Theory

Jillian is really Wes Hayden’s publicist. If you think about it…it makes sense. I bet her real name is Laurel.

Am I right?

Sound off below. Recap coming up.

  1. D Said,

Why oh why, when a no rose boy is leaving and he says, “you have some great guys there,” doesn’t he follow it up with, “except for Wes — he’s a douche bag!”

And, how freaking annoyed am I that his lame-ass song is going through my head? Tonight sucks.

  2. Cyn Said,

REALLY?!?!?!?!?! I wonder how well Wes’s cd is gonna do after this is all said and done? I hope he never hits the charts!! So glad that Ed is back though!!!

  3. jt Said,

My DVR cut off everything after Michael’s parting words…btw, I really respect him for the way he spoke about Jillian. You can tell a lot about these guys by the way they act after they’ve been rejected. Anyway, did I miss anything important on the “coming up” scenes?

If I was Jillian, I would have wanted to meet Laurel and have a little chat.

    I love Ed.

  4. Susan Said,

#3 jt — yeah, you missed the “coming up” of Jillian and Wes, over a romantic little dinner in Spain, where she’s asking him why, if Jake was making it all up, did he get so specific as to give the girlfriend’s name?

    So glad Ed Lover’s back.

Can’t believe Jake would go to all the trouble of going to see Jillian to tell her about Wes’ girlfriend and Jillian would believe Wes anyway. No, baby, I don’t have a girlfriend. I have an ex-girlfriend who’s a good friend. You’re so beautiful. I want to be with you. You have beautiful eyes. But if you don’t want me, I don’t want you to meet my family.

  5. Kristin Said,

So, I’ve been reading some blogs (Chris Harrison’s in particular) and a comment by someone from Austin, TX said that this “Laurel” girl is Wes’s girlfriend….and she is also Brad Womack’s ex-girlfriend. Does she only date men from The Bachelor/Bachelorette???

  6. witchy woman Said,

I swear our gal, Jilly, is dumber then a box of rocks!!!! Could the red flags not be waving fast enough? Just watching Wes try to explain anything was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! His body language says it all!!! I’m with you, Susan #4, why would Jake waste his time coming to Austin (okay, I know he probably will be the next bachelor) and how many other guys have told her the same thing? GET A CLUE, GIRL!! Maybe all that wine from the hometown dates is going straight to her head? Could the wine glasses be any bigger? They looked like fish bowls!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a season……………Team Ed, for sure!!

  7. witchy woman Said,

    Lincee,
I love that you have a sponsor on your blog……..”Nurse Jackie” on Showtime. You go girl!

  8. s2c Said,

I can’t look at Ed w/o thinking of Greg Brady.

I wonder how many times Wes’ family has had to cover for him?

Jason, then Jake, wonder if crying over the rail will be the new Bach man thing.

  9. Sher Said,

#5 Kristen, that’s right, HTCBrad’s ex WAS named Laurel!. Interesting. Crazy if it’s the same girl. But I guess they are both from Austin….

  10. LJ Said,

I can not believe she kept Wes…he is super sketchy. I know Michael is young, but I can’t believe she let him go, especially over Wes. Out of all of them Michael was my favorite…I would even date him. hahah
#8…I think Ed looks more like Denny from Grey’s Anatomy (if you’ve never watched it, look him up, exactly the same)

  11. Nance Said,

The entire interaction between Wes and Jillian after Wes’s band played was just uncomfortable and awkward (“I want to make this work… I’m here for the right reasons” what???) It seemed so fake and forced on Wes’s part…. and I honestly don’t understand how Jillian just doesn’t see it!!! Is it staged? She couldn’t possibly be that dumb. PS- Jake crying over the rail cracked me up. (Good call #8-s2c!)

  12. MT Nest Said,

#3 jt – You also missed Wes saying “…my girlfrie…EX-girlfriend…” when talking to Jillian. Any Austinites…was Wes’s band at Nutty Brown’s in last night’s episode?

  13. rabeckie Said,

I really want to believe that the bachelor is not scripted in any way, but last night the whole Wes and Jake showdown felt kind of fake. Then the return of Ed also felt staged also. If Wes is just milking the show for the publicity, its going to backfire as I am already sick of “Jillian’s song”, and I think most people are really repulsed by his sleaziness.

  14. Aunt B Said,

Jillian is an idiot….Wes can’t even lie good…why does he think he can sing? Did anyone notice that the band didn’t get to get up close and personal with Jillian? Why didn’t she get to talk with the band? Maybe she did and I just missed it….

Don’t think for one minute that Wes’ fambly wasn’t saving face for him….they were….wouldn’t you if you have a tool in your fambly that needed upgrading? Those girls were straight up pimpin’ out that boy.

It bugs me that Wes couldn’t look at Jillian and Jake in the eyes and deny the girlfriend….did anyone else notice that his denials twisted words in his favor?

OH! I was so hoping the girlfriends name was Bambi, or Stormi, or Muffy, or Buffy, or Twinkles?…..Laurel is just so a sweet sounding name….

I think Jake did the right thing last night….wonder if he’s getting grief from his friends for that crying business? I kinda didn’t like that….I don’t mind my man cryin’….just not on television….makes it look like he has a wimp card in his deck….

  15. Molly Said,

You know, its one thing when the red flags are unfurled. Even more when they are flapping away loudly. But when the red flags are slapping you in the face – its time to pay attention.

She deserves the misery that seems to follow her.

Oh, I so wish that Hare would break in and show her Wes’ interview footage – where ALL he talks about is his music and NOT HER.

Does anyone else think that Jake studied Jason’s balcony rail crying move to perform it?

  16. Laurel Said,

I don’t know what is wrong with you people. So what if my boyfriend is making out with another girl on national TV? He told me it was only for the CD and it does not mean anything. Thank heavens that his family didn’t blow it! Of course, I only know the blonde one. Wes doesn’t take me around too much. When I asked him if he would be with me after he rose to fame, he told me that love doesn’t come easy. Boy is he right, it sure doesn’t. It will be totall worth it though, when it is just Wes and me and I can hear the whole song over and over.

  17. why do i watch??? Said,

#14 – Jillian did speak to the band. We didn’t see it, but Wes asked her who told her about him having a girlfriend. He asked if it was one of the guys from the band.

  18. Karen Said,

Jake being the next bachelor would be BORING. I couldn’t stand to watch him talk aboot how perfect he is.

How about Michael and his twin brother?! “Twins looking for love – the most dramatic Bachelor ever!” As annoying as I found Michael to be in the beginning, his boyish charm grew on me. He seems sincere and ready for love, and they never mentioned his brother (forgetting name) having a wife/girlfriend – just that both are ready for marriage and kids and want to do it around the same timeframe.

I was impressed with all the families. Disappointed that Jillian picked Wes over Jesse. She is headed for heartbreak with no one to blame but herself.

  19. Kristen Said,

    #12 – No, that was Hill’s Cafe.

  20. lovethebach Said,

How come Jake didn’t say, “And also he told all of us that he is just here for the publicity not the girl.” Why won’t someone tell her that conversation? She is a glutton for punishment. Did you see how he was trying to turn it around on her to make her feel bad? “I said it once and I don’t want to have to say it again-I don’t have a g-friend. ” Then she was like,”I know, you’re right, I’m sorry.” Pathetic. He is a total sleazy player-why can’t she see that?

Also, the producers clearly realized what a snooze-fest this show is and is trying to pump up the drama with Jake and Ed. I totally loved Jesse-Jillian’s an idiot!

  21. Jenny Said,

Can someone post a link to Jillian’s blog? Thanks!

I feel the same way as the rest of you. Run, Jillian, run…away from Wes! What a sleazeball…blech.

I love Ed and Reid is adorable also. I never saw anything romantic between her and Michael. And Jesse is hot…but they didn’t seem to click anywhere other than on the glacier.

  22. Shopgirl Said,

People Magazine is reporting that Melissa Rycroft is engaged!!! I hope she is really, really happy. I think she dodged a bullet, and from the looks of things, stands a better chance of happiness than Jillian “In Denial” Harris. You go, Melissa!

  23. jen Said,

she is an idiot…unbelievable idiot. when she gets her “heart broken” no one will have sympathy for her. what an ass!

  24. jillian has bad taste in men Said,

here’s my take on this week’s episode:

    1) reid’s HTD: my husband said it best – “what a nice family. they all seem so normal, & reid seems like such a nice guy. she’ll never pick him.”

