Jillian’s grilling of Wes in last night’s episode and also her and Jake’s (or as she would say ‘Jake and I’s” ) conversation with Wes about the girlfriend last week should be mandatory viewing for every 15 year old girl, complete with running commentary on how you can tell from his body language that Wes is a liar and a douche. Not to mention, by the way, that when you show up in your pretty dress and your guy hasn’t even bothered to put on clean clothes, let alone nice clothes, that’s another really good sign that it is time for el dumpo (that’s Mexican for “drop kicked through the goal posts of life”).

Last night’s episode was great. I think this will be Lincee’s best recap to date. Couple of things struck me last night while watching..
1) Jill and Kyp’s date was a huge snooze fest. I’m just not seeing the chemistry. Hey Jill, another red flag is hitting you in the face. If you still think Kyp is out of your league, I don’t think you’re that into him. This one feels like a High School crush to me.
2) Reid melted my heart last night. They were so cute on their date. I absolutely got a “perma-grin” every time he tried his spanish. “Soy Grande” (so cute) He was a total gentleman about the overnight card. I liked that he left the choice up to her. Well played Reid…
3) Oh Ed…. Where to start, still a cutey in my book. I love that Jillian said she just wanted to make out with him all afternoon… And then she did, all over Sevilla, in the park, on the steps, in the carriage, in a random fountain, that I’m pretty sure they weren’t supposed to be in. One minute they were at the fountain, and then the next minute they were in it. Poor Ed has his pants up around his knees, and our girl Jill, nearly started her own wet t-shirt contest. I also loved how they worked out the “fantasy suite” invite. Ed turned that one around when he told her it could be viewed as an opportunity to make up for lost time. Not going to say they didn’t talk all night, but well played Ed. Anyone else, tired of her bringing up that he left, and he broke her heart, and now she’s extra careful with him, and blah, blah, blah. As I was watching, I was thinking to myself, “Jill, let it go. He came back, either be okay with it, or send him packing.” I could see this being a relationship killer if she doesn’t get over it.
4) Ding, Dong the Dillweed’s Gone… Couldn’t have said it better myself. He very well may have recieved a bad edit. But seriously, his true colors came right on out last night. Those were direct conversations that they were having last night, and you just can’t edit all of that bad stuff together. Anybody else laugh out loud from shock when he told her he still thought was a good idea to check out the fantasy suite after that disaster of a date?
I think it would have been a better show last night if there was a rose up for the offering instead of the fantasy suite card. This way she could have sent Wes home right after dinner.
I’m think it’s going to be Reid and Ed in the final 2. If that’s the case she can’t go wrong with either one. Ed’s lack of eye contact didn’t bother me so much. I’m chalking it up to nerves, and dealing with feelings on TV. I don’t get the creep vibe from him.

I am fully aware that some of it had to be the editing, but I was near disbelief of just how much a douchebag Wes is. The comments he made throughout the episode – just so ridiculous! I hope his cd is a huge flop, and that he’s forced down to the reality that he sucks.
On a happier note, Reid is winning me over bit by bit. I like Kip, but I don’t know if they’re right together, and I LOVE Ed, but again, they might not be the best fit. I think Jillian did a good thing by (mostly) not doing the fantasy suites – finally someone who isn’t afraid to say, hey, I’m not ready for this yet.

Okay, I’m listening to the Wes interview right now. While I fully acknowledge the producers can splice clips to tell a story and make someone sound like a jerk. But, while some of the things probably were spliced, the fact is that Wes said A LOT of things that are bad no matter WHAT context they were in. The “lot of sex” comment for example?? The look the other guys gave him made it clear that this wasn’t just “guy talk” and them being funny with each other. Also, Wes seems to suffer the same delusion Drunk Dave is. He’s saying their date wasn’t awkward, but it was edited that way. That was NOT editing. They can’t edit body language. Jillian even said in her blog that it was awkward. So is he calling her a liar??
It’s clear that he’s just trying to salvage what’s left if his floundering career. And people like Reality Steve eat this “edit” stuff up. I was one of the people who believed RS last season. This season, however, I think he’s let the fame go to his head. Plus, it’s clear he has issues (as most of us do) with the producers, so he’s willing to believe anything that makes them look bad, even if it means believing a guy like Wes is an innocent victim of editing. Yes, the producers are manipulating us, but so is Wes (at least he’s trying.) Luckily, most of us aren’t buying it.

I’m totally falling for Reid but don’t see them together longterm (their personalities are just so different). I actually like all three remaining, but not for her. I’m feeling another Brad Womack ending coming (at least from the guys’ perspectives — not one of them is in to her enough in the way Andy was to Tessa).
I’m also not getting the math on the Laurel thing — how was she with Brad for 2 years (or whatever) when she supposedly broke up with Wes last year after a 6 year relationship (or 3). I think there’s another reality tv boyfriend in there too. How old is this girl?

