I found it ironic that Ed told his father that “I can pull the trigger if I need to”…..Poor guy…he seemed to handle it pretty well and seemed proud of his shorts with the footage after the show. Kipton was able to pull off a yellow helmet with a butterfly pretty well…Poor Reid -class act to the end!

I was…almost…speechless with the whole sexual frankness last night. The innuendo from the overnight dates is gone now, I guess. However, I could hear the cheers from hundreds of Philly women when Reid was cut loose. Heck, I may fly there myself and take a gander at some real estate.
So maybe Kip really has been IT since he was the first one out of the limo, and the editing has had to compensate. She doesn’t have a bad choice… But, really? Even when you’re stressed and tired, (in HAWAII) and a hot girl right THERE? Doesn’t bode well for when you have a bad day in the computer world and the meat loaf is burned.

I am sad it won’t be Reid, he was just so darn sweet! But I loved Ed in those shorts!!! Hot, Hot, Hot…I think it will be Ed, he’s the more “challenging” one left. I definitely think the scene of Jilly Beans and Ed in the FS was by far more uncomfortable to watch than the infamous hot tub scene. Whoa! Maybe Ed wouldn’t have dozed off if they had left the lights on??
Kippy and Jilly Beans have fun, but there doesn’t seem to be that much chemistry left. I’d be happy to see Kippy as the next Bachelor though!!

My fave part of last night was the outtake with Ed saying “I wanted to show her my sexy legs and hot gut region.” AMAZING!

Ed’s short shorts were bad, but so was his outfit for the rose ceremony. I also didn’t think Jillian’s outfits were anything special last night — black pants and a black scoopneck tank for her date with Kip? You’d think they’d give her some cute clothes to wear. She had to know how long the show would be taping when she got ready for the show, and this lack of clothes seems to be a recurring issue. She’s so tiny that I can’t believe the issue is she couldn’t find anything to wear. Or maybe, between trips to Canada, Spain and Hawaii, the show is trying to demonstrate that it knows the country is in a recession by restricting the wardrobe?
I wonder if it’s going to be Kip in the end (that she chooses — whether he chooses her back remains to be seen). Ed is getting the overeager puppy edit, like Bevin in Andy’s season and Jenny in Brad’s season.
I hate to put this out there…but someone on site needs to work on helping poor Jilly NOT embarrass herself more on national television. Am I the only one who noticed that the poor girl had a cameltoe in her pretty Vicki’s bathing suit??
I thought we were gonna get a nice ball shot while Ed was sitting on the beach with his daisy dukes. Yikes! Kiptyn bores me endlessly! On that note…adios ladies! I’m hopping on the Amtrak to Philly to go find Reid. I’m heartbroken!
Who wears short shorts? Ed wears short shorts! I don’t know what was worse, Ed’s shorty shorts or Jillian’s 80′s jumpsuit. I do not like Ed. In the words of Dave, I think he’s a “cheese ass”! I liked Reid. Oh well, doesn’t really matter. These relationships rarely work out anyway.
OMG! #11: That cameltoe was ridiculous!! My boyfriend kept rewinding that part and cracked up about 5 times! You’d think they’d give that girl a heads up or maybe not air that part!
My favorite quote of the night was when Jilly said that she felt happy (giddy, something like that) and asked the camera, “Isn’t that love?”. AHHHHHHHHHH I wonder why the bachelor’s/bachelorette’s don’t find true love? Maybe they need classes in what is love before they start a new season.

I was so sad to see Reid go! Kiptyn is a hottie but I just don’t feel it. She seemed the most comfortable and normal with Reid. But, heaven forbid she go for a guy who can’t say “I love you” and propose after 2 months of her dating several guys! Come on, Jill! I love Ed, but he seems too staged or something. And he still doesn’t look her in the eyes very much.