    2) michael’s HTD: as soon as he started oohing and aahing over jillian in his interview, my husband said “this guy is done for.” we both also thought it was uncool to pull the twin switcheroo on her – thankfully it didn’t work out.

    3) kiptyn’s HTD: i think jillian needs to seriously watch out for kiptyn’s mom – she seems like the kind of woman that will turn into a banshee if she’s ever crossed in the slightest way.

    4) jesse’s HTD: jesse’s yeti-of-a-brother threw the poor boy under the bus when he described him as an emotional ice cube, and explained that jesse dumped his girlfriend of 3 years when they were starting their business together. anyone else notice that their home did not seem completely built? there were exposed nails and drywall in the background…?

    5) wes’s HTD: the girl is obviously clueless. “who should i believe – the honest guy or the snake? hmmm…i think i’ll choose the snake, b/c he’s really cute and his voice makes me swoon.” when wes claimed he didn’t want jillian to meet his family if she wasn’t serious, he was really thinking “do whatever you want, honey; i already got my band a ton of TV time! yee haw!”. also, does he have two moms or what? i thought he said here’s my mom and my stepmom? are they together, or are the men just refusing to participate in the shenanigans?

i was floored when she kept wes instead of jesse. i mean, it’s not like i thought jesse would be the final man standing, but i just can’t believe that she would do it. what a complete idiot. i understand why she took ed back, though i do think it seemed very staged. all of a sudden 2-3 weeks later his work is able to let him leave again, despite the crisis they had going on previously that made him have to leave in an emergency or risk losing his job? doesn’t all add up…

  25. Nance Said,

Can someone please explain why none of these guys speak up about Wes? He’s made clear to many of them that he’s there for publicity and not “the girl”… is it a guy thing? I just don’t get why none of them talk!

  26. smurphy Said,

    #16. Laurel – too funny!!

  27. jo Said,

wes needs all the airtime he can get because that music was so bad it was cringe-worthy. what a hack and an insult to tx country music. go to austin, get a few tatoos, buy a guitar–yeah, that’s original.

  28. BigRed62 Said,

Did anyone else notice that Jillian kept describing Kyp as PERFECT during his hometown date. Isn’t that the very reason she got rid of Jake? So it’s okay for Kyp to be perfect, but not Jake…

Yes, she should RUN very fast from Kyp’s mom. Overbearing and will try to run your life.

And WHY didn’t Jake ask Jillian to call Foot Fetish to confirm everything he was telling her? I hope she is cringing as she’s been watching these episodes at how stupid she is. Why would Perfect Jake lie to her? He wouldn’t. But you still don’t believe him? She’s an idiot.

  29. Kath412 Said,

I really wish we could see more of Michael….such a sweetheart!

  30. martha Said,

Wes’ band played at The Hills Cafe last night. CREEPY GUY ALERT! What is wrong with Jill????

  31. Connie Said,

Poor Jillian having to watch this play out on TV now that it’s over and she knows the scoop. I think some are a little too hard on the girl. She has a good heart and is trusting. Those two qualities will always make you vulnerable to pain. But, they are also qualities that I admire. I truly think Jillian wanted to like the nice guys but just can’t. Picking the nice guy finally comes from making the wrong choices a few times when you’re trusting and think good of all people. When you’re older, you truly want the man who adores you. He may not be the most exciting but he’ll hold your heart close if you give it to hm for safe keeping. He’ll make it easy on you from start to finish. No guessing and no uncertainties. We all learn the hard way. I just wish Jillian didn’t need to learn it with millions watching.

  32. okcheather Said,

i didn’t read all the posts- but why does no one mention that wes keeps talking about him getting kicked off the show- not didn’t get a rose and not getting to see Jillian- his intentions are the show and his fame

  33. Laura Said,

#18 – I totally agree – Michael and his twin (Steve, I think?) need to both be the next Bachelor! Double the fun, double the roses!

My only possible reasoning for her letting Jesse go over Wes is that she didn’t want to keep leading Jesse on and thought it would be easier to say goodbye to Wes later (which it will be b/c he doesn’t care about her at all) – but that being said, she really seems completely oblivious to the fact that Wes is a) not into her and b) a total liar so I could be wrong.

  34. adriana Said,

    It’s official – I hope Ed wins.

Also? I read Jillian’s blog last night (about LAST week’s show) and it really seemed like Wes had the wool pulled over her eyes. Hopefully the stuff she was talking about translate to Wes being gone within the next episode. Seriously. I don’t know how much of that song I can take.

  35. AMC Said,

I say we nominate Wes for next seasons Wipeout and that we send Jillian a copy of the book and movie, He’s Just Not That Into You! =) Cannot wait to see what you make of lastnight’s mess, Lincee!!!! I’m sure it will be “wicked!”

  36. Missy Said,

    #16 Laurel–too, too funny!

I adore Michael. He broke my heart when he left…I mean, he was totally wrong for Jillian, but he is just the cutest thing, it’s hard to care… And Reid just came across as too insecure for me–I mean, both his brothers and his dad said he can’t do anything without getting everyone’s input. Have some stones there, Reidy!!

My bf said, “is she going to have to see him f***ing this girl to believe he has a girlfriend???”…I fear that she might. But none of that matters anymore because ED IS BACK!!! Yay!

  37. Lara Said,

Yes! I was thinking that she HAS to be in on it. He has cut her in the deal somehow. There’s no way she’s that dumb to keep him around for any other reason.

I’m happy Ed is back though!!

  38. Henry's mom Said,

    A few notes:

    1. Jesse called Jillian a “Honey Boo Bear” when talking to his brother. I about peed my pants–I call my dog “Boo Bear”!

    2. Wes is definitely uncomfortable and saying what Jillian wants to hear – she even said “You’re saying the right things”. Enough of him. His band isn’t even that good–publicity or no, they won’t go farther than the hole-in-the-wall bars they currently play. His 15 minutes is almost up.

    3. When Jesse’s brother asked Jill if they had been naked together, she said “No, that comes up a little later”, basically confirming the overnight sexcipades.

    4. Jake is kinda pathetic. It’s nice to try to protect her, but really–the crying over the balcony? Melodrama at it’s finest. He is not “perfect”; he is weird/stalker-y!

    5. I teared up about Michael. I came around to really liking him last night. Sweetheart!

    6. Kyp – still weird kissing. Wacko mom.

  39. Suzie Q Said,

I’m going to give Jillian the benefit of the doubt and say that the reason that she kept Wes was because she knew that there wasn’t a romantic connection with Michael or Jesse. She probably figured she could try one last time to get answers from him.
Besides, if she was pretty sure that she was into Reid, Kiptyn and Ed and her final guy would be one of those 3, it wasn’t necessary to lead Michael or Jesse on for another week.
While I do love Ed and totally think he looks like Denny from Grey’s, I’m rooting for Reid. I’m a Philly girl and I have to root for my hometown guy! Besides- how adorably neurotic is he?!

  40. austinchic Said,

I think they were at Hill’s Cafe in Austin

  41. jessica Said,

on some level, our girl has to realize that wes is THE ONLY one she continually has to ask about his intentions. she doesn’t seem to have trust issues with anyone else. so WHY, then, is the greasy slimeball still here?!

reid’s family seemed really nice. loved them.

sweet michael broke my heart at the end of the episode. now if he would have just calmed down and showed jillian some of that emotion…

and i literally screamed when ed’s dreamy face was on the other side of that door. i’m definitely on team ed.

  42. AtlantaTvAddict Said,

Its either staged or she is without doubt the Dumbest Bachelorette in Bachelorette History.

  43. Ev Said,

Sigh. Bad, bad, bad, all around. Wes? Really?? That’s just plain dumb. And I wish she would stop that infernal SQUEALING!!!

  44. cldf Said,

Can someone please post the link to Jillian’s blog? Thanks!

  45. Lorraine Said,

Here’s my take. 1) Jill knows Wes is shady. Deep down she knows this otherwise she wouldn’t be constantly asking him. 2) Now that Ed is back she knows her her final three are, even though she says she not sure about Ed coming back blah, blah, blah. She totally did a happy dance after he left her hotel room 3) It will be way more gratifying to watch Wes’s sorry butt be sent home from Spain.

I’m thinking Ed, and Reid for final 2

  46. amw Said,

OK, anyone else as angry as me? DVR’ed it and just screamed at the television when she announced Wes’s name. That freaking pisses me off, just eliminate him already. I hope nobody on this planet ever listens to his music. What a douche. Always loved Ed, so glad he’s back.