I think Reid is just a normal guy. He’s uncomfortable with her dating other people, which is totally legit. He’s having a hard time laying out his feelings to someone he’s known for only a few weeks – pretty normal I would say. He’s weird, but he’s likeable. Ed … more serious then Reid but also fun. Out of the ones remaining seems to have given the most thought to what their future could look like. The chemistry seems to be very mutual … both are constantly touching each other. I can see this one too.
Just a possible explanation to what some have commented on Ed not looking at Jillian when he talks to her and this causing suspicion that he is a plant. I think the mutual chemistry kind of clears that since if he was truly a plant he wouldn’t be so into her IMHO. Not saying that TPTB did not run with the story when the opportunity presented itself. But I was looking for the eye contact last night based on things that I have read and I noticed that he does in fact look her in the eyes … a lot. However, when he seems to be seriously thinking of what he wants to say … some important point … he seems to look off to the side. I do this too when I am trying to find the right words and once I have it in my head and can look back at the person. He seems to do this too and then looks back at her to see what she thinks.
Either way … Jilly is a lucky girl. I wish I had these three guys to choose from!

Wes is a dirtbag, no doubt about that! My thoughts are maybe he and Laurel weren’t dating but agreed to create this drama together. She does own some type of business (so I’ve read) so maybe she wants her 15 minutes of fame! She did date Wes, so she’s obviously a little unstable Just a thought. I think Wes is a d-bag like everyone else, BUT, when Wes made that “gonna find sex” comment next to the guys at the rose ceremony, that entire conversation was a voice over while showing the other guys’ faces – showing disbelief or disgust. So it sort of does make me wonder how many other comments were also things said in private but made to look worse. But, that being said, all the comments said in the limo seemed to come straight from his mouth and they were pretty incriminating!

I think it’s Reid or Kyptin. The Ed thing just seems forced to me. For instance, the scene with the two of them standing in the fountain making out (while wearing battery operated microphones no less!). And the constant melancholy stroking and rubbing each other. It just seems too theatrical, especially for two people who just met. Also, I’ve noticed that Ed’s jackets and shoes are very upscale and fashionable. Nothing wrong with that, but usually a guy who is into things like that is more attracted to the model type chick, which Jillian isn’t. To me, she likes him b/c he’s cute and relaxed, and he like her b/c she’s the bachlorette, but I just don’t see any real sparks.

My theory on Wes: maybe he realized just how different he was from the other guys right away, and bragged about having a girlfriend to them…but that was a lie. In other words, he really doesn’t have a girlfriend (because he’s focused on his career, ha ha) but wanted to look like a big shot in front of the other guys.
And, if you think about how many American Idol contestants get a bazillion votes and still can’t sell a CD, it’s hard to believe that Wes is that sure of himself. But, I also think you can’t make it big if you don’t have that level of belief, because it’s such a discouraging career path without a lot of luck.

I did not go, but through a connection, found out some juicy info… Apparently hardly any tickets to the show sold, first of all. Second of all, the way he and his band treated the facility were dismal, to say the least. I heard nothing positive from them playing there. I asked what the “fan reaction” to him was like, and I guess those few that were there got over his ridiculous antics and were saying, “Well at least he was honest…” I’m sorry… at what point BEFORE last night was he honest about a single thing (with the exception of talking about the publicity he is getting??)

HE doesn’t deserve more notice — breathed a serious sigh of relief when he left, although were it me he’d have gotten a nice swift kick in the keister with those stilettos.
Any camper knows that slow fires burn longest and are the most gratifying over time; Reid is the ultimate slow fire. He has a supportive family (with a cool mom), he’s unbearably cute in his manner, he LOVES looking at Jillian and clearly treats her like a precious jewel. His Spanglish was better than most everyone else’s English pronoun usage!
Kiptyn — superb bod, sweet fellow, is going to find a better match in record time (and I think part of the mother’s issue has to do with the method of finding Jillian, although she didn’t admit that), but there just isn’t the long-term connectivity developing.
Ed — red herring here. Has no trouble looking into the camera when he’s asked questions, but it’s as though Jillian has some dreadfully ripe zit on her nose — he glances for an instant, then looks away. Were I Jillian I’d be tempted to grab hold of his face and force him to look at me full-on. The other thing is, for a guy who has alot to make up for, he’s doing a piss-poor job of it. I’m beginning to suspect that he came back this late in the game at the behest of the producers, knowing he wouldn’t miss that much work, and they enticed him with Spain and Hawaii.
So I’m going with Reid here, if this girl has even one brain cel left. And I’m confident he’ll send her back to school to learn those pesky pronouns!

