As many of you have emailed, tragedy has struck The Bachelor again with news of a Monkey/Matty breakup.

“Shocker. Bachelor star Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas have ended their relationship. The spilt comes just days after the New York Post reported Shayne cheated on the British bachelor with Las Vegas media mogul Justin Weneger.
Lamas reportedly called off the relationship after the allegations surfaced, and insiders say Shayne is currently planning a trip to visit Weneger.
Grant presented his final rose and a marriage proposal to Lamas in May, which she accepted in the finale of the ABC reality dating series. Matt reportedly moved to L.A. to be closer to Shayne, an aspiring actress — and he is said to be heartbroken.”
He’s heartbroken, huh? Maybe I should plan a trip to the UK.
Nah. It’s easier to go down the road to Austin and eat sandwiches with Hotter than Crap Brad. That makes more sense economically. Because economics and logstics are the things that keep him from falling head over heels for me. Yeah…that’s it.

Lincee- your recaps are pretty much the only reason I keep watching this show! There are NO surprises anymore. This season’s big twist is both bachelors are at DDah’s house at the same time?! Let’s be honest…from the way they were interacting with each other at the ATFR show we all knew something was up. And that was taped a few weeks ago. I guess it’s up to the bachelorettes to make it work…and so far there’s only been one who has.
Looks like they’re really pushing for Jason to be the next bachelor…would even tape the show in Seattle apparently. Should be interesting to see if that pans out.
Of course… who didn’t see this coming… It is good to know I was right thinking she was slimey and conniving on the show, though. Don’t you just love to be right!?
Definitely saw this one coming on the ATFR show…did you notice how upset Matt seemed to be? And Shayne’s comments about her being able to go out with ‘friends’ and not be a big deal seemed a little far fetched. Matt should have known something was up in Las Vegas when Shayne threw her infamous tantrum. Move On, Matt, move on.
We all knew that she was high maintenance. SHE knew she was high maintenance. I was one of the few that wanted him to pick Chelsea but I’m sure that wouldn’t have worked out either!!!
Did anyone else see that Chelsea is now dating Jeremy from DD’s season? What an odd couple. I guess they met at the men tell all show when they were all hanging out together. He confirmed it in some article a week or two ago.

I’m a little sad to hear this. They did seem like the odd couple, but I really liked both of them, and I thought they were kind of charming together. Poor Matty. With his handsome face and that accent, he’ll have the ladies lining up in no time!
I didn’t watch the Matt Monkey season, except for the finale. Glad I did not waste my time.
I am a big fan of Jesse and Deanna even though the general consensus seems to be that they won’t make it. The Ohio papers ran a story that they were in Cedar Point OH (home of 16 plus roller coasters) and had a tiff about riding one of them. (She bailed at the last minute). All I can say is, if it was the Millennium Force, I do not blame her. Cedar Point is a blast, with lots of fun coasters, but not that one. It has a super high, almost vertical drop. I hope people give the girl a break.

Totally saw this coming! They acted so weird together on the ATFR show. Hmm Actually I thought she acted weird at the final rose one. But I was glad he didn’t pick Chelsea because I don’t think that would have worked either.

Trista did give DeAnna the advice to milk the limelight as much as she could, so I guess Trista is taking her own advice. Seems a bit much to pimp out your 1 yr old, but thats just my humble opinion.

#14 Lily, I know!! I saw a few of the Cedar Point articles and I almost lost it. Here’s a quote from one: “Later, Pappas reached her limit and refused to get on one coaster, telling her fiance she was ‘mad’ and that he could ride alone and she’d pray for him. The couple will tie the knot on May 9, 2009.” LOL!
I wish so much I could locate the best article (really the worst, as far as “writing” and “clarity of thought” goes) because it had dialogue. This is a very rough paraphrase:
Deanna: No way! Stop! I’m not getting on the roller coaster!
Jesse: Will you please get on and ride with me?
Deanna: NO. No I will NOT. You go ahead. I’ll pray for you.
OMFG! Now, you can’t actually tell from the article if she was joking or serious. Why do I have a feeling she was serious? Wow. I can just see how that relationship is going to turn out. Run, Jesse, run!
The funny thing is, throughout the show she talked about how she wanted someone adventurous (like Jason was too dull for her) and then she gets the coolest, most fun, most adventurous guy of all and she won’t even ride a freaking roller coaster with him, for goodness sake!
FYI, one article said they rode the Maverick and she was terrified. I loved loved LOVED the Maverick! She refused to get on another one that wasn’t named. I agree, if it was Millenium Force I don’t blame her…I love roller coasters but that one was too much even for me. Of course, the scariest looking one of all is the Top Thrill Dragster, so I could see her refusing that, but that one is super fun and not even as scary as some of the others once you’re on it.
Shayne is a disappointment. I really didn’t like her after the Las Vegas date- but she grew on me. She seemed so cool and straight forward. Now I think she is desperate to get famous and doesn’t care who she humiliates and hurts in the process. Matt, however, didn’t seem to have the best crop of girls on that show.
I DO think that if Jason were the Bachelor AND he was given a handful of sweet girls, he could be the first Bachelor to actually get married. ABC needs that to happen - otherwise this show will be ending soon. I would stop watching it all together- if it weren’t for Lincee’s heeeelarious blog.
Does anyone know for sure that Jason IS seriously being considered? Lincee said she thought it would be a spring air date- I was hoping for something sooner than that.
Also- is DeAnna going to have her wedding televised like Trista? Trista gets a little too excited when a camera is around- I’m surprised that doesn’t annoy Ryan A LOT- he seems too cool for all that.