  47. Jill R Said,

I’m proud to say that I fast forwarded thru Wes and band playing. I’m so disgusted that I can’t even watch or hear him. Michael totally stole my heart during home town date and his exit – and I thought he was a wierd one at first. Agree, though, he might not be right for Jill. I thought Jesse was a little bit of a risk. I could tell that he liked her but held back a little too much, and his mother and brother’s words about Jesse not opening up and ex-g-friend would be a little red flag . . . noticed she payed attention to that red flag. JEEZ! Reid’s date seemed a little uncomfortable. Not sure if it was just me.

So happy my boy Ed is back . . . hoping I don’t think of Greg Brady, now, every time I see him. ha! #8, how could you do that to me?! ha!

  48. Missy Said,

#44–go to people dot com and scroll down and it’s on the right side of the page…

  49. heidi Said,

It’s official. I’m moving to California to find Jesse. He makes wine, plays the drums, can drive a tractor, and is hot. What’s not to like there?!

  50. Shopgirl Said,

    Jillian’s blog is at

    tvwatch.people.com/category/the-bachelorette

or just go to people.com and scroll down and click on her picture on the right side of the screen.

  51. suzi Said,

Did anyone notice that Wes said that Jake had been on bended knee talking to God? I wonder if Jake is kind of religious and he had been preaching to Wes. Wes just seemed disrespectful towards Jake. I can’t believe Jillian kept him around!

  52. Closet-Bachelorette-Fan Said,

    http://tvwatch.people.com/category/the-bachelorette/

I’m convinced more every time I read her weekly updates that she does not end up with Wes. but who knows?! Her choices seem suspect, but after reading her and OHCH’s take on the men and her, they make sense. Except for Wes, that is.

    http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009/06/chris-harrison-the-bachelorette.html

  53. Lesley Said,

    My Theories:

    1. Wes has two mommies.

    2. Wes’s “sister” with the brown hair and ponytail that was kinda evil-looking and asking lots of questions is really Laurel pretending to be a sister so she could be in on the action.

    3. That was a good cover up story during Wes’s HTD: pointing to his sister “you signed me up!” “yeah i just had this feeling” aka: “yeah, your manager told me you would use me as your scapegoat after he signed you up. we’re all in on this, we just want you to get famous so we can meet Dierks Bentley, thought this would help us get there.”

    4. If Kippy doesn’t make it past the next round, his abs will definitely be the next bachelor. I mean, he will.

  54. Heather Said,

Jilly acted like a 12 year old at a Jonas Bros concert last night. Give up the squealing already.
I hope she picks Wes. I’d love to see her pick Wes only to be left at the Home Depot pedestal. I’m just saying. :-)

  55. JennX Said,

#39 Suzie-Q: Totally agree with you regarding why she’d pick Wes over Jesse. Folks need to remember that this is not just a “game” where you achieve something by sending your favorites into the next round. If you think a guy is nice and upstanding, but you’re just not that into him, it is better to cut him loose earlier rather than let him get more attached and make it harder in the end. I know Jilly has mentioned this as her rationale with others in the past. In all reality, if I was in this situation, no doubt I’d have one or MAYBE two guys I was really into at this point, so for the rest, it’s all about letting the nice ones down as gently as possible, assuming that they feel a romantic connection to you.

At the same time, I DO think she was (is?) really into Wes for some inexplicable reason. But I believe that she has already come around to realizing that there are way too many questions, probably believes Jake deep down, and will be letting him go next week– can’t see her picking him over any of the other remaining three, all of whom she seems to really dig.

Finally, did anyone else sense that Wes was hoping to end things with Jillian on the spot when they had their talk about Jake’s accusations. Earlier that date he was saying how things get to a certain point and you can’t stop them… seems to me like he never thought he’d make it this far, and is now caught up in this deceit given how Jillian seems to keep bouncing him to the next week in spite of his best efforts to be a totally d-bag cad. He’s got to be like, “good god… what do i need to do to get off this show?!”

  56. BigRed62 Said,

Oh dear. Did anyone notice the interview with Tanner P directly under Jillian’s blog? ‘They called me King Dong’. Good grief…guess it still wasn’t enough for Jill to keep you around!

  57. Hotdog Said,

Of all the things I don’t like about Wes (the quest for publicity, the girlfriend at home, the horrible cowboy grammar, the relentess singing of the song), the thing I HATE the most is how he dodges accusations and manipulates the situation to make the accuser feel guilty instead of him. Instead of defending himself, denying the accusation, comforting Jillian or showing any empathy, he simply states “Look, I explained this to you already on the snowmobiles. I am not discussing it any more.” Suddenly it’s Jillian’s fault fo having doubts and it is now upon her to apologize to him!?!? I once dated a pathelogical liar and it was the same situation. If I caught him in a lie and called him out on it, he would turn it into “How can you not believe me? You have hurt me by doubting me.” That attitude is worse than any of his other faults and will lead to a lifetime of emotional abuse. Run, Jilli, run.

  58. sc Said,

    Holy plastic surgery Kyp’s mom!

My volume was messed up so watched the first half on mute, then gave up- will watch online today. However, I am so with you guys. Michael started off annoying, but I think he is such a happy, good person. I loved watching his family dance around, and he totally got his mega-watt smile from his momma. Twin switch was immature to me. I think final 2 will be Ed and Kyp. Reid just has no personality and Wes… No need to finish that sentence. I can’t wait for the Recap to crack up about what Lincee has to say!

  59. Marus Said,

i’ve been reading jillian’s blog every week and she has always said, “i didn’t see what you guys see, he was always such a sweetheart to me” in regards to wes. then goes on about how her decision is about what’s best for her and she made the right one and she’s happy, etc etc. this week, she does not claim that she doesn’t see what we see – in other words, she was starting to see wes was a total d-bag but she kept him anyway ’cause she’s got the hots for him.

  60. Karen Said,

I agree with #54 JennX – I totally felt like Wes was setting Jillian up to dump HER after he got his band some air time. She even had a look on her face like, what are you trying to tell me? And then he either backed off or else she changed the subject. She didn’t like where it was headed. That guy is SLIMY!

I don’t care who’s behind Ed coming back – just glad he is!!! I think Ed & Kyptin are the final two.

  61. Sandy Said,

I agree with you, Karen #18. It took a while for Michael to grow on me, but over the past couple of weeks his sincerity became so obvious, and last night’s HTD made it crystal clear to me that he really is husband material. His family was great! What warm and loving people! They raised that boy right, and he would have treated “Dumb as a box of rocks” Jillian like a queen. By the end of the date I developed a real respect for Michael. He was a class act.

I thought Reid’s and Jesse’s brothers were going out of their way to point out their flaws…maybe in an effort to discourage Jilly from choosing them, thus keeping potential offspring out of the shallow end of the gene pool!

Kypton’s family seemed just a bit too highbrow for Jillian. I did think it was cute that they put caution tape around the hot tub, and the dad seemed nice enough, but the mom was way too intense. The song they sang at the end of the show was funny, though.

What can I say about Wes that hasn’t already been said? I didn’t really like his family. He made no eye contact while trying to explain away his “ex-girlfriend,” it’s perfectly obvious that he has no interest in Jillian. Has anyone else noticed that almost every time they kiss she has to pick up his arm and place it around her? Also, anyone that has ever had the bad luck to date a “player” knows that when they turn things around and throw them back at you to try to make you feel badly (i.e. the line about not taking her to meet his family if she wasn’t serious) they’re just playing a game that they’ve played many times before. When Jillian apologized to him I wanted to smack her! (Connie, #31 – you’re absolutely right in everything you said, but Jill is not really that young…she’s almost 30, and she’s apparently had several relationships that were disappointing, so she’s old enough and experienced enough to know how to tell the good guys from the bad guys by now. Shame on her for being so, so dense!)

Ed showing up just as Jillian said that she just couldn’t stand anymore surprises did look staged. I was originally a fan of his but last night he wasn’t doing anything for me. The Jake and Wes confrontation also looked staged. I’m really beginning to get frustrated with this show!

  62. Jaye Said,

If she really wanted to know what was going on, she would have:

    A) Asked Ed what was up with his job. Is he now unemployed? (Wow, what a catch!…)

    B) Called up Tanner P. and offered to let him give her a foot rub if he’ll tell her who the cheater was.