I don’t like Ed. It made me mad when he went to find Jilly after she walked Reid out. She was still sitting on the bench crying because she wanted to be alone. Ed had to make Reid leaving all about himself. And he just seems so uncomfortable with her in my opinion.
I guess I’m pulling for Kiptyn at this point. He seems like a nice, normal guy. I don’t think she has a great connection with either Kiptyn or Ed, at least based on the footage we actually see. She had it with Reid, but she just couldn’t be patient and let the man take his time. Oh well….her loss I guess.

that said, i don’t care anymore who she picks. she’s obviously more concerned with getting engaged than with finding someone she’s truly a great match with. Reid didn’t back down when she tried to push him into saying something he wasn’t ready to say yet. I have the utmost respect for him, and I hope he doesn’t come back. she did the same thing to him that jason did to her.
Every season the bachelor/bachelorette does something to make me hate them…last night was that night for me. HOW COULD SHE LET REID GO AND KEEP KIPTONITE? What the crazy with that? I agree with #16. Sure – that’s romantic! I like Ed and I felt sooo bad when he was promising her it wouldn’t happen again. Poor guy!!

I screamed “Pineapple” at my tv no less than 5 times during Ed and Jilly’s date- the short shorts, the massage oil, oh its scary. And Ed’s rose ceremony outfit was ridiculous! Kiptyn and Reid’s facial expressions when he walked in were priceless! My sister and I called him Thurston Howell the Third. It was very Gilligan’s Island/Panama Jack ish.

Interesting night – again about 1 hour and 45 minutes too long! I DVR’d it and watched it in fast forward – pausing briefly on the “Leap of Faith” date with Kip – just don’t get those two. When he laughs his mouths slides to the right and he looks very odd. I love REID! But, were they in another helicopter…and the pushing him to say more was too much. He is adorable. He will find better. I heart ED! But, last night made me question why. Green Short shorts – how easily you all forget the tight short swimtrunks he was wearing in the Bachelorette mansion when he get the rose (and the guys cam to throw him in the pool)! This is what Ed wears – I think he may be a long distance runner – they love those shorts and his legs are long and lean! I have always thought they had chemistry – they are always all over each other touching and carressing. So, I am not sure what happened in the FS and I do not want to believe it is e.d. … maybe he just feel asleep, if she decided to keep him??? I was shocked she let Reid go and I think she regrets it but I can’t see him coming back…it doesn’t seem like something he would do? But, that will make for some great TV. I am excited for the Men Tell All – OHCH blog says it is the best ever (but OHCH has been known to say that before…:0) OHCH also seems to think her decision was right – and I trust him. And, Jilli’s blog she focused on Kip and Reid and spent very little time in ED. So, I am picking Kip. Can’t wait for Lincee’s take – I am sure it will be much more entertaining that last night’s show!
I have loved Ed from the beginning but seriously!?!?!?!? The first thing I said when I saw Ed in the shorts was “Dude, the 70′s called and they want their clothes back” I was a little embarrassed for him in those outfits last night. The Rose ceremony suit was even worse. Go with a nice black or dark gray suit you can’t go wrong.
I think Ed will take it all. I can’t see her settling down with Kiptyn. I can’t see that lasting more than a nanosecond.

Wow, lots of people hating on Ed! I really like him, and I feel like they have actual challenges and there’s a bit more “reality” with them. Think about it – they’ve already had issues that many couples have to address – work, performance anxiety, meeting the parents, etc. Who knows what is true when it comes to the rumors about him having a gf, but it seems to me like he’s her shot at having something sort of real come out of this experience.
Also? Come on. 2 cameras in your face, a day in the sun, being really tired – I love my boyfriend to the ends of the earth and still wouldn’t blame him for wanting to take it easy in that situation. Totally blown out of proportion for drama’s sake. Boo, ABC.