I was confused on why Jillian’s shorts were wet at what appeared as the beginning of her date….didn’t even get until someone on here mentioned that they edited and put the date back together out of chronological order. I loved Jillian & Reid’s date! It was like watching my husband and myself on a date or conversing, we are constantly bugging each other and correcting language/calling each other out, but in a funny way! Seems like Jillian & Reid ‘get’ each other. But I also think Jillian & Ed are a good match too. Kyptyn & Jillian’s date just seemed…..off. Kyptyn seemed to be more comfortable during in his date confessional than he was during the entire date with Jillian.
I think Reid will have difficulties opening up to Jillian next week about his feelings for her (and possibly may deal with the ED issue as well?) and he will be sent home for that. However, I think it is Reid who comes back to confess his feelings to Jillian (and perhaps propose?) after Kyptyn lets her down….not sure where Ed fits into things, though.

This was an interview His Awesomeness – Michael! This was out last week after the episode where he was ousted. I still heart Michael.
He says that the last thing he did before being kicked off the show was make out with Jillian….I think they showed a clip of a serious liplock on the previews….but all we got to see was his little goodbye peck at the door at the end of the hometown date.
Also, he says that he thinks she will pick Kiptyn in the end! I think this is purely speculative on his part….but from past seasons, whenever they ask a former contestant who the bach/bachette will pick – they get it right! I am wondering if anyone else thinks Ed is back so that he can be the next Bachelor? That is what kept going through my head with the lack of eye contact. Like they wanted him to have more exposure to get a bigger pool of potential dates for him, offered him a trip to Spain and Hawaii and told him he could be the next Bachelor, just my theory, time will tell

As much as I thought that Wes was a triple douche, the following radio interview made me believe that editing is key. it is long, but worth it, I think.
I don’t care if Wes claims he is the victim of bad editing. We already know he doesn’t mind lying if it benefits him. His comments are disgusting regardless of the context anyways, as I mentioned previously. If by some chance the other guys defend him on the MTA, then maybe I will believe that the editing made him appear worse than he really is. Until then, I remain convinced he is slime.

Yes EDITING is key. It makes people not say stupid things because we all know that in REALITY everyone understands what we mean. Now if everyone had a handy editing key, what would actually come out of our mouths? Did editing stop him from his ramblings in the limo? Did editing stop him from telling Jilly “hey let me say bye to the guys?” Did editing stop him from saying he was the most important person? Nothing against Mr. Sleezebag but it appears to me that for the past two episodes he has done everything in his power to get off the show. He did state not once but twice that “I will not explain myself again”. Jilly finally removed her editing blinders and saw Mr. Sleezebag for what he is. A second rate performer wanting an easy way to the top.

#175, Austin/Reality Steve – Give up the “editing” line already. I don’t understand why some people (RS) think they’re the only people who have insight into how reality tv works. Yes, they edit. Yes, they can drop the word “don’t” and completely change the meaning. But, you still have to give them fodder to work with. And they CANT EDIT BODY LANGUAGE. When Wes talks to Jillian and said things like “I can’t lie,” he NEVER could look at her directly and never in any way touched her or otherwise had posture that indicated he was truthful.

I loved listening to the Bobby Bones podcast where they interviewed Wes. Like everyone, I thought he was a complete douche but after listening to his side of it, I see how they edited heavily to make him the show’s villain. even last night I was thinking they made her keep him around just for ratings so we all would have someone to hate. It is so hard now to watch knowing so much of it is staged. Crazy thing-friend of mine had a party (4th of July) on Saturday and last minute, I ended up not going. Well it turns out Laurel and all her girlfriends were there. Jillian’s grilling of Wes in last night’s episode and also her and Jake’s (or as she would say ‘Jake and I’s” ) conversation with Wes about the girlfriend last week should be mandatory viewing for every 15 year old girl, complete with running commentary on how you can tell from his body language that Wes is a liar and a douche. Not to mention, by the way, that when you show up in your pretty dress and your guy hasn’t even bothered to put on clean clothes, let alone nice clothes, that’s another really good sign that it is time for el dumpo (that’s Mexican for “drop kicked through the goal posts of life”).
Jillian’s explanation of why she kept him on is understandable, but should also be mandatory reading for the 15 year old. Do NOT let your idea of what you want someone to be blind you to the reality of who they really are!
I agree with the posters who think the final two will be Ed and Reid and I don’t have a clue as to which one is F1. I’ve been a big fan of Kip the whole time, but I think he lost ground last night in the “into Jillian” category. Can. not. wait. for MTA!
I think Reid is so cute and real. I loved his recap and the reminder of when he said “you’re not on my list, either.” and when Jillian kissed him at his parents’ house and he said “I’m uncomfortable.” So cute and yum.
I think Ed’s cute, but did anyone notice how he never seems to look Jillian in the eye. Even when he was telling her how much he likes her, he just looks off into the distance. I’m not feeling it.