First it was Jake, then Ed. Now, a third knock on the door…with a bottle of baby oil…Tanner P…..

Now THAT would be good TV:

  63. Em in Austin Said,

#12 MT Nest: They were at Hillside Cafe.

I’m Team Ed all the way! My roommate hates the show now that Michael is gone and Jillian lacks any common sense. But I could not be happier to see Ed again!

Wes is a d-bag. My friends and I have sworn to boycott his CD and any show he ever plays around town. Did anyone else see him clenching his jaw while talking to Jillian before Jake came down? And it looked like his neck was flushed, if not sunburned. Feeling a little trapped, maybe? Complete tool.

  64. Amanda Said,

Oh good gosh – Wes already has a website!!

    http://www.weshayden.com/

What is the world coming to?!

  65. kathy Said,

Could she be any more clueless? The first thing he has her do when she gets to Austin is see his band, where they play their single they are hocking! And his first reaction to her questions was, “Did one of the guys in the band say something?” Hello?! How did she not catch his “I’m busted” reaction? That and he immediately went after Jesse and even Jill for accusing him, turning it around on her.

    Ed does it for me.

  66. Chic in Austin Said,

OMG! Jillian snort some coffee chica and get real! Wes! haven’t you learned anything about the Austin men! BRAD!

Okay not bashing the men of Austin REALLY but seriously the band, the body language, the fumbling of words! the guy has absolutely NO FEELINGS for her at all! Jillian forces and initiates all the “romance” if you want to call it that! Jake seems sincere and really just wants to warn her!

Okay so we did ask him if he had a girlfriend but did anyone ask if he had a BOYFRIEND! he fumbles around with her like an awkward naive school boy! i think our boy Wes might be interested in promoting his band and possibly even one of the camera men! :-)

  67. susan Said,

I have to run out to a meeting, but have to say that Jillian is a tool. She wants Wes to be available so badly that she’s willing to overlook some pretty obvious behavior. Yes, Jake would come all that way to lie about Wes…..are you friggin’ kidding me. Like “Mr. Perfect” is that big of a schemer. That & knowing what Tanner said….hello, smokin’ gun, Jillian! I’m so dunzo with her and all that she’s ‘aboot’.

  68. heidi Said,

I was really hoping that jake and “he who will not be named” would get into a fight and jake give him a solid texas beat down. I was a little sad that that didn’t happen.
And I don’t want a recycled bachelor, but if they do recycle one of these guys it definitely has to be michael and add in his brother! It would be super entertaining.

  69. sc Said,

HAHAHA! Wes’s website is as douchey as he is. “Download the song Wes sang to Jillian Monday night”!!!! Wow. Thanks for the info Amanda. Hilarious.

I am totally starting a fan club for IHGB on Facebook. My friends who don’t read this blog are missing out big time.

  70. Ttown Said,

#56 I totally agree with you…last night Wes transferred the blame from himself back to Jillian to punish her for accusing him…what a total jerk. You know, a lot of women are unfortunately attracted to jerks like Wes…maybe that’s Jillian’s problem. Kind of like the domestic violence abuse cycle. Still holding out that she’ll pick Ed in the end.

  71. saggleo Said,

#52 – Lesley said, Wes’s “sister” with the brown hair and ponytail that was kinda evil-looking and asking lots of questions is really Laurel pretending to be a sister so she could be in on the action.”

thanks to TX QP i was searching for a who’s Laurel…and thought the SAME THING YOU DID LESLEY!!! LOL I was like…something not right about her. Even the kiss cheeseass gave her when they hugged I immediately thought…what brother kisses his sister that close to the mouth?!??!

Jillian’s convo with him after the band played….wow! I could feel his lies through my tv. And he irritated the crap out of me with his..I don’t want to haveto say it again… you know what a-hole! If you REALLY care about somebody… YOU SAY IT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED TO! And don’t do no guilt trip games…avoiding answering the question by… I’ve said this…I don’t want to have to keep saying it. I don’t…clearly it’s not good enough if she still has questions. Clueless or not.. his explanations are bs!

I have rewatch as I missed some of the hometown dates…but I cracked up at Kip’s stepdad?!?! or was it his dad…someone had a stepdad… anywho…his singing of the bachelorette blues at the end and the line about not burying a dove… HILARIOUS!

  72. MyAwesomeness Said,

#56 Hotdog, ITA! Been there done that! I had people all around me saying, he is cheating, he lies….and when I would confront him, he would use his words to turn thbings around to blaming me and how he was the injured party.

I have to say I loved the outtakes, Kip’s family singing the Bach’tte Blues and laughing up a storm. When Kip laughs and smiles I can totally see the attraction. He has a strong, direct woman (mom) in his life so he will accept Jilly as a strong direct woman! Jilly this guy is hot.

Reid is cute, his family is adorable but he if his own family says he needs approval too much, he probably does.,.

Michael grew on me all season…and his parting remarks were very classy.

This show was not the right venue for Jesse, or they did not show enough of him. I think she had some great guys except Wes.

  73. Amy Said,

One of my friends posted this story she found about Laurel:

Laurel Kagay This is an amazing story. It started several years ago when local bar owner Brad Womack was named ABC’s newest Bachelor. Brad, while ostensibly looking for love in Malibu with 25 women, was allegedly sending daily texts to ex-girlfriend and Austin boutique owner Laurel Kagay. Laurel is one of my daughter Jen’s best friends so we thought we’d have a bit of harmless fun with the story and posted a picture of Laurel on http://www.diningoutwithrobbalon.com along with the header: Austin’s Bachelor and the Girl He Left Behind.

Well, what we did ignited a firestorm. Laurel asked me to take down the story several days later because things got so out of control and we quickly obliged. But in those two brief days, Laurel was all over the Internet. Thankfully, the show ended soon after and things gradually died down.

But not before we all got a serious dose of viral reality.

So fast-forward a couple of years. I met this new guy named Wes at Jennifer’s birthday party. He was a talented singer and guitar player and we jammed late into the night. Turns out he was also dating Laurel at the time. And then about a year later Jen tells me that Wes is going to be on ABC’s The Bachelorette. The irony was irresistible. Two national reality show dudes with the same ex-girlfriend. And all three from Austin.

The plot got thicker when Wes apparently confided to one of his rivals on the show that he had a girlfriend back home named Laurel. Bear in mind that Wes has already been accused by his fellow bachelors of using the show as a publicity vehicle for his music. This tasty little morsel of obfuscation will air Monday night as Jake, one of the losers, comes back to visit Jillian (the bachelorette) in her Austin hotel to break the news that the evil Wes has a girlfriend whose name is Laurel.

So once again Laurel Kagay is all over the net as the girl who almost single-handedly ruined two reality shows. The truth of the matter is though that she was neither girl friend to Brad when he was The Bachelor nor girl friend to Wes during the filming of the Bachelorette. Yes, she has dated both but she wanted me to point out that she is now most definitely a bachelorette. She just seems to attract guys who get on national dating shows while being a bit obsessed with her.

  74. Kelsey Said,

WAHOOOOO! #51 Suzie, TOTALLY caught that Wes said Jake was probably “down on bended knee talking to God.” (definitely rewound that on dvr twice! ;) –That was my only hold out to wondering whether Jake was a legitimately awesome guy. He’s a Christian! No way Wes would have just thrown that out there unless Jake had spoken of God during the show. Ok, seriously. I’m from Dallas, parents still live there….now I’ve just got to figure out ~where~ in Dallas Jake is from. Which suburb? I’m from Southlake… ;)

    Anyone know his last name?

So pumped he did what was right, but I agree with all of yall, one of the guys (ahem, Jake) should have said something immediately at a rose ceremony. At least she was warned.

I was surprised she cut Mike and Jesse, I feel like they are both genuinely great guys and felt they connected more with her than the crazy Kypto’s family and Reid’s blah. BUT, of course she knows what her heart says.

  75. SC Said,

Started my “I love Lincee’s Blog” fan club on FB. To find the group, just search “I hate green beans”.

  76. Connie Said,

I bet Laurel the beauty shop owner is Wes’ stylist. Not sure she wants to take credit for that hot mess. I wouldn’t. She’s probably getting back at him by telling him “it looks great!”. Someone give that man some clippers.

  77. Ev Said,

    From Wes’ website:
“Wes Hayden’s popularity became obvious when he was asked to play for President George W. Bush.”
    What the?!