I have never been more confused about what I think is going to happen on the finale in my life, especially with all this “big confession” drama and rumors circling that Kypton is the next Bachelor. So of course…taking to the internet to find the answer is the only way….and turns out there is much to discover on the internet…specifically on Twitter(which I have been telling everyone I know they need to get on and understand now). We all know that all these Bach/Bachette contestants all know each other and are pals and talk all the time. Two interesting things you will find 1) They are all pissed at how Wes was portrayed via editing and they all LOVE Wes as a person, and its not just the Bach’s it’s the Bachette’s too. In addition the “Reality Steve” guy has a website and there is an interview with Wes that breaks his contract defending himself 2)The “girlfriend” issue is not dead – see long back and forth between @jeremycade and @tristasutter about a week ago. It makes me sick to write this, but I think its Ed and maybe that is why he had issues last night and might also explain the “What the hell are we doing here comment” from his dad. I looooooooooooove ED please ABC don’t do this to us…especially when you are going to make us sit through D-Bag Jason next week…ugggh. Poor Jillian, Poor Reid if this ends up to be true. What kind of dumb-ass comes on a reality dating show as long standing as the Bach/Bachette with a g/f and thinks he’s not geetting busted. Love Don’t Come Easy ya’lll ….just sayin’
As far as the Men Tell All…on the Reality Steve site you can read live feed of Twitter (I’m telling you people…Team Twitter…join the party) it says that Wes and Reid were not there. For those of us who have watched the show since King of the DBags Alex was the Bach, people who may still appear on the show (F2 etc.) are not on the tell all episodes. Also OHCH’s blog say the Men Tell All taping was off the charts and that it got out of hand quick….I cannot wait!
The Reality Steve site also says that the finale is going to be more shocking and un-believable than when Hot as Crap Brad picked no one…..seriously? The next two weeks are going to be torture. Almost as much as seeing Ed in those shorts last night…Lincee I was so thinking Mike Brady…you are the bomb. Also Ed’s dad is straight out of the SNL “Da Bears”, you have my permission to use that in the recap.

Okay, I have been a Kiptonite lover since the beginning, I just think he is getting a very low key edit. When he talks to Jilly he is completely focussed on her, so attentive and affectionate. When he smiles he is gorgeous. I think it should be Kip, however, to me it seems too obvious to be true. I think our Jill is afraid to go for what she wants (thinks she will be disappointed). I felt that way about my hubby too. It took time to see that though and Jill does not have that! (Guess I am a minority in the Kip love!)
I still don’t get all the Ed love. Sorry. And I would have loved to see that talk with his dad – un-edited! Does it bug anyone else that Ed kept saying I flew them in? I am sure ABC had something to do with it!

What if it has been Kip all along and ABC just did everything they could to drum up drama suggesting Ed comes back, the bedroom (they went places they have never gone before!) and kept Kip low key to keep us all guessing?

He looked like such a dork standing next to Reid and Kip in their casual but cool suit look. I am so surprised she could look at him like that and still pick him. Maybe she isn’t as shallow as I am.!
Anyone else think the Ed in the bed scene was staged? With Kip, the cameras went away quickly, with Reid, they didn’t film any fondling in the bathtub. But with Ed, they stayed around for the hot oil rub, the back straddle, etc. It was all a little gross and awkward. Jill maybe able to be a porn star in front of the cameras, but obviously E.D. can’t.
I think the big confession coming up is that Reid comes back and confesses that he loves her.
I hope Wes is on neext week and gets booed off the stage.

And seriously with the helicopter rides? I said to my roommate, “There are more helicopters in this show than in a helicopter store!”
I agree, the whole bedroom scene between Jill and Downcast Eyes seemed staged to me. It makes me sad when I see women trying too hard to be sexy, like that hot tub scene b/w Jillian and Jason. The whole oil rubbing thing was just gross. Her scenes with Reid are the only ones that looked natural.
Did anyone else notice the not-so-subtle pit smell Ed pulled right as Jillie got up to change into her sleezy nightshirt?? He reached that arm right up there and gave it a whiff! I can’t believe the editors didn’t catch that. Or maybe they did…

Was I the only one that got tired of all of Jillian’s crotch shots? If she’s going to wear short skirts, at least sit lady like and don’t put the camera at an angle where you can see everything.

During the part when Ed’s father was waiting for his mom to stand up so he and Jill could take a walk…. my hubby suddenly blurted out, “Where is my stapler… I need my red stapler…” and I almost choked from laughter.
I’m sorry, but I’m sick of all three guys… well, two, now. Ed just creeps me out and Kiptyn is just a bumblehead. Then again, Jill’s a bit dense, so she’ll do well with whichever guy she figures out is the lesser of the weirdos.

