds and then came home and did more laundry! So there!

    Tel Aviv? Pashaw.

    =)

  6. Aggie Fan Said,

Sat at my desk reading your blog and combing Craig’s List and MySpace…..dang I’m bored today….oh yeah, that is in between working….I also work in 15 minute increments…happens when you have ADD…it’s the only way to survive in the workforce!

  7. MC Said,

ooh, i’m jealous!! oh..and dont worry, you can really only see the outline of you but I’m sure you look fabulous (not as fab as the gumbi suit though!)

today i overslept, worked for about 15 min, got coffee, worked again and then goofed off on the computer. i took a long lunch cause i did a little shopping for an upcoming trip and instead of working for another 15 min i decided to read your blog (even though I love green beans)

    Hey Sue, what is scrabulous?

who else is psyched about the Lost finale tonight!!

  8. Camels & Chocolate Said,

It looks beautiful. Enjoy your trip!

Today, I didn’t leave the house, nor did I remove my pajamas or brush my teeth (ew, I know). Working from home is a glorious thing!

  9. Cat Said,

I am so jealous of you! and jealous of everyone who works at home or travels for work! I’m at my desk looking outside at the beautiful blue sky counting the minutes until the weekend…and wishing I was outside!

  10. Cat Said,

Scrabulous is an online scrabble game right, Sue? I’ve tried playing but the computer is too dang fast for me and hardly accepts my words…and the words the computer come up with are unbelievable. I can’t figure out how to change it to beginner level.

  11. MrsMillerTime Said,

Can I have your job? We could do an even swap!!

  12. addy Said,

Oh wow, awesome photos. I think I need a job like yours that lets me go awesome and new and exciting places. Have a good trip!

  13. Susie-KC Said,

I went to Jazzercise at 5:45am…..came to “work” (I do the 15-minute increments, too)…..played in the forums on Plentyoffish.com (singles site)……had lunch with my family at Cerner where my brother-in-law works…..ordered letterhead……back to “work”. In an office. With no window. Unless I lean over and look out the window of the attorney across the hall.

    Yyyyaaaawwwwwnnnnnnn…………

  14. Jill L Said,

I was surprised with a Starbucks coffee this morning while reading the paper in my PJ’s, watched the crew from GMA do some salsa dancing, changed a couple poopy diapers, paid bills and organized my budget, showered, went to an awards assembly for my 6th grader, then stopped at the bank, Sonic (for Happy Hour, of course) and then to the store to get a few groceries thinking I’d been all productive and then I get home and read you’re in Israel. I was so jealous until I realized you probably didn’t get to change poopy diapers today, did you?! HA!!! And I was about to be depressed that you’re doing more exciting things than me today….

  15. Emily Said,

I SO do not feel bad anymore for not working while I am at work….I was starting to feel a little guilty about it, but not anymore when I know there are others who only work in 15 minute increments like myself! :)

#13 - my sister works at Cerner in KC too.

  16. Rach Said,

I will be going to Israel in a week and a half also for a Holy Land tour. Please write a recap so I can read all about it before I go! Have a great time!

  17. stephanie Said,

    seriously, what do you do?

  18. webMAN Said,

Lincee does PR for a company in Houston, when she isn’t playing “Alias” at her REAL job. Who knew the CIA had a writing class?

Of course you all would know this if she WOULD EVER GET ME HER BIO AND PHOTOS.

I’d also like to set her up on Twitter.

    Israel. Pfffft. Priorities woman!!

  19. Amanda Said,

Can I have your job, seriously?! What do you do to get to travel to Tel Aviv, Rio, etc etc?

  20. michele Said,

Ok, I got to change my life! I took the commuter bus to work, diddle on the crackberry along the way, worked in 20 minute increments (middle management/over achiever that I am), online bill pay, online restautant guide, online Macys shopping. Back an appointment for highlights, mani/pedi (weekend is coming) Now ready to head home via commuter bus. Good thing I have a dog and a man ready for me to entertain them when I get home or I would die of boredom.
Lincee keep sending us tidbits of your life…it will encourage others.

  21. Amy Said,

When I was in college, I spent a semester in Israel. Isn’t it great? It’s like a fun game to see how many nationalities can be crammed into a 4 block space. :)

I didn’t really enjoy the look potatos that looked as if they’d been colored with a yellow highlighter (that’s just not natural!), but they tasted better than some of the other food…Will you get to go to Caesarea?? It’s the most gorgeous place ever! (no, really. seriously. i am not joking around here)

  22. Houstonian Said,

Is Jennifer Henry on your trip???

  23. longtime fan Said,

As a Lincee fan since the email days, I know that she does PR for a co. involved in the oil and gas industry. I remember conferences and site visits, but never anything as glamorous as Rio. Sounds as tho Israel might be a personal trip? WebMAN, we all feel like we KNOW Lincee, but we really know so little… other than her food faves (Dr. Pepper, spring oreos, assorted candy)… I think we need a good bio. She has a sis. A dog? A new guy? Let us in on the wonderful Lincee, since we’re all living vicariously through her!!

  24. Jen Said,

Today I rode my bike to work - did some work in 15 minute intervals (I love you all who work like I do), surfed the net, had lunch with some fam members, picked up my new mountain bike!!, surfed the net, did a little more work - 4 projects that I sorta halfway completed, surfed the net again, rode home, watched my husband’s softball team while I enjoyed a nice adult beverage (he wasn’t even there today - his shift day). I just enjoyed a vegetarain corn dog, I’m going to watch a little Family Guy and head to bed.
Lincee- enjoy your trip! Ill look forward to reading about it!

  25. Some Guy Said,

Worked with my System Admin for 3 hours to get something to work before he goes on vacation for another week. Fail. Damn.

I did enjoy a footlong meatball sub (with jalapenos, of course) while I watched a couple of coworkers play Tekken on the PS2 in the office.

We also took someone’s loaner car on a joy ride while he was in a meeting.

  26. Barb Said,

    What’s Twitter?

  27. Tara Said,

I’m going to hijack this post briefly for a PSA - I saw the Sex and the City movie this morning at midnight and saw one of our dear old friends of Bachelor past…Marshana! She is an extra in the movie at a jewelry auction. I don’t know how I managed to catch a glimpse of her, but it’s hard to ignore those extra-large lips!

  28. oy vey Said,

Today I was late for work due to the massive amount of cocktails consumed last night. Yay.

Barb-twitter is a “mini blog” where Lincee would say something like “Toes in the sea in Isreal” ….it’s like an update on your day…does that make sense? If you do facebook it’s when people say “Lincee is working” “Lincee is awesome” etc.

You 15 minute workers rock my face off. Guilt…gone. (almost)

  29. kimmy753 Said,

I am SO jealous! I have always wanted to do the Holy Land tour. Also….I dated a guy from Tel Aviv..he was HOT. I’m just sayin’ :)

  30. AB Said,

Tara, I saw A sneak Preview of SATC on Tuesday and totally missed Marshana!!! Oh well, guess that means I have to go see it again.. ;) …Thanks for the heads up!

  31. Barb Said,

#28 oy vey - thanks for the twitter info; learn something new every day! Waaay past Facebook here! :)

  32. Lincee Said,

Jenn Hen is on this trip!

  33. Just me! Said,

I thought she must be! Tell her eva says hi!!! :)

  34. Barb Said,

Hope you’re having a wonderful time, Lincee!
