He’s Just Not That Into You

On Tuesday night, a girlfriend and I went to see an advanced screening of “He’s Just Not That Into You.”  Although I doubt it will ever be nominated for an Academy Award, there were a few gems that stuck out as points to ponder:

1.                  If it’s been a week and he hasn’t called, he’s just not that into you.

2.                  I am the rule…not the exception.

3.                  Bradley Cooper is hotter than crap.

4.                  Justin Long (Mac Guy) is adorable.

5.                  Drew Barrymore’s character points out an interesting cultural phenomenon when she says:  “A guy left me a voicemail at work, so I called him at home and then he emailed me to my Blackberry and so I texted to his cell and he messaged me to my personal account.  The whole thing got out of control and I miss the days where you had one phone number and one answering machine and that one answering machine housed one cassette tape and that one cassette tape either had a message from the guy or it didn’t.  Now you have to go around checking all these different portals to be rejected by seven different technologies.  It’s exhausting.”

6.                  Is MySpace the new booty call?  Is that what this “poking” thing is all about on Facebook?  Who knew…

7.                  Bradley Cooper is so freaking hot.

8.         If a guy wants to talk to you…he will.

But a recent search on YouTube resulted in the following clip.  And this my friends, is reason enough to go see the movie on opening night!

  1. Lindsey Said,

That clip was hilarious! I can’t wait to see the movie!

  2. Christy Said,

Ha – Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to see the movie and you are right about that Bradley Cooper. Oh how I miss Alias!

  3. amanda Said,

If the movie is half as funny as that video it will be well worth seeing!

  4. adriana Said,

OMG! I am SOOO glad that someone else recognizes Bradley Cooper’s HTC status! I have been quasi in love with him since his Alias days and he is just getting hotter and hotter. YUM. I cannot wait to see this movie.

  5. Kate Said,

I have to also agree that Bradley Cooper is hotter than crap and like you Adriana (or #4) I’ve been a fan of his ever since Alias. Such a freakin’ hottie!

  6. lulu Said,

oooooh i LOVE bradley cooper. you have great taste lincee!!!
i hope the movie is better than the book. i liked it but it just was pounded into my head that the guys ‘just aren’t that into me’ and it’s depressing!

  7. koca Said,

I’ve sent the vid to my boyfriend, let’s see if this helps my case. Doubtful!!!

  8. heidi Said,

Bradly Cooper is so hot, although in so many movies he plays a complete d-bag, and that’s sad. I’m totally saving this movie for my valentines day moping.

  9. Lazy Mom Amanda Said,

Can’t wait to see it! It has a fabulous cast!

  10. JennX Said,

I too have been drooling over Bradley Cooper since season one of Alias. I was so sad when Kitchen Confidential got canned. I might venture to say he’s number one on my list of hottest celebs. :)

Was watching tv with my bf when a commercial for “He’s Just Not That Into You” came on, and I totally squealed. Bf was like, “Oh, god. I guess you’re going to see that…” :)

  11. Sheila Said,

I’m so glad you put this on otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten to see it. SO FUNNY! And yea, add me to the list of people who always knew Bradley Cooper was hot hot hot! I wanted him with Sydney on Alias way more than Vaugn.

  12. Janine Said,

That was the funniest thing ever. Now I know what I want for valentines day…. a marathon of Bradley from my Alias DVD collection. The man is smokin’

I totally want to see that movie and I think I can convice the fiance to go with me.

    Thanks tons for sharing Lincee.

  13. Mandy Said,

Did anyone see Bradley Cooper when he played Jason Priestley’s BF (best friend, not boyfriend) in the fabulous ABC Family Original Movie entitled “I Want to Marry Ryan Banks”? The movie was loosely based on The Bachelor! Fabulous!! And he was hotter than crap then, as well!
    Can’t wait for the movie!

  14. Chickpea Said,

I second that you have Great Taste, Lincee. Absolutely. This one’s HTC Brad #1…the other one can be #2. :o )

  15. Andrea Said,

Bradley Cooper will be hosting Saturday Night Live this Saturday…set your DVR!

  16. Tiff Said,

Mandy, Oh my gosh!!! Yes! And I thought I was the only one. I’m not going to lie, I loved it! haha! Although I had no idea it was Bradley Cooper. Lincee, see if you can pull your strings to get ABC to show “I Want to Marry Ryan Banks” again after the Bachelor ends. haha!

  17. Jenna Said,

That really started my morning off right! Those guys are so hilarious. I’ll show this clip to my husband, but I’m reasonably sure he’ll see right past it and it will probably be “Taken” over this movie. *sigh* At least it’s got Liam Neeson in it…

  18. ejw1114 Said,

I saw the movie MOnday, it is super cute!