I don’t care if Wes was edited to death on this show. There are too many remarks that if said in any context are absolutely disgusting….ie, his parting remarks to the guys about what he would be doing after leaving the show.

I still love Kip-tonite! Kip and Jill can’t stop touching. When they were walking she put her hand in his pocket. When they cuddled on the bed, it was like Jill could not get close enough to him. My hubby was slow to make his feelings known but my hubby is a solid gentleman and a “good” guy. I remember that we could not get close enough.
Yes, Reid is cute and funny. But did not the voice over from Jill say something about we would fight all the time – he’d drive me crazy??
I would not go for the Ed thing, although Jill might. It is the lack of eye contact that bugs me, he says all the right words, but as he does he looks right, left, up, down…not directly at her eyes. I would rather watch DeAnna blink! It makes me think he is shady, lol.

Last night’s episode was great. I think this will be Lincee’s best recap to date. Couple of things struck me last night while watching..
1) Jill and Kyp’s date was a huge snooze fest. I’m just not seeing the chemistry. Hey Jill, another red flag is hitting you in the face. If you still think Kyp is out of your league, I don’t think you’re that into him. This one feels like a High School crush to me.
2) Reid melted my heart last night. They were so cute on their date. I absolutely got a “perma-grin” every time he tried his spanish. “Soy Grande” (so cute) He was a total gentleman about the overnight card. I liked that he left the choice up to her. Well played Reid…
3) Oh Ed…. Where to start, still a cutey in my book. I love that Jillian said she just wanted to make out with him all afternoon… And then she did, all over Sevilla, in the park, on the steps, in the carriage, in a random fountain, that I’m pretty sure they weren’t supposed to be in. One minute they were at the fountain, and then the next minute they were in it. Poor Ed has his pants up around his knees, and our girl Jill, nearly started her own wet t-shirt contest. I also loved how they worked out the “fantasy suite” invite. Ed turned that one around when he told her it could be viewed as an opportunity to make up for lost time. Not going to say they didn’t talk all night, but well played Ed. Anyone else, tired of her bringing up that he left, and he broke her heart, and now she’s extra careful with him, and blah, blah, blah. As I was watching, I was thinking to myself, “Jill, let it go. He came back, either be okay with it, or send him packing.” I could see this being a relationship killer if she doesn’t get over it.
4) Ding, Dong the Dillweed’s Gone… Couldn’t have said it better myself. He very well may have recieved a bad edit. But seriously, his true colors came right on out last night. Those were direct conversations that they were having last night, and you just can’t edit all of that bad stuff together. Anybody else laugh out loud from shock when he told her he still thought was a good idea to check out the fantasy suite after that disaster of a date?
I think it would have been a better show last night if there was a rose up for the offering instead of the fantasy suite card. This way she could have sent Wes home right after dinner.
I’m think it’s going to be Reid and Ed in the final 2. If that’s the case she can’t go wrong with either one. Ed’s lack of eye contact didn’t bother me so much. I’m chalking it up to nerves, and dealing with feelings on TV. I don’t get the creep vibe from him.

#21 – jenstemp – I am totally with you on the Ed/eye contact thing! He has been my pick since the very first day, but that was REALLY bugging me last night! He’s so sexy and I do like his personality, but his eyes wandering everywhere but on Jillian really annoyed me. I might have to switch to Team Reid!

Oh one more opinion. Someone mentioned that in an interview that Wes did, he’s saying that he might not go to the MTA show. If he has nothing to hide, and was the victim of a “slime ball” edit, he’s have know reason not to show his face, and wouldn’t his manager be telling him it would be good for publicity?
I felt truly giddy watching Reid and Jill’s date. I see a love story unfolding right before our eyes.
Not seeing “it” with Kip. I think she thinks he’s hot but I don’t see a future.
LOVE me some Ed, but the eye contact thing bugged. I hate to say this, but I think he’s a producer plant. I think the leaving/coming back was all an ABC-driven thing to create drama. Ed avoids looking at Jill the way a politician avoids looking at the teleprompter. Only the minimum eye contact necessary. He seems like a nice guy, but so far all we’ve seen from him are long faced serious discussions. Could be the editing though. Jill’s date with Kiptyn felt like a job interview to me. On the other hand, Reid left me wanting more. I can’t wait for next week.

I am fully aware that some of it had to be the editing, but I was near disbelief of just how much a douchebag Wes is. The comments he made throughout the episode – just so ridiculous! I hope his cd is a huge flop, and that he’s forced down to the reality that he sucks.
On a happier note, Reid is winning me over bit by bit. I like Kip, but I don’t know if they’re right together, and I LOVE Ed, but again, they might not be the best fit. I think Jillian did a good thing by (mostly) not doing the fantasy suites – finally someone who isn’t afraid to say, hey, I’m not ready for this yet.

