Let’s face it…Tony DOVOLANI could care less right now that Nancy O’Dell has a fancy brace on her ankle that matches her “you’re too old for this” mini dress. Tony has a shot at the sparkly disco ball trophy! Not since season two’s WWE wrestler Stacey Keibler has he been so excited to face the trio of judges. Melissa is his golden ticket to first place.
And why is everyone so shocked that Mel can learn a dance in two days? She has a DANCE BACKGROUND. She went through DCC training camp. I think it was tough, but of course she can do it. I think the more obvious questions are: a) where can I get one of those bedazzled stickers to cover up my tramp stamp? and b) was that not an amazing crazy fro she was rockin’ last night in her salsa? You know how I love fake hair.
I’ve almost forgotten that she is a Bachelor reject. Have not forgotten her cheerleader background since her mouth is open the majority of the time. Mel needs to pull back on the teeth whitening chemicals and go up a shade in self tanning. That smile is bright and FIERCE!
With that said, I’m rooting for Melissa and Tony. Dancing with the “Stars” is back people. Embrace the fringe.
I am also on Team Tony/Mel. They rocked last night! But mostly I was glad to see her parents and brother there to support her. I never believed most of that nonsense on the Bach. Thought it was an overplayed storyline by ABC and considering how things turned out, weren’t they the smart ones in the end! And her Dad was rocking too! He was so cute!
That was her boyfriend, Ty, not her brother (fyi). They were great but I don’t know why that middle judge guy gave them an “8″ after he raved about her performance; but, he gives the “naked guy” from Sex and The City a 9? Go figure. Go MELISSA!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got that right. I thought Tony was definitely going to bust something. He was so excited to see those nines. Now I can’t wait to see how bad Max pouts . . . I’m thinking he was seeing mirrorball gold with Denise Richards and had to be disappointed with how stiff she seems to be. I was sooooo not going to watch this season, mostly because my husband was hoping to have his wife back on Monday nights (he just couldn’t get in to the Bachelor). But they sucked me in because I HAD to check out Melissa and, of course, now I’m hooked. So, Lincee, you have to recap or at least comment on the show if for no other reason than to save my marriage.
Did anyone else find it hilarious that her parents made it out to see her dance on national television but wouldn’t support her on the bachelor? Love it! Guess they aren’t THAT private after all…just didn’t want to waste their time with something they didn’t see going anywhere. Looks they were right on that one!

That is what Melissa reminds me of w/ her mahogany spray tan and glowing white teeth..I half way expected a toe touch in that routine last night…but I am a FAN! Tony totally has a chance at that trophy now! I’m happy for him. I think final 3 will be Melissa, Gilles & Shawn. Lil’ Kim fourth. I don’t like how Carrie-Ann always gives Tony a hard time about lifts (she has never let that go from the Jane Seymour season). I always cheer on Tony when he dishes Carrie Ann’s snotty attitude right back at her! haha
I thought the dance was good and energetic, but I defintiely saw some issues with some of their spins – they looked weird and awkward. I think the judges were a little blinded by the energy!! That being said…I am totally on team Mel/Tony. Eat your heart out Jason!!!

Love Mel and Tony together, however, I think my favorite pro is Mark. That Mark is just plain hot when he dances, nothing feminine about that! That new guy Dimitri may be too – but I doubt he will be in the competition long!
I also really like the bull rider, Ty. He is funny and does not seem to have a huge ego. I know some bull riders and they have way too much ego!

I think Molly is the one kicking herself. Their relationship seems so fake to me and I think she just wanted to stretch out her 15 minutes and be seen as the “winner.” But we all know it’s usually the #2 girl (in this case, Melissa, even though she was originally the last one standing) who wins in the end. Even if Molly had true feelings for Jason, I have no doubts they’ll fade as she actually gets to know him and then she’ll be pissed she is trapped in a fake relationship with him until their contract expires while Melissa runs around getting more famous on DWTS. I love it!
Winner my fanny! Molly will always know she was second choice! Their body language just does not scream “in love” or even “major crush” to me!
In the Bonnie Hunt interview, Bonnie must have given Jason 3 opportunities to say he had regrets about proposing to Mel and not taking more time to get to know Molly and Mel. He missed them all and I think Molly was really getting steamed.
Lincee – Melissa should feel right at home, DWTS must buy self tanner in bulk! Of course Mel probably does tan a little easier than some. I can be jealous, I don’t tan I just get freckles.

Frankly, I agree with those who noted how “convenient” it was that Mel’s parents actually came out of seclusion to attend the DWTS telecast. I think it’s very likely that they knew all along (or certainly before the home town dates), that The Bachelor was not a serious gig for Mel (i.e., it was a ratings driven set-up) and didn’t want to be part of it.
Let’s talk about Mel and her new (old) guy. Apparently, many here think he’s hot, but I’m not one of them. He looks pretty middle-of-the-road to me. If based on looks alone, she could do a *lot* better. That said, I’m sure he’s a very nice person.
Who was voted off tonight? My DVR stopped taping the last 30 minutes because my husband had another show that started to record at 9:00, so DWTS stopped!