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I am actually relieved that Reid was cut loose. Now he can find himself a nice girl who will not be upset that he doesn’t celebrate Christmas. And will find someone who will allow him let his emotions flow in his time. I admire him for not rushing the “love” word with Squealy. She spoke all about finding her best friend with Melba Toast. What happened to that? I feel she’s in love with the idea of love. Give me a man who can make me laugh, treats me like his queen, is dependable, can carry on a conversation, who I am attracted to, and you know what, I’m guaranteed to fall in love.
And I totally fell for Reid when he said “I’m four. I like you this much” OMG what an ADORABLE man!
Ok, I was dreading this episode bc I watch this show with my teenage daughters. On one hand it’s good bc we have had lots of conversations about dating, and what real love is and for sure ISN”T. Last night , and this episode of every season, is the one where they must leave the room for all the fantasy suite crap.(AW, Mom!!! We KNOW how NOT to act! Come ON! ) INAPPROPRIATE! Too, too much for prime time. And it just plain ol’ creeps me out that she’s with 3 guys in a few days. It’s just gross.
I don’t blame Ed for the problems in the suite. That’s a pretty unromantic setting (cameramen right there!)to be getting all intimate with someone. He’s just too hot to have that problem in the real world.
P.S. I liked the green shorts. I wore some just like them in 1977 when I was 8, and a tomboy!
#49 – I was going to bring up the pit check as well. I had to rewind the DVR to make sure he was truly smelling his pits! Obviously Ed forgot the cameras were there at that moment, but when it came down to doing the nitty gritty the cameras were an obtrusion. Poor Ed. Loved you from the beginning, but now i am on Team Reid. So sad he was let go!
Long time reader…first time poster….But I just cannot keep quiet on the shorts! When Ed walked out in the tank and tiny green shorts, my husband said “Hey, I have a picture in that same outfit when I was 4! And it was 1982!!” I died laughing…it totally looked like a little kid’s outfit from the 80s! I think I even saw the faded Mickey Mouse on the front of the tank!
Is it just me or did you find it rude at the rose ceremony when Jillian came out and said that she was falling in love with all 3 guys, but at least she was falling in love. I was just kind of like, really, did you need to say that? They’re all well aware of the other guys I know, but somehow this just seemed like a slap in the face like regardless of what happens at least I’m in love. just rubbed me the wrong way!

As for Ed, I’m getting the feeling he was kind of her pick all along… and the drama of sending him home was to give the producers something to do.
As the seasons wear on I’m getting tired of the drama. I know, I know… a lot of it is manufactured. But I’d really LOVE a season where they really do just fall in love… they really do have feelings… there is no crazy manipulation & editing. (hello… Ed leaves & then comes back. Totally producer driven.) I’m just bored with the drama and I hate thinking that everything is fake. (ok, I know a lot of it is) What I loved about this show for so long was that it took you on a fantasy of falling in love. You were just watching it happen to some other people. You got to feel those butterflies they were feeling… you got the jitters for the big date… just like they did. You got that strange feeling in the pit of your stomach when they started reading crazy poetry… haha. Anyway… I’d just love it if the show would go back to its roots and let things develop for real. They might have more success that way.

#41 – I totally think its Ed that has/had a girlfriend. I think the “job” thing was a cover up; he was confused and had to break it off with the girlfriend because he developed feelings for Jill. What boss says, “Okay, yeah go back to your reality show, my email is back up and running.”

I think the shocking finale rose ceremony is: Kiptonite says he is ready, but she picks Ed, Ed then confesses of previously having a girlfriend and then Reid comes back and proposes throwing Jill completely into a world of confusion and ends up picking Reid! It’s that or I really need to stop watching reality TV LOL!!

I, too, feel awful for Reid. It’s plain as day that he’s been hurt before, and it seemed like he was just waiting for Jillian to reject him. Meanwhile, she put so much pressure on him, it was unbelievable! I truly believe that if she had just relaxed and let him do his thing, he would have laid his heart on the line. And that surprises me, because I thought that Jillian was the one saying at the beginning of the show – “Let’s not get too heavy-handed with the H-word (husband)”. Meaning that she wasn’t convinced that coming out of the show with a ring on her finger was as important as finding the right person first. Am I not remembering this correctly?
So what’s going on suddenly with her so determined to come home engaged? Also, what the what about all her “I’m looking for my best friend” talk? Hello?! He was right in front of you, and you bullied him away!
I don’t know – I’ve never really cared for Ed from the beginning. I definitely don’t hate him, or even really dislike him, I just kind of feel very “meh” about him. I wasn’t buying it at all when he told her he was falling in love with her via videotape. At least Kip and Reid had the guts to be honest with her and take it slowly.
Ed just doesn’t do it for me. He reminds me of the brother on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” without the sense of humor. But I think it’s interesting that we’ve talked so much about him wearing Sprout’s shorts and not at all about Squeallian’s horrid tank top dress on Reid’s date. I love that Reid was not willing to “buy time” by saying that he loved her. I wish he hadn’t regretted this decision in the limo ride home. I think a lot of bad relationships and marriages could be avoided if more people would give the L-word the weight and consideration it deserves!