  78. Alice in Dallas Said,

This episode was brought to us by predictable surprise, surprise, surprises. We all wanted our little Canadian squealing Jilly to open her eyes and see Wes for who he really is, but let’s be honest it wouldn’t be as good for ratings and what would we all be talking about today. I don’t doubt that Jillian has feelings for him, but after being paraded into a bar for a “private concert” (how private is it really when you realize ALL of America and Canada is forced to listen to it with you) and constantly asking him what his intensions are – Jillian you aren’t going to get any kick backs from his cd – you are headed for a good old fashioned bad boy hurts the sweet “innocent” girl fairytale.

My thanks go to Jake for finally stepping up and saying what abc has been revealing every week; even if she did ignore you and was worthy of a Jason-esq balcony cry; Michael for providing endless minutes of laughter, ohhing and ahhing, and for unveiling your identical TWIN; and for true Denny Duquette back from the grave style, Ed’s return – dang ABC is good at crossing story lines. But Jill – don’t sit there and tell us you can’t take any more surprises, we all know knock, knock, knock – you are loving every second of these guys gushing over you and riding in on the white horse to slay the dragon Wes and fight for your heart once and for all!

  79. BJE Said,

#70- I know for sure that his sister was actually his sister…. not Laurel :)

  80. totsie Said,

i am so over jillian if she is this stupid. welcome back ed!

wes, omg what a total jerk.

  81. Paiser Said,

Does Wes have a father or just a mom and step mom? His family was pretty rough looking. Nothing he says makes sense and he sounds strung out.

  82. jenstemp Said,

I think douchebag’s “family” was fake–all actresses hired to protect him. Where was his dad?

All I could think when Jillian was on the tree talking to DB was “how is she going to get off that tree without scraping the sh## out of the back of her legs?”

The reunions with Jake and Ed were totally staged. “Okay, Jilly, just sit here on the couch doing nothing while we film you. No, there’s no reason that we’re here filming you sitting uncomfortably alone on your couch. Nothing surprising is going to happen.” Duh.

Michael and his twin–totally not identical.
Kiptyn’s family=scary scary. And all three kids looked totally different from each other.
    Reid=cute and normal
Ed=I’m still not sure. I think they look best together, but that doesn’t really mean the relationship will work.

  83. Shopgirl Said,

#76 Ev: Yeah, but it was Wes’s mother who asked him to play… LOL

  84. Kristi Said,

As an Austin girl, I find that Wes bothers me even more than he should. Or maybe that is just because a couple of weeks ago he went on a local radio station and said that he was “Shocked” at how the show was portraying him. I just have to point out to Wes (although we all know he is not a candidate for Mensa, so why do I bother) that… they can’t portray you as something other than what you are if you don’t give them the material inwhich to do it with. My mom (whom I have ropped into watching since last season’s Jason) was telling me that Wes was really a nice guy… until last week when he told the other guys that he had made it to episode 6 and he had sung his song, so he had done what he needed to do. This guy is so stupid. I would never buy his cd.

Did anyone notice that Jillian couldn’t wait to tell him that she had missed him when she got to his HTD and his response was “How are you?” So telling. Loser! And Jillian… I don’t think you are eligible for Mensa either.

  85. Ev Said,

#82 – LOL! I was thinking the same thing – nowhere does it say that he actually played, nor does it say who asked him… (Oh, but clearly, this means that his “popularity became obvious”!) Hahah!

  86. Lacia C Said,

Did anyone notice how red Wes’ neck was when he was being confronted by Jillian? He got backed into a corner and somehow weaseled his way out with his words…ugh.

  87. True Said,

Every time Wes opens his mouth and directs a statement towards Jillian I think of Ike Turner directing his fist at Tina. Seriously…I think Wes is one good, loud argument away from smacking her around. He also seems like the type of guy who would say…”Oh yeah baby, I’m totally checked out and clean. I’m STD-free!” And then two weeks later Jillian turns up with some lovely “rash”. Such a slimeball.

I feel sorry for Jesse. I think he had potential. I think he is a vinter and it’s in his personality to take things slow and let things mature and ripen. You can’t make wine over night! His brother reminded me a little too much of Chewbaka from Star Wars.

    Mikey-Mike…such a doll. Poor precious.

Kyp…yeah…the mother would be enough to have me running in the opposite direction. S-C-A-R-Y!

Reid – Loved that his family was so obviously taken aback at his public displays of affection. Hahahaha! I nearly fell off my sofa I was laughing so hard at that! His family seemed really nice and normal.

And…saving the best for last…HOORAY!!! Ed is BACK! I did the happy dance in my living room when he came to her door. Yes it was staged. Yes we knew when he took his rose home with him that he’d be coming back and cashing it in later. But, nevertheless, I was thrilled to see him!

What got me was that Jillian kept saying, “Well now it’s really difficult to pick.” My friend and I kept saying…”Uh… no…clearly with Ed’s return things just got VERY easy!” But Jillian is proving to be not as self confident as I originally thought she was. I think her personal insecurities are what keep drawing her to Wes. Kind of “fat kid” mentality. Like at one time she was the fat kid and then grew out of it but still can’t believe that someone as “cool” as Wes would want her…so she keeps chasing him. Ugh! Barf!

  88. saggleo Said,

#85 Lacia C…yeah I noticed. I was thinking …hmm hot under the collar much there! lol Being honest my hiney!

  89. jammf Said,

#18 I totally agree that Michael and twin, Steve should be the bachelors next season! Good suggestion.

I really like Kip but his mother scares me. His stepfather is a hoot and a keeper. Kiptyn’s hands never stop roaming over Jillian every chance he gets. Did anyone else ever notice that?

Reid’s family is great. I don’t see passion between Reid and Jillian though.

Wes ….I wanted Wes gone from the time he stepped out of the limo. Yuck!

Jake and Jesse great guys, just not for Jilly or the next bachelor role.

Ed seems to be the fan favorite. I need to see more interaction to join this crowd.

    #53 unkind! I respectfully disagree.

  90. adriana Said,

    Jillian’s blog about last night’s episode: http://tvwatch.people.com/2009/06/30/bachelorette-blog-i-couldnt-not-take-ed-back/

    Love her!

  91. Dani Said,

I agree with pretty much all of the previous posting, but here is my take.

Jillian you are an I-D-I-O-T. Seriously.

Mike was cute, but really crying over the other guys leaving? And the lil’ weird happy dance he did when he saw his mom and brother. WOW was all I could say to that. I thought right then and there that the boy has issues. And what little boy tells his brother ” I want to get married young, let’s make a pact on it.” please. Mike and Steve – is not a Bachelor I would watch. They would spend too much time trying to play pranks on the girls and giving each other hugs.

Ed – so predictable. Ha. Did exactly what Jillian told him to do. Don’t let work come between you and the girl you really want. He couldn’t get her eating out of his hand more if he had stayed and she met his parents. But I do really like Ed, he’s going to win. And his job he’s a consultant, I’m sure they just found someone else to put on the project.

Kipton – Love him, but she does not fit into that family at all. 1) Mom doesn’t buy any Jillian’s B.S. 2) Mom is a drunk, run away fast. And who puts you through a FOod and Wine test the first time you meet them. HELLO. Or should i say “BON JOUR” since they all speak French. 3) how in the world did Jillian have the balls to get into the hot tub after all their comments. No way in hell you would catch me in there after meeting that family.

Reid – I think he’s the gonna be the one with the intimacy problems in Spain. Something just not right about all that, although his family seemed the best fit for her.

Wes – Is an ASS. It was so obvious he was lying. He turned everything around to make HER feel bad. “it’s really upsetting me that you keep asking me these questions” and why didn’t she just say Laurel’s name right then and there.

Jake – okay he’s cute and very sweet. And I swear I have seen him in a bank of america in Irving ,TX. But seriously the leaning over the balcony crying, and then wiping his face with his shirt sleeve. PLEASE. And if he’s not the next bachelor I will be SHOCKED.

  92. Drew Said,

In case you hadn’t heard the news, Melissa announced her engagement on GMA today.

Funny, I thought they were supposed to interview Jason & Molly today on GMA. . . coincidence?

Haven’t been able to find that interview link though, anyone see it?

Also, for those into rumors/spoilers/etc. — check out RS’s blog in the comments under the Holly Durst interview. Very interesting stuff about Mr. Perfect Jakey. And good stuff in today’s entry about Ed.