Maybe I am biased because Reid looks and acts A LOT like my boyfriend but I just am not feeling it with the other 2 guys. I don’t understand the love for Ed going around…If I were in Jillian’s place I would NOT have let him come back and I would’ve kept Michael. Part of me agrees with #54 about Ed being an ABC plant. I don’t know. Kiptyn seems like a nice guy and he’s cute but he does seem kind of boring.

And what about this Laurel girl? What kind of person would allow her boyfriend to go on this show to promote himself? I understand that he will be seen by lots of people which would be good for his career. But, she needs some self-respect. She either has very low self-esteem or is just as shallow as he is. She also is a liar. She said on a website that they only go to lunch occasionally but are not together. I hope she is very embarrassed- especially when he said what he planned to do when he got back home (have lots of s*%). She must feel so loved.
I hope the producers MAKE Wes come to the MTA. He is such a jerk. He needs to be called out for everything. Jillian deserves the opportunity to yell at him.

Okay, I’m listening to the Wes interview right now. While I fully acknowledge the producers can splice clips to tell a story and make someone sound like a jerk. But, while some of the things probably were spliced, the fact is that Wes said A LOT of things that are bad no matter WHAT context they were in. The “lot of sex” comment for example?? The look the other guys gave him made it clear that this wasn’t just “guy talk” and them being funny with each other. Also, Wes seems to suffer the same delusion Drunk Dave is. He’s saying their date wasn’t awkward, but it was edited that way. That was NOT editing. They can’t edit body language. Jillian even said in her blog that it was awkward. So is he calling her a liar??
It’s clear that he’s just trying to salvage what’s left if his floundering career. And people like Reality Steve eat this “edit” stuff up. I was one of the people who believed RS last season. This season, however, I think he’s let the fame go to his head. Plus, it’s clear he has issues (as most of us do) with the producers, so he’s willing to believe anything that makes them look bad, even if it means believing a guy like Wes is an innocent victim of editing. Yes, the producers are manipulating us, but so is Wes (at least he’s trying.) Luckily, most of us aren’t buying it.
Totally – caught the hand clapping off beat – that was hilarious. And, I think Wes was commenting about Reid at the end…I think he said – “that guy is a retard…he would never have a chance in Austin”…I seriously think that is what he said (only cause the camera went to Reid)…HE IS THE WORLD’S BIGGEST TOOL!

I love Reid! at first i didn’t see it between them, but i really like how he’s not letting her push him into saying stuff he’s not ready to say. I sort of watch with one eye while doing other things, but am i mistaken in thinking that during dinner, he said something about how the other guys might be willing to just say the things she wants to hear, but that he wasn’t going to do it? i really like the two of them together, i like that he pokes fun at her a little bit and that he essentially “holds his own” with her. Kip and Ed just seem really boring.

I’m totally falling for Reid but don’t see them together longterm (their personalities are just so different). I actually like all three remaining, but not for her. I think Reid is just a normal guy. He’s uncomfortable with her dating other people, which is totally legit. He’s having a hard time laying out his feelings to someone he’s known for only a few weeks – pretty normal I would say. He’s weird, but he’s likeable. I honestly like all the final three but there is just something about Reid and the fact that he doesn’t even seem like he is trying to be a “dream guy”, it makes him so appealing. I loved their date, it seemed so… normal.
I just have to respond to all those saying they would “never buy Wes’ CD” or go to his shows… I think you are missing the fact that this is not going to be difficult as the guy has not exactly hit the mainstream country music circuit. I think you’d have to go pretty far out of your way to get his CD, in fact… like by ordering it off of his website (whereupon his moms/sisters will personally be the ones inserting the liner notes they printed on their dot matrix printer and burning the CDs one-by-one to send off to you). There are thousands of Weses in Austin and Nashville and Memphis, etc., and only a very few actually get anywhere with their careers. That’s what’s so galling about his bragging, really– you are a dime a dozen, dude! #1 in Chihuahua… pardon me while I LMAO.

I TOTALLY noticed that Jillian wasn’t clapping in time, and the producers put her voice-over right then saying,”I’m a good dancer…” or something like that. I was totally laughing watching her – NOT in a mean way, it was just funny!!