Also, I somehow doubt Matt was actually crushed. I think he liked Shayne during the process but I bet their breakup was more mutual than we’ll ever see. And he really seemed to be into the limelight, too. I’m just saying.
I feel bad for Matt. He should have spent more time getting to know Nicole. He did worry if Shayne was too good to be true !
I think maybe Trista and her family will be brought back again and again, every time there is an ATFR etc. Maybe the reason she is still excited about cameras is because they keep socking away money to build their house, buy Max a new pair of shoes?
DD is afraid of heights - so that is pretty good that she went on the rides at all…. I love all the rides, however, my hubby does not…and he won’t go no matter how much I beg.
Thank god you are free Matty! Too bad he didn’t pick a girl with a few brain cells…the worst thing about this show is that they don’t know each other at all! Shayne was caught cheating on her boyfriend on that MTV reality show too - and her boyfriends’ band mates all called her Shady Shayne….

I think Trista and Ryan are socking it away for little Max’s college fund! Tuition just keeps going up as does everything else.
Yeah, can we discuss where Trista and Ryan’s money is coming from? Sorry if this was already discussed, I couldn’t access the site for a few days. He’s a firefighter and she stays at home. Yet they’re building their dream home? In Vail? Considering we all hear that these people don’t get paid to go on the show initially, ABC must be paying pretty well to keep having them come back for more interviews!
Let’s not forget they got paid a lot for their wedding being on tv…and I’m sure they get paid to go on all the where are they now shows…plus Trista does have a line of baby products now. And I think they won “Celebrity” Fear Factor once too. They prob get paid from the mags for all the baby pictures, etc. of Max too.
I can more than believe that ABC pays Trista and Ryan for their appearance (though I can’t even being to guess how much — anyone have a wager?) but I find it hard to swallow that celebrity magazines pay them for photos of Max! Do they really appear in the mags? Which ones? Do most people even know who Trista and Ryan are?? I am a major Bachelor fan but even I only know about them because the show keeps trotting them out. And the show, at least, has a definite motive — they must hold on to their one and only happy ending!
If they do get paid for magazine photos, I’m guessing it’s a small amount. Only the super A-listers get ridiculous sums of money for baby photos…and I think we all know Trista and Ryan aren’t in that category.
Well they were on the cover of US Weekly when she announced she was pregnant…and then again I think when she had a baby shower…and probably again after Max was born (I used to subscribe). I think they’ve been on a couple of others too and I’m sure they get paid for them, but I’m sure not nearly as well as most actual celebrities.
Speaking of US Weekly…there is a picture on there today of DD trying on weddings dresses at Monique Lhuillier.
Hope DD doesn’t put a deposit down on that $6000 wedding dress because chances of that wedding actually occurring are slim, slim, slim

I told you guys this one weeks ago… I live in L.A. and Shayne made the moves on a friend of my husbands. He asked her what was up with Matt and she said it was over. This was long before the Vegas incident.
But Matt should have seen this one coming. Everyone, including her father, warned him. Poor guy. And somewhere Chelsea is smiling as she tickles Jeremy’s hot abs!!!

Has anyone seen Shayne’s Zaxby commerical? Daddy Lamas had one and now it’s her turn. It’s pretty funny at the end when she says “I’m Shayne Lamas and I’m an actress” I guess that was some good acting she did with Matt. I am dissappointed, I didn’t like her at first but then she won me over and now it’s obvious again that she was only in it for the TV time.
#52 - Sue - I completely agree…he should’ve had some idea both from the show and knowing a little about the Hollywood scene what her life would be like back in LA. Though I do think the scandalous magazine shoot she did was a bit fame-hungry if you ask me.
It’s a shame…he was prob one of my favorite bachelors so far. And she grew on me too…but I guess she had all of us fooled. I don’t think at 22 most people know what they want. Some do, most aren’t that together.

Has anyone seen Matt’s response to Shayne wanting to keep the ring? She totally said he was ok with it and he even wants to come over and see where she will display it. He comes back and says she should auction it for charity and can’t understand why she’d keep it….hahahaha. He says that sometimes Shayne says things and expects him to just agree. Clearly, this breakup was not amicable and I am guessing Matt is learning who Shayne really is.