  93. lulu Said,

#52 – “2. Wes’s “sister” with the brown hair and ponytail that was kinda evil-looking and asking lots of questions is really Laurel pretending to be a sister so she could be in on the action. ”

I THOUGHT THE EXACT SAME THING!!!!

  95. HC Said,

No one has said anything about Kip’s crazy mother watching them get in the hot tub. Jillian waves and she just keeps starring! Creepy!!!

  96. Kat Said,

I’ve been on the other side of an ABC reality tv show camera and these shows ARE NOT SCRIPTED. In my case there were many “re-do’s” but nobody tells them what to do and what to say.

I might add Jillian has lost her mind…..there are so many red flags waving about Wes that she can’t have missed them ALL!!!

Michael was a bit immature, but FUN, FUN, FUN! He’s been one of my favorites for a long time. You can tell he’s 100% sincere about her and his intentions. While he may be a bit immature now, won’t that keep you young when you’re older?

Jake is a doll….and I don’t believe there is anything on earth that’s “too perfect”. Many people said him telling Jillian she reminded him of his mom was a bad thing, but I don’t understand that. If my husband loves, and respects his mother, I would find that to be a great compliment!

I love Reid and all his neurotocism!!!

Can’t wait for Wes to get the boot next week….but, it could be best for her to keep him around as a “tool” so that she doesn’t hurt the other guys in the end.

    Looking forward to the recap…..

  97. Jenna Said,

#93 HC – I was JUST going to write something about that!!! Please tell me someone else on here watched Arrested Development, because Kip’s mother looked EXACTLY like “Gangy” when she was staring at them last night through the window. It was hysterical and weird at the same time. I truly expected her to have a martini glass in her hand.

  98. ihatepeas Said,

SQUEALS, RUNNING, AND JUMPING, OH MY!

Reid: Boring, nervous, can’t commit, always looking for approval/perfection, awkward stares/kisses with Jillian
Wes: Liar, cheater, horrible singer, eyes too close, there for wrong reasons
Ed: Seemed bored, not into Jillian, bad actor, know nothing about him except has a great job, bad conversations (if any), no connection with the other guys
Kip: Doesn’t seem into Jillian at all, does more kissing (awkward kisses) than talking, not ready to get married, boring, Jillian is not good enough for him (what he thinks)

Ok, this is my take on the guys. I can say that I don’t like any of them, nor do I fancy Jillian. She told every guy she missed him and I think only one said it back. Wes straight up “ignored” the statement.

Does anyone else notice her jeans? She wears the same skinny jeans all the time. I noticed them on these dates and in the dates next episode. I guess she wears her own clothes and ABC doesn’t provide her with a stylist. Also, when she goes in to kiss these guys, it always looks like she is disgusted or about to vomit in their mouth. She’s probably thinks it’s sexy, but it makes me cringe.

I say, throw them back in the sea and keep fishing.

  99. Susie Said,

Just wondering, did anyone else notice they did have any interviews with Wes’ family? Or did I miss it?? I kept waiting to hear what the sisters said but never did. Also almost wondered if that one sister that didn’t look like the rest was ‘laurel’ undercover :)

  100. Deb Said,

#91 You can see the video of Melissa at the GMA website. Look under “recently on GMA” and it is the 4th video clip down.

  101. AmandainDallas Said,

I cannot believe she kept Wes – OMG. I like #97’s theory….Wes got the least coverage with the family, BUT he had all the pre-drama….He is a snake even if he doesn’t have a girlfriend. My money is on Jake as the next Bachelor….I bet they told he would be the next Bachelor IF he would come back and confront Wes for some drama,,,,

  102. Kimberly Said,

I feel bad for Jillian, having to watch these episodes and see Wes the cheeseass in all his glory. I know alot of people think she is just an idiot for keeping him around. I have my moments where I want to hit her in the head and yell at her for a few minutes. But I think her naiveness just shows she is like alot of women out there. Sometimes it’s easier to see what you want in a relationship as the truth instead of the reality of the truth. I know I have been there before. I’m just hoping her family/friends can help her out next episode.

  103. Kimberly Said,

Oh, and I really want Michael to be the next bachelor. I said this last week too. It would just be a really fun season I think. Sure he’s not that old…but every bachelor / bachelorette is always kinda the same. Michael doesn’t fit the typical mold and I would love some variety!

  104. Marus Said,

like some of you beaners, i have thought that maybe jillian is keeping wes because she doesn’t care if he gets strung along and hurt, and she is sparing the nicer guys (like mikey, who she should’ve let go a long time ago – i love him and he’s adorable, but she never was going to pick him and she knew it). I *wanted* to believe this was what she was doing….

then it occured to me that when she realized dave was a total tool, she sent him packing. and during their last conversation, she wasn’t that great at hiding her dislike of him. i don’t think she’s a good enough actor to act like she does with wes and *not* think he’s got potential. which means she’s a stupid, stupid woman.

we’ve all be stupid about men at some point in our lives… but jillian isn’t a kid anymore.

it was also telling that at some point (was it kiptyn or jesse’s family?) where she said something along the lines of how she’s the only non-married one in her friends… and that’s one of her reasons for wanting to get married… did i hear that right?

  105. saggleo Said,

#88 – jammf Said, “I really like Kip but his mother scares me. His stepfather is a hoot and a keeper. Kiptyn’s hands never stop roaming over Jillian every chance he gets. Did anyone else ever notice that?”

Raising hand jumping up and down – I DO! I DO!!! I’ve said it a few times…I never see her touching the other guys as fast or as much as she and Kiptyn touch each other…and yet some say he’s not into her. I think I’m missing something or need to be schooled?!?! LOL I notice that everytime! Glad I’m not alone in that! whew – I’m only half losing my mind then.

  106. Jenna Said,

PS – I don’t necessarily agree with Reality Steve’s “mission to crack open how scripted and bogus The Bachelor is”, but I did absolutely notice the HORRIBLE edit they did of Wes when he said something to the effect of “I am only here for my CD to do well” (I’m paraphrasing, of course, I can’t remember exactly what he said). That line was so slap-chopped together I was almost embarrassed for the producers. You could completely tell that that’s not what he said, but two lines were spliced together to make it sound that way. My husband’s in radio advertising, and his job is to edit like that. I made him listen to it again and he said without a doubt, 100% there were two different conversations put together.
All that said, I’m not a fan of Wes, but I do think he’s getting a smidge of a raw deal here. Made me start wondering about how “awful” he truly is…

  107. ceecee Said,

#46 YES! Totally screamed and paced back and forth saying “no, no! why? no!” Although my husband seemed to sleep through it. If Jill doesn’t have a plan to get rid of Wes in mind already, she is a glutton for punishment.

Ed just doesn’t look sincere now to me. Probably the staging. Almost cocky now?

Reid is my choice. The kind of guy you’d want around in 20 years.

  108. adriana Said,

Hmmm.. just read RS’s post and I am seriously hoping he’s wrong this time.

After thinking more about the episode, I’m not sure ANY of them seem right for Jillian. I sure hope there’s something we aren’t seeing to their relationships.

And I’m still gunning for Ed and Kip as the final 2.

  109. Melly Said,

    Facts about Wes:

A good friend of mine went to high school with Wes in Huntsville. She said that he is known for dating “homely” girls. She also said that he used to have really long hair and played in a rock band. She said that he’s been trying to get on the Bachelor for quite a while now. Guess he finally got what he wanted at Jillian’s expense! Poor girl needs to get a clue.

  110. katie Said,

ok, so I had to google Laurel to see her pic and i think she DOES look like the brown-haired “sister”, but I don’t have the episode on DVR to get another look . maybe someone who does can check it out?!

  111. JennX Said,

Michael is sweet. And adorable. But that lovesick puppy-dog thing would have gotten old REAL quick. You get the sense that he would have been “in love” no matter who the girl was (remember when he said that he fell in love with someone from kissing them?). Sounds like a genetic trait given the pact he and his bro had as kids. I’ve had the puppy-dog-as-bf before and it was really not fun after a couple weeks.

On the other hand, I liked how Kip told his sis that the idea of an engagement at the end of this was “premature.” Nice to see someone is level-headed on this crazy show!

  113. Jennine Said,

I don’t know if someone mentioned this already because I haven’t read through all 109 comments, but I think for a good twist to the next season of the Bachelor they should have Michael AND his twin brother be the Bachelors!! ABC if you are keeping tabs on Lincee’s blog do this!!