  19. Janine Said,

#13 I totally remember “I Want to Marry Ryan Banks” (not all the details, but it was cute) and I’d love to see it again. Maybe we should all start writing to the ABC programming office to petition for the movie to be aired again.

  20. Brittney Said,

That. Is. HAPPENING! I wanted to see it already, but after watching that, I want to see it SO MUCH MORE! Those guys are hilarious!

  21. Jenbabe Said,

I live in a smaller town, with one movie theater. I am SO mad because we didn’t get the movie here!!!! It’s not fair!!! I hate when they don’t carry the movie I want to see!!! :)

  22. Ear Said,

I went and saw it last night. For some reason I didn’t think it was that good. I was pretty bored and didn’t leave feeling like I couldn’t wait to see it again. I don’t know…I felt like it could have been better.

    Scarlett is the HOT one!

  23. Tor Said,

Bradley Cooper is just as hot in person. During the early days of Alias (I was a fan from episode 1), I was sitting in a coffee shop in DC and noticed this extremely good-looking guy at the counter. He then started walking towards me (to leave the shop), and I realized that it was that ‘hot guy from Alias’. He was with a girl. After some digging, it turns out his then girlfriend was a student at Georgetown. I think he also went to Georgetown.

  24. marla Said,

this clip was SO much better than the movie. hilarious. i love bradley cooper. he’s awesome in alias and even better in the ryan banks flick. darling.

  25. JennX Said,

Saw it last night with my bf. We both really liked it. There were some pretty harsh and awkward moments… definitely not your typical rom-com. And lots of eye candy for both of us. This is one I’ll probably buy on DVD and memorize. If there’s one thing I’ll say that bugged me a bit about it was the continued portrayal of women as powerless in every romantic situation– waiting on the guy to make the next move, etc. Otherwise, I liked the characters and the (at times brutal) honesty of this flick.

  26. CarlyInTexas Said,

This was hilarious!! I am going to see the movie today – with my husband – yes, I am dragging him to see it with me!

  27. jammf Said,

I went and saw this movie with my husband today. The theater was full and only a handful of men were in the audience. Gotta say I didn’t love it. It was amusing at times and boring at others. Enjoyed the eye candy though. I think it could have been better.

  28. Lazy Mom Leslie Said,

I just got back from seeing it with some friends. I have to say there were some scenes that made me oddly uncomfortable. Like the girlfriend is in the closet while the wife is climbing on his lap? I was sad that his character was such a jerk! But fun movie.

  29. annie from l.a. Said,

So, I went to see “He’s just not that…” and you’re right – there is no hotter than Bradley. Wonder if he’s still dating Cameron Diaz – he’s still in the middle of a divorce for anyone who’s interested to know.

For Bradley, it’s just the beginning of roles that are in such need of a real, man’s man.

And, there were some funny spots — I thing worth the price of the ticket.

And, Drews’s ex was quite a guy on screen and I’m sure off – just seems to be a nice guy.

Glad that there were some happy endings. But, you can see the market that Hollywood aims to fill – very light, mindless films that don’t require too much thought on the part of the viewer.

  30. Erica Said,

Yes, this movie rocked! Bradley Cooper is in Wedding Crashers- but he is much hotter in this film!
What I found most interesting in this movie is that you end up hating the guy (Bradley Cooper) that was married b/c he married for the wrong reasons…and you end up loving the guy that won’t commit in marriage (Ben Affleck) b/c he grows up and realizes that he wants to get married for the right reasons. I thought it was interesting how the “happily married couple” looked so perfect from the outside yet had a very cold/ distant relationship and even their condo was beautiful to look at, but had a very “cold” feel…whereas, the unmarried couple- who appaeared to have issues w/ committment were very close and would do anything for each other- and their apartment was homy and warm…interesting symbolism in my opinion. I think Scarlett Johannson is overated and was glad there were many story lines so I wasn’t having to watch her for 2 solid hours…but at the same time, both she and Bradley’s characters caused the most emotion in the film…you felt sorry for them while hating them at the same time…I liked all the different characters- b/c we all know someone in each category…unfortunately, I have several “Gigi” friends, that need to quit stalking guys- so hopefully they will go see this movie and listen to Justin Long’s character…and take a hint :) I haven’t read the book, but think it would be very interesting. I went to see this movie w/ a good friend and my mom…I don’t think my husband would enjoy it, but I definitely liked it and will see it again! :)

  31. LaskiGal Said,

I’m such a dork. I think Justin Long is a doll. Forget Ben. Forget Bradley.

And you know, it is so easy to see how someone isn’t into you AFTER the fact. It is during when we are so ridiculously stupid.

During the previews I noticed that another “chick flick” is coming out with Matthew McConaughey . . . oh, yum.

  32. carrielovesfred Said,

I would just like to say that I called Bradley Cooper when he was on Alias. OH and also Michael Vartan.