Melissa while I will agree is doing a great job on DWTS – she’s been on several reality shows and it’s not a stretch for her to dance – she tried to be a pussy cat doll, she was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader – and no one says anything about her “broken heart” and Jason being the man for her and less than 6 weeks later she is with some other boyfriend who she says she’s been friends with for a long time but “the timing was never right” – BS. Let Jason and Molly be – they will be broken up by probably the end of next month or this month even but Melissa knew what she was in for and knew he would be dumping her on national TV and saw an opportunity to fool most American’s with the poor poor pitiful me… lose the tears – its getting a little old. The other thing I think is wierd is yes her parents were there but she said (not Jason – but Melissa herself) that “her parents are private – they never even watched me when I was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader” – why all of a sudden are they in the audience in LA watching Dancing with the Stars… guess maybe they just didn’t like football… NOT. I think most parents would turn out to watch DWTS. It is a competition and holds appeal for all ages. Sorry, Dallas fans but watching cheerleaders do routines over and over in the same costumes would get old. Plus the fans at a football game vs. fans at DWTS – if you are not an avid football lover? Which audience would you rather be in – if you are older more “private” people??

Tiffany, it is a proven fact that Melissa Rycroft never auditioned for the PussyCat Dolls. That is a different Melissa. She was also already a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader when CMT decided to film the tryout process. Unless she chose not to try out for her second year with DCC, she was going to be on the show. She applied for the Bachelor. ABC called her for DWTS. You sound hateful at best and maybe you need to ‘get real’. I think we should all wish Melissa the best as well as Jason and Molly. Let it go…and enjoy the show!

Hey Tiffany. Chill. Melissa Rycroft was never on “the Pussycat Dolls”– I watched both seasons. The “Melissa” who was on the Pussycat Dolls is Melissa Smith and SHE was also on the reality show Making the Band 3 (Danity Kane) and was a finalist but didn’t make the group. So THAT Melissa reality-show-jumped. The DCC “reality” show is in the spirit of showing how tough it is to get on the DCC. The DCC adhere to strict standards and are not part of this reality show genre (not really). The reality for those girls on the DCC is the DCC — no one has become any sort of star because of the DCC show. All things being equal, Melissa seems like a genuine, nice person. I don’t think she deserves your brutal attack. As far as her parents being there, I think everyone would agree that being on this show is a “big deal” and maybe now they have seen that she needs their support. The glass is half full Tiffany, not half empty.

YOU TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH!! Completely agree! It’s called GROWTH people!!! And if you ask me I think TPTB was trying to make that more of a big deal than it really was, since apparently her brother was there at the dinner and they never showed him b/c of the whole possibly making her a bachelorette..etc.
And as far as the whole old/new boyfriend…again…Growth! People change…I am quite sure Mel isn’t the only one to give it another try with a previous boyfriend and/or mate (depending on how serious things were the first time, but doens’t matter). Better to know than not know..um yeah b/c jason did that exact same thing! So why diss her for doing the same. And I saw on another posting on an older Lincee update that someone said Ty is the guy her friends were talking about dogging her. I am sooo glad you are bloging DWTS, Lincee! I was going through IHGB withdrawals. I think Mel is doing fabulous, even if she does have some dance experience, ballet and cheerleading are quite a bit different than ballroom. I agree her new boyfriend is much cuter and looks more like someone she would date than Jason!

old fan (#54) – Mel did very well last night (they got all nines doing a somewhat boring but pretty foxtrot). Lady Judge said she need to step up the difficulty now that the she had been at it a couple of weeks.
The truly important take away from last night’s show, is that someone close to Mel desperately needs to fast track a spray tan intervention.
53–yes that was her dad and boyfriend. Melissa did a great job and I hope everyone keeps voting for her because she really dances well. I don’t know if anyone remembers but Trista was on and she was an ex-Miami Heat cheerleader also but she did not do well. I think she was the first or second person booted off that season. I don’t like Carrie Ann’s opinion of her. The first dance–she said “you’re just excited to be here”. The second dance–she mostly complimented Tony and his choreography and not much to Melissa, really. Last night as beautiful as Melissa danced — all she could do was criticize her again saying “something is missing with you.” And then tells L’il Kim that she had what Melissa was missing? Give me a break! That Gilles guy’s only claim to fame is being naked for 5 minutes in the Sex and the City movie. I think he had three words in the entire movie….that’s it. I just get the feeling that she doesn’t like her or something. I hope that doesn’t hurt Melissa down the line especially since she is really the breath of fresh air on that show.

I’m thinking either Carrie Ann is a bit jealous of Melissa or they have told the judges they need to be a bit harder on her because she is coming out as such an early an obvious favorite. Also, since she does have a dance background I think they don’t want to just let her sail through.
i totally agree about carrie ann. she was the same way with trista, IIRC. not sure exactly what that’s all about. l’il kim really got into her dance this week, but how is melissa supposed to snarl and gyrate her way through the fox trot? i hope she has a more fun dance next week.
This may be half way off the subject, but I’m hoping someone can clear this up for me…..DWTS is an ABC production, right? The news about the Shawn Johnson stalker said that they caught the guy on a CBS lot. The story I read is from TMZ.com. Can anyone clear this up?