  114. Adrienne Said,

I can totally see the Gangy/Kiptyn’s mom comparison! Too funny. And while I think Jillian is a real dummy for not seeing what we see in Wes, I have to give her credit for something. All during DeAnna’s season, she kept referencing Brad and her heartbreak, which completely drove me nuts. I think Jason did the same thing, but not quite as bad. I don’t think Jillian has mentioned Jason once. She is still a dummy though.

Oh and I really like Reid and Ed. They would be my dream F2.

  115. Connie Said,

Ed left the first time because he was threatened by the other guys…jealous, and he felt too good to compete with the others for her affections. The whole ‘talking to his boss’ excuse was bogus. Then, after she showed so much emotion to him upon leaving, he had major regrets. He unfortunately took those emotions completely to heart and that’s why he’s back. He was assuming Jillian was going to flip out with happiness when he returned but her little bit of ‘playing-it-cool’ act threw him off. Unfortunately, I think she’s moved on from him already. I think she had to give him a rose so he wasn’t totally humiliated. I think real love starts and continues slow and steady and builds to a crescendo. It doesn’t start, lurch, run away, come back and then start going again. Sorry, Ed. You’re a total hottie,,,,but I think you blew it. I’m just sayin…

  116. COAggie Said,

#102 – I am pretty certain that’s what Jilly said and I had to rewind my tivo for Kip’s sister’s reply…which was definitely “get her pregnant”. I was cracking up.

Lincee I can’t wait for the recap…loved OHCH’s take on things once again…and how he manages to run into so many former “contestants” in LA…greatness! :)

  117. curious Said,

Does anyone know if jason and molly are still together??

  118. sc Said,

#107- it took awhile for him to get on because he had to pass the STD screening. ;) haha.
#115- he had a radio interview recently and I think they are still together. Google his name, he has a website and blogs about stuff, sometimes Molly chimes in.

  119. Jillywill Said,

#115 Chris’ blog says that jason and molly are still together and doing great

  120. Sharyn Said,

#60 – “By the end of the date I developed a real respect for Michael. He was a class act.” And now we know why ABC will never pick Michael to be the next bachelor. Ha!

What I really appreciated was the concern Jillian showed for Ed when he came back, asking about his job, making sure it would be OK for him to take the time off, etc. Oh, wait. She didn’t. As usual, Jillian was worried about Jillian. Love Ed & would rather see him as the next Bachelor than with squeal-y Jilly. And he reminds me of “Chuck” (Zachary Levi) more than Greg Brady or Denny. Or he’s just an adorable combination of the three. . . .

  121. loves waves Said,

I just about went up in smoke when she chose Wes — that girl better hope this old lady doesn’t run across her on the street — her ears will be burnin’ up with my hollering and overwhelming urge to shake her silly! The longer she keeps that buffoon around, the lower my opinion of Jillian drops. My 2 year old grandniece could see Wes coming from a mile away! What is wrong with this girl!!?

  122. enrico palazzo Said,

Dusty Dinkleman needs to go home, for sure. I’m going to miss him. Vanilla Ice (Michael) was very respectful, but I don’t get why none of the non-rose people can’t throw Dusty under the bus, either.

  123. TX QP Said,

I love Ed, but last night it hit me that he reminds me of Robert, the brother in “Everyone Loves Raymond.”

  124. saggleo Said,

    #121 – TX QP – ROFLMAO!!!!! You a trip!!!!

  125. MR Said,

    #76 Hmm…one Texas-sized liar plays to another.

Anyone else see a potential next bachelor in Jesse’s Yeti/Wookie brother Jacob? Shake it up ABC! No more Ken dolls.

  126. Connie Said,

#120 Enrico- “dusty dinkleman” is perfect. What a hoot! Sounds like a bad porn name too. The non-rose people drank the Wes kool-aid, just like Jillian. Or, they’re afraid of that small chance in he##, that he could end up famous and they can’t end up being a hanger-on. You know….”I was friends with him when…” NEVER gonna happen, Dusty. Good one, Enrico.

  127. Amanda Said,

#115 – This is Jason’s Website for updates of him and “Moll” http://www.jasonsplace.com/profile/jasonmesnick

  128. saggleo Said,

Ok…I havea question…. if Ed came back this episode, then who’s the secret guy that comes back at the end with the Travolta walk shot of the shoes they showed…and the dark shadow opening the door? We all were thinking THAT’S when Ed comes back…but since it wasn’t that… who’s that?!?! I’m thinking Jesse maybe. I however am not as good as someone of you are on the speculating / predictions of what’s gonna happen so I could be way off…but I noticed that the Ed return didn’t happen like I thought it would.

  129. MR Said,

#119 – You know it! She’d give him the stink-eye on first sight.

  130. TX QP Said,

OMG, Saggleo, you’re right. Travolta walk – hilarious! Who is the guy with the blobbed out face and shiny shoes?

More serious note, I see CheeseAss as the abusive type, as others have mentioned. He might not hit Jillian (for fear Grandma would high-tail it to Texas and open a can on him), but definitely the emotional type. Making her feel guilty for asking appropriate questions, then threatening to punish her by not letting her meet the family… downright bone-chilling. Especially since it was working on her!

I really hope they have worked editing majic to give us our JR Ewing this season, and he is really just a regular run-of-the-mill d-bag. This would be a terribly boring season if we didn’t love to hate him! We are all tuning in to (hopefully) see our girl Jill dump his twangy butt.

  131. April Said,

    Things I believe:
*I do believe Jake is an honest to goodness good-hearted man. I don’t think he’s a wuss for crying, and I think he should be commended for taking time out of his life to go to Austin, be honest with Jillian, and confront Wes in a honorable way. He didn’t use fowl language, and he didn’t pick a fight, he just requested honesty. Wes is just an absolute a-hole and if I ever see him in the street, I swear i’ll kick him in his….. (you get the picture). His defense mechanism was to insult Jake’s character and his religion, not a smart man in my book.
    * I do believe that Ed is an amazing man of character, and I don’t care if he left her originally, or that she didn’t get to meet his family, I think his personality will shine through and he will be in the top 2
*I do believe that Wes has a girlfriend and is skating around the issue, and the fact that Jilly has had to ask him more than once is enough of a red flag slapping her in the face (# 15) in my opinion

    Things I do not believe:
*I truly do NOT believe that Jilly is that much of an idiot. I think ABC is alllll up in that for ratings. Wes and her obviously have no connection “I’m really into you, you have beautiful eyes” GAG ME!
    * I do not believe Kip’s mom! Sad that she was a little “off” to say the least. I think Kip is absolutely adorable and the fact that Jilly said she didn’t know that feeling vulnerable and receiving equal emotions back was possible, maybe he’s not perfect (like Jake) but he might just be perfect for her

  132. Schmoopy Said,

#46 – I DVR’ed too and screamed when she picked Wes (this was after several glasses of wine).

It might be different if Wes was super hot and charming and he was pulling this b/c you might be able to see how she could get caught up in the web …. BUT, he’s unwashed, unkempt, uneducated, and unpolished!

Wes is the typical cheating b-friend (I know all to well)! They always turn the tables when they are caught. Never heard my boyfriend say – you’re right, I lied about where I was – I was really with another girl. Instead he would say – I’ve already told you nothing happened and I’m not going to discuss it – you must be doing something behind my back if you don’t believe me. UH….. WRONG, snake in the grass! That should be no. 1 on the list of How to Spot a Cheating Boyfriend.

Kip’s mom – SCARY! My take is that she is very controlling and I wouldn’t want any part of her. I didn’t like the whole lasanga and wine test either – way to make your guest totally uncomfortable. His stepdad seemed okay but you know he’s wearing the skirt in that family.

I like Ed and Reid – I think the IHGB club should set them up with quality girls since Jilly seems to have lost her mind!

  133. Debbie Said,

Really think we need to rename her “Squeallian”…my gosh, dolphins ocean-wide were swimming for cover last night. I think Kip wins her heart because he’s a twirler. Every time they see each other, she squeals and he twirls. He’s her personal “Kip-go-round” if needed she can hang on to his ears for safety. Sorry, someone mentioned his ears early on and now that’s all I see. Nothing wrong with ears that stick out from the side of your head…I’ve got family members with ears like that. They are lovely people :)

  134. Molly Said,

I would LOVE to see Michael as the next bachelor. I thought it was great that he wasn’t afraid to show a little personality.