Jillian’s dress at last night’s rose ceremony looked like the black version of Bjork’s white swan dress from some awards ceremony a few years ago, but without the “neck and head” halter top.
Just some comments…
Wes … editing can only be blamed so much. Chucking back the booze will loosen the tongue and get you into trouble … obviously. By the way … how long were he and Laurel actually dating since they can’t seem to get their numbers right? He says six years, she says three. Somebody is either very bad at math or someone is lying!
Kip … nice but boring. Seems to have a hard time laughing at himself and Jilly seems the most insecure with him. Let’s not forget his mother…
Reid … love him and his date. I was laughing throughout. Natural, normal and fun. I see long term possibilities.
Ed … more serious then Reid but also fun. Out of the ones remaining seems to have given the most thought to what their future could look like. The chemistry seems to be very mutual … both are constantly touching each other. I can see this one too.
Just a possible explanation to what some have commented on Ed not looking at Jillian when he talks to her and this causing suspicion that he is a plant. I think the mutual chemistry kind of clears that since if he was truly a plant he wouldn’t be so into her IMHO. Not saying that TPTB did not run with the story when the opportunity presented itself. But I was looking for the eye contact last night based on things that I have read and I noticed that he does in fact look her in the eyes … a lot. However, when he seems to be seriously thinking of what he wants to say … some important point … he seems to look off to the side. I do this too when I am trying to find the right words and once I have it in my head and can look back at the person. He seems to do this too and then looks back at her to see what she thinks.
Either way … Jilly is a lucky girl. I wish I had these three guys to choose from!
Wes is a dirtbag, no doubt about that! My thoughts are maybe he and Laurel weren’t dating but agreed to create this drama together. She does own some type of business (so I’ve read) so maybe she wants her 15 minutes of fame! She did date Wes, so she’s obviously a little unstable

I think/hope she will pick Reid in the end. He is adorable! Ed is too hit-and-miss, and Kyptin’s abs are great, but his mama is SCARY. Reid’s fam is obviously fun and nice. I love that they are both funny and a little neurotic, they are both trying to make wise decisions, and they really enjoy each other. Reid is mature, and SO cute, and definitely into Jillian. I figure it will be Reid in the end, because she said, “I love who I am when I am with Reid.” That is SO important!
I think Wes is a d-bag like everyone else, BUT, when Wes made that “gonna find sex” comment next to the guys at the rose ceremony, that entire conversation was a voice over while showing the other guys’ faces – showing disbelief or disgust. So it sort of does make me wonder how many other comments were also things said in private but made to look worse. But, that being said, all the comments said in the limo seemed to come straight from his mouth and they were pretty incriminating!
I must be crazy but I thought Jillian’s black feathery dress was adorable! And those little peep-toe black heels – so cute!
I think it’s Reid or Kyptin. The Ed thing just seems forced to me. For instance, the scene with the two of them standing in the fountain making out (while wearing battery operated microphones no less!). And the constant melancholy stroking and rubbing each other. It just seems too theatrical, especially for two people who just met. Also, I’ve noticed that Ed’s jackets and shoes are very upscale and fashionable. Nothing wrong with that, but usually a guy who is into things like that is more attracted to the model type chick, which Jillian isn’t. To me, she likes him b/c he’s cute and relaxed, and he like her b/c she’s the bachlorette, but I just don’t see any real sparks.

#91 and #94… I listened to the W-bag radio interview this morning out of curiosity. Didn’t change my opinion one bit, even though I do believe that many comments were edited on the show. W-bag himself admitted that he did in fact make that comment at the rose ceremony, but he believed it to be mutual “guy talk.”
According to Kiptyn’s reaction, it wasn’t taken that way!
What truly creeped me out is that during their date, W-bag never denied to Jillian that there was no affection at all that day, but when the forego card arrived, he was ready to go for it.
Now THAT is disgusting!
My theory on Wes: maybe he realized just how different he was from the other guys right away, and bragged about having a girlfriend to them…but that was a lie. In other words, he really doesn’t have a girlfriend (because he’s focused on his career, ha ha) but wanted to look like a big shot in front of the other guys.
And, if you think about how many American Idol contestants get a bazillion votes and still can’t sell a CD, it’s hard to believe that Wes is that sure of himself. But, I also think you can’t make it big if you don’t have that level of belief, because it’s such a discouraging career path without a lot of luck.
The editing that I am most annoyed with so far is last night’s rose ceremony. It’s not like Wes leaving was a big mystery – at the last second Jill might pick Wes and not Kiptyn!! – no, really, that was at least twice as many TV minutes as it had to be!
Has anyone else read Jillian’s blog and get the impression that Ed is available – meaning she did not pick him??