  135. Catherine Said,

I hope she picks Wes and makes a complete fool of herself on national TV. I hope he has a copy of his CD hanging out of his jacket just to remind us all he has one dropping. She can pick him and he can ride the 15 minutes he has all over People magazine. Then we his CD comes out and no one buys it his creapy family can be there to tell him it was all worth it and how great he is. They seem to lie about everything else anyway.

  136. chris Said,

thanks for the link to the recent jason and molly photos (#125). molly looks *hot* with the long dark hair. just my type. any single sf girls on here?

  137. sc Said,

#131- Debbie, you are a hoot! Chris, you have come to the right site. Lincee is an excellent pimp. (Sorry Lincee’s mom!)

  138. Ev Said,

    #131- LOL! Squeallian! Perfect.
#123 – “Jesse’s Yeti/Wookie brother Jacob” – HAHAH! You just made me burst out laughing.

  139. saggleo Said,

#128 – TX QP – so agree with you on the emotional abusive vibe regarding cheeseass. I was screaming at my tv…if you give a sh*t butt-wipe it’s not a pain in the ass to answer the questions honestly so that there isn’t any doubt…and if you really give a sh*t about her, then her questions wouldn’t bother you THAT much! ugh…

#131 – Debbie….LOL too funny! Yeah the squeaks were getting on my nerves after a while too.

  140. carried Said,

Did anyone else notice that OHCH called Robby D!!! ‘Bobby’ while talking about last week’s episode? Or that Jillian said she wasn’t surprised Jake came back??? And he who shall not be named is such a skeeze…oh Jilly Bean, when will you learn? Do you believe the all-American perfect guy or the country bad boy? Didn’t your description answer your question? Also, here’s a part of an interview he did about his edit: http://www.examiner.com/x-11850-Bachelorette-Examiner~y2009m6d30-KIXS-radio-interview-with-Wes-Hayden-of-the-Bachelorette-lets-the-country-singer-clear-his-name

  141. D Said,

OK, so in Jillian’s blog she says the following:

“I AM a smart girl, and I AM extremely happy with the final result. And the most important decision (which is the only one that really matters) was the right one!”

That kind of makes me think she doesn’t pick anyone. Been there, done that. I’m annoyed.

  142. Susan C Said,

A girlfriend (or boyfriend) back home while doing a reality TV show is nothing more than a friend with priviledges.

  143. TX QP Said,

Hey, I have a new theory. Jillian has been on to CheeseAss for weeks, and is playing chicken with him, seeing just how long he can go before he cracks. He finally breaks in the fantasy suite!

I am not original… this reminds me of my favorite Friends episode where Phoebe makes Chandler crack over his secret relationship with Monica.

That is tne only way I can see that she can watch these shows, and still blog that she is a smart girl!

  144. Alan Said,

Question from a straight guy here: can anyone help me better understand the appeal of the “bad boy”? I’ve seen it so often in fiction and in real life, and Jillian seems to have been hypnotized by one. Why are so many women so helplessly drawn to bad boys? Surely it’s not the hope that they can reform them. And surely it’s not that they don’t think they deserve better. Is it that bad boys are dangerous and danger is attractive, exciting? Is there anything more to it than that?

  145. kit Said,

#120 dusty dinkelman!!! yes!! that is totally who he is!! (if you don’t get this reference, IMMEDIATELY go and rent “just friends” with ryan reynolds. you will not be disappointed)

and all those that said dusty has that abusive vibe, i hear you!! and did anyone notice at dusty’s htd, there’s one “sister” he hugs and almost kisses or something? it looked very awkward, and we never heard from her. i think that was laurel. just sayin’.

i love jake! and i don’t think he needs to lose his mancard b/c he was crying on the balcony. he wasn’t quite as bad as melba, as he didn’t look like he was about to jump. i think he was just so upset that jillian couldn’t see dusty for what he is. jillian, please wake up and smell the scumbag!

michael. *sigh* michael. i thought the twin switch was cute, totally michael. i could tell them apart, too. and i’m all on board for him being the next bachelor. how fun would that be? come on, abc, shake it up! and he handled his exit with class. such a cutie!

  146. saggleo Said,

#142 – Alan – I think it’s simply choosing to ignore the signs you clearly see just to fill a void. I had a friend who was very much into many a bad boy…and I seriously couldn’t understand it. It actually changed our relationship eventually. I take it as a setting aspect to it. Well I can’t do any better and he seems somewhat into me so okay…I’ll put up with it.

I’m just thinking out loud….I’ve never kept with the bad boy thing myself. The minute I feel something ain’t right…cya! and half the time I’ve been done well before then.

I think it all boils down to low self-esteem really. How else can someone put up with such crap treatment?!?

  147. Debbie Said,

#142…Alan, apparently we like to change things. Oh he’s a bad boy, but the love of a good woman can change him. And unfortunately as many of us find out later, we can’t change them. The unlucky nice guys get tossed away because they don’t have that “fire/edge”. I can say that fires rage, then get put out. Sharp edges dull. Personally, give me the nice guy. They are consistent.

  148. Sher Said,

#38 Henry’s Mom – I was cracking up when Jesse called her a Honey Boo Bear. So cute!!! I loved that scene with him and his brother when his brother was saying she was hot. Funny.

  149. Lauren Said,

I love Reid! Do not see any connection between him and Jillian so hoping that he will be freed up to date me! I’m thinking that Jillian will probably let him go after the fantasy night and Kiptyn and Ed will be her final two.

Lincee – Love your recaps! If/when Reid is kicked off, pimp him on your blog and tell him about me! He is so precious!

  150. saggleo Said,

    RECAP IS UP PEOPLE!!! WOOWHOOO

  151. susan Said,

#95 – “Gangy”, that’s priceless! I half expected to see Buster peeking out from behind the window shade, too! :)

  152. My Awesomeness Said,

#142 Alan – It is partly the fact the bad guys can usually say all the right words and sound plausible doing it. I call it the ability to “sell pork to a pig”! The girl in question usually is loyal and true blue and can’t believe that anyone could be that dishonest, so they believe them!

It is the kind of relationship that can’t last – cause after a while the guy can’t remember what he said when and to whom!

The girl learns to distrust – until they meet a nice guy later! LOL

  153. Sinead Said,

Big red flag for a liar– “I’m not that good of a liar.” How many times did Wes say that? Dude doth protest too much!

  154. sfomelissa Said,

A shout out to #127, my niece: Yep, your daughter sure as shootin’ would have treated Wes to a tantrum the likes of which he’d never get over. 2 year olds can do that!

  155. sfomelissa Said,

Ok, here’s something that’s been prying up a corner of my linoleum for a couple of days now. What the hell is wrong with these other guys who’ve heard Wes Less-man make comments about his career being his priority, etc., but have taken some sort of dumbass prison-snitch vow not to tell Jillian? Granted, Jake is going to earn the Harvard Hasty-Pudding award for his pathetic acting job in telling Jillian, but hell, at least he showed some stones in telling her the truth! (Blame it on being from the land of the Golden Gate Bridge, maybe, but I actually thought he might throw himself over the balcony after turning on the waterworks. Now THAT would have been, in OHCH’s words, “the MOST DRAMATIC scene in Bachelorette history!”

  156. oregon Said,

Moved to comment after this one! Reid and family: so sweet, so wonderful, such good people. Family two, Michael and crew, the same. I now have faith that there are really great men with wonderful families out there. Heartwarming. I think Michael looks like a young and more handsome Jim Carey and is a very mature and composed 25-year old.

The Kiptyn family scared me a bit until I saw them singing the bachelorette blues at the end – then they seemed more open and relaxed. Jesse and family: would love to try their wines. Loved rock-out at the end! Wes: just disappointing. Jake and Wes drama – didn’t need. Ed, hot. Adorable. But do wonder if there is a true spark with anyone right now…

  157. Sher Said,

#155 sfomelissa, I think the other guys haven’t told Jillian because he didn’t really say those things. If you like to look at this sort of stuff, go to ‘A VERY IMPORTANT Bachelorette 5 Recap – 6/29/09′ on Reality Steve’s site (http://www.realitysteve.com) and skip to the 13th paragraph down. It explains exactly how his words about being there for his career were edited.

  158. Tiffany Said,

Would anyone really want to buy an album from someone who treats women the way Wes does for his own personal gain? Are you with me ladies?

  159. MeggieChristine Said,

    Wes stinks. End of story.