I did not go, but through a connection, found out some juicy info… Apparently hardly any tickets to the show sold, first of all. Second of all, the way he and his band treated the facility were dismal, to say the least. I heard nothing positive from them playing there. I asked what the “fan reaction” to him was like, and I guess those few that were there got over his ridiculous antics and were saying, “Well at least he was honest…” I’m sorry… at what point BEFORE last night was he honest about a single thing (with the exception of talking about the publicity he is getting??)
Oh well. I’m happy with all 3 that are left. I personally am cheering for Ed, but think they are all adorable.
HE doesn’t deserve more notice — breathed a serious sigh of relief when he left, although were it me he’d have gotten a nice swift kick in the keister with those stilettos.
Any camper knows that slow fires burn longest and are the most gratifying over time; Reid is the ultimate slow fire. He has a supportive family (with a cool mom), he’s unbearably cute in his manner, he LOVES looking at Jillian and clearly treats her like a precious jewel. His Spanglish was better than most everyone else’s English pronoun usage!
Kiptyn — superb bod, sweet fellow, is going to find a better match in record time (and I think part of the mother’s issue has to do with the method of finding Jillian, although she didn’t admit that), but there just isn’t the long-term connectivity developing.
Ed — red herring here. Has no trouble looking into the camera when he’s asked questions, but it’s as though Jillian has some dreadfully ripe zit on her nose — he glances for an instant, then looks away. Were I Jillian I’d be tempted to grab hold of his face and force him to look at me full-on. The other thing is, for a guy who has alot to make up for, he’s doing a piss-poor job of it. I’m beginning to suspect that he came back this late in the game at the behest of the producers, knowing he wouldn’t miss that much work, and they enticed him with Spain and Hawaii.
So I’m going with Reid here, if this girl has even one brain cel left. And I’m confident he’ll send her back to school to learn those pesky pronouns!

So I was at a friend’s place on Saturday with a view of house of blues and the parking lot was virtually empty, which made me super happy. I still think kyp still looks like an awkward kisser. I was confused on why Jillian’s shorts were wet at what appeared as the beginning of her date….didn’t even get until someone on here mentioned that they edited and put the date back together out of chronological order. I did think that Ed did a great job of defending himself and convincing Jillian to spend more time with him – i.e. spending the night together.
It annoys the crap out of me that she keeps wondering if she is good enough for Kiptyn. He is no better than lots of the other great guys. I certainly don’t think he is any better than Ed.

I loved Jillian & Reid’s date! It was like watching my husband and myself on a date or conversing, we are constantly bugging each other and correcting language/calling each other out, but in a funny way! Seems like Jillian & Reid ‘get’ each other. But I also think Jillian & Ed are a good match too. Kyptyn & Jillian’s date just seemed…..off. Kyptyn seemed to be more comfortable during in his date confessional than he was during the entire date with Jillian.
I think Reid will have difficulties opening up to Jillian next week about his feelings for her (and possibly may deal with the ED issue as well?) and he will be sent home for that. However, I think it is Reid who comes back to confess his feelings to Jillian (and perhaps propose?) after Kyptyn lets her down….not sure where Ed fits into things, though.

LOVED this episode but admit I did fast forward through the date with Kippy – it was boring. Jill is just the latest in a long line of Bachelors and Bachelorettes (notably Brad) who couldn’t get their pronoun pairs straight, e.g., “I can’t help thinking about him and I.” Rather than getting into subjects and objects, there’s an easy test that works in most cases: try the sentence with each pronoun in the pair by itself. For instance, 1) “I can’t help thinking about him.” That works. 2) “I can’t help thinking about I.” Clearly a problem there.
I keep wondering if Ed wanted to skip the “meet the family” part, leaving just before it, then returning just after it? He seems to avoid those questions each time she brings them up.

Yes EDITING is key. It makes people not say stupid things because we all know that in REALITY everyone understands what we mean. Now if everyone had a handy editing key, what would actually come out of our mouths? Did editing stop him from his ramblings in the limo? Did editing stop him from telling Jilly “hey let me say bye to the guys?” Did editing stop him from saying he was the most important person? Nothing against Mr. Sleezebag but it appears to me that for the past two episodes he has done everything in his power to get off the show. Everyone here who is bashing Wes is being played by ABC employees and editors. I have heard interviews with Wes and there is no way he has a girlfriend. I’m not entirely sure Wes had a girlfriend, but even assuming he didn’t, that’s not the reason why he came off as such an arrogant tool. It’s obvious that he was there to promote himself. He thought he was pretty slick for fooling Jillian for so long (“all the babes want me…”). I even think he played up the bad guy persona to ensure he got plenty of airtime. Maybe he took a look at Spencer Pratt, and thought, hey that guy is making a fortune from being a jerk – and he doesn’t even sing!

Thank GOD Wes is dumped. Editing schmediting, regardless of how edited Wes was, this much was certain – he just wasn’t into Jillian, and that was obvious for at least the last four episodes. I think his limo comments could have been cut and pasted together, as there are many moments where they cut away from him talking. However, that sex comment before the rose ceremony showed him in all his glory, loud and clear. Yuck.

#175, Austin/Reality Steve – Give up the “editing” line already. I don’t understand why some people (RS) think they’re the only people who have insight into how reality tv works. Yes, they edit. Yes, they can drop the word “don’t” and completely change the meaning. But, you still have to give them fodder to work with. And they CANT EDIT BODY LANGUAGE. When Wes talks to Jillian and said things like “I can’t lie,” he NEVER could look at her directly and never in any way touched her or otherwise had posture that indicated he was truthful.
The people who keep believing Wes is telling the truth when he cries that he’s really a good guy and was edited to look like a d-bag are the ones who need to wake up. I could have turned the sound off all season and still known he was an a-hole.
If Laurel isn’t Wes’s girlfriend, as she has said in a couple articles while shamelessly promoting her boutique/spa, then Wes is just a liar. Either way, he is a BAD guy.
#126 – Just a guy, if Wes was the next bachelor it would be the shortest season ever. The first rose ceremony would be so short because none of the girls would accept the rose. But I would watch just to laugh at his rejection. Editing or not, there are ways to be classy and ways to not, even the way he dressed spoke his true feelings.
I don’t understand the Ed love. I find their conversations boring and like Jill has to drag words out of his mouth. It bugs me that he doesn’t look at her. I love Reid!! I smiled through their entire date. I loved the conversation they had (I even made a comment to my husband that I wish ABC gave us more of those conversations earlier on). As for Kip, I feel kind of take him or leave him. I think if Jill was willing to go slow it could work, but since she’s so focused on a proposal, I think she’ll be disappointed.

I noticed Reid has nice grammar and table manners and I wonder how long it will be before Jillian’s poor grammar and table manners start to grate on him (if they were to become a couple)?
Also, what was that bone she was chewing on during her dinner with Ed??? He was trying to be so serious and she was sitting there just gnawin’ on that bone, lol!
First, I just love the way Jillian talks so openly about wanting to make out with these guys (rather than talk), and then she does! Hell, I’d be making out with Reid and Ed all over Spain if I could. I do love Reid, and hope she sees that he’s the one she can actually make a life with. I agree with everyone – he’s just a normal guy. Probably the most normal person we’ve seen on this show. He’s neurotic and totally precious.
I loved listening to the Bobby Bones podcast where they interviewed Wes. Like everyone, I thought he was a complete douche but after listening to his side of it, I see how they edited heavily to make him the show’s villain. even last night I was thinking they made her keep him around just for ratings so we all would have someone to hate. It is so hard now to watch knowing so much of it is staged. I’m never surprised at the end because they purposely lead the audience to believe she is really in love with one and has more chemistry, then at the end they pull a little switcharoo to make everyone go “OMG!!!” The days of Trista and Ryan have passed and it’s just not the same show anymore.
At this point, I am loving Reid but then again not sure what the guys are REALLY like and how much of it is their TV show ratings “character.”

#175 Austin Yes, they edit but they can’t edit what we see coming out of his mouth and there was enough to make him questionable. Besides he and Laurel need to get their stories straight – he said they were together 6 years, she says 4 years but they broke up a year before the show? Plus she says she dated Brad for 3 years? The math is a little odd people! No one made him try to push the questions away, with bird comments, beer spills or I am not answering that question again type comments.

I agree with you all that even after listening to Wes’s side of it, he WAS still a douche to an extent. this is most likely why he was chosen and they worked it all they could. I do think they made him sound much worse than he probably is but you are right, he DID say those things and was a creep to begin with so they just banked on that. Every show needs a villain and he made it sooooo easy. I did think it was weird though that they wouldn’t even let him wear a suit. They MADE him wear jeans and those cheesy Western shirts all the time! I had no idea just how thick those clauses are but he says they basically own you and can represent you however they see fit. Have I always been so naive?
Crazy thing-friend of mine had a party (4th of July) on Saturday and last minute, I ended up not going. Well it turns out Laurel and all her girlfriends were there. My friend (that was there) had no clue who “Laurel” was or “wes” for that matter, because most guys don’t watch the Bachelorette! He did say she was blond and beautiful and looked about 8 years younger than she is. (She’s 28) Anyway, just thought that was interesting! She was there with a guy too and confirmed Wes was an ex ONLY. Small freakin’ world!!!
#175 Austin – I agree. Yeah, Wes is not an angel, but there was heavy editing. Editing can make him say anything by splicing phrases together to make a sentence. Seriously doubt he actually said he is the first to make it to Top 4 with a girlfriend. And the sex comment could have been made in any context. Maybe he had said previously that he was going to win the whole thing, take Jillian home and they’d be having a lot of sex….who knows. I don’t like him at all, but still don’t believe ABC. The preview for tonight showed more detail. It looks like Jillian just didn’t feel any romance with one of the guys (and I still swear it was Reid’s voice in the promo weeks ago); and the preview for the finale had her saying that the guy she’s letting go got down on one knee and proposed.
Ok, she said she loves to kiss Ed and Kip–but she hasn’t ever made the “I just want to make out” comment about Reid, has she? I’m going to go out on a limb and say its Ed and Kip at the end and she chooses Kip. Though maybe I just want Reid for myself…my husband won’t mind will he?