I’m sorry but Ed seemed like a “dork” last night. Those awful outfits, his hair looked wierd, then sniffing his pits in the FS. WHY did they leave that in?? Frankly, I’ve never understood what everyone sees in him. He doesn’t seem to have that much personality to me.
IMO, Reid was a cutie and seemed like a “class act”. I really hated to see him go but I’m glad he didn’t let Jillian force him into saying he would propose. You just can’t force things and all she seems interested in is a proposal. (That and “suckin’ face” all the time.) Going on all these special dates, not working, no family issues or responsibility, no money problems….what happens when they get back to day to day life?
So much to say about last night and happy that I’m not the first to mention Jilly’s unfortunate camel-toe in her yellow and white bikini! Yikes! I think she wishes she was this confident, independent person that doesn’t want to take things too quickly, but ultimately, she is someone who wants and needs reassurance that the other person loves her and wants to marry her before she can make any decisions about them. I am just surprised that she kept Kiptyn and let Reid go, because it just seemed like Reid was a lot more into her than Kiptyn is.
And for those of you who are reading Reality Steve and other sources out there, please don’t tell us what he says here. If I remember correctly he broke the news about Melba, Mel and Molly last season before it aired, and that really took the fun and suspense out of it for me. I avoid him on purpose. Thanks!
#11 Hate to show my stupidity but just what is a “cameltoe”? Guess I will have to watch the show again to catch some things I missed.
I liked Ed at the beginning of the season, but noticed the dork factor on their 1-on-1 date when he had on the scrunched down white crew socks. As the season has progressed, he’s gotten ickier and ickier to me. I can’t explain it except that maybe Reid (love him!!!) was pushing Ed aside in my eyes. Last night, Ed acted and dressed like a total geek and I can’t believe she kept him. I was very sad to see Reid leave, but maybe it is a good thing. Kiptyn grew on me last night, but she is way too insecure about him! This show is getting close to running its course with me.

I really liked Reid and thought they had chemistry, but I think he knowingly sabotaged his chances by not answering her questions. Perhaps the possibility of having to make a decision at the final rose ceremony scared him too much. I would find his indecision very annoying after a while.

I think Kiptyn saying “Let’s do this” is exactly the kind of jargon Jilly likes to hear. It goes with her belief that she is a spontaneous, crazy, fun-lovin’ kind of gal, so let’s do this!…as long as he will ALSO allude to the fact that he absolutely loves her and wants to marry her. I mean, let’s face it, people on the Bachelorette are in LOVE with their overused phrases–i.e., “Not here for the right reasons,” “I want to find my best friend,” blahblahblah.

Never been as mad at a TV show as I was last night. Can’t belive Jill sent Reid home, even after she said that she was falling in love with him. The chemistry and feelings were there, so why wouldn’t she take a ‘leap of faith’ with Reid and just trust her feelings? You know, they say love don’t come easy, so what does she expect? Reid is one of the smartest people in Bachelor history, because he didn’t buy into the whole proposal thing. He really liked her, but wasn’t about to propose only after being on a TV show. Doesn’t Jill know the track record of previous B’s and B-ettes? And didn’t Kiptyn say the same thing, that he couldn’t promise a proposal? And the video diaries, Kip’s was the worst! “Lets do this thing” come on, that was un-heartfelt in my opinion. Okay, I’ve ranted enough. I don’t want Reid to be the next Bachelor (I really don’t think he’d do it anyway), but will miss seeing him on TV.
I think we all need to take up a collection to allow for Lincee to be able to go to a 4-day work week, take off Tuesdays and get her recap up ASAP. It’s obvious none of us have anything better to do than comment on this blog and continue clicking refresh all the livelong day. I like Kiptyn but don’t believe for a second there is any depth to their relationship. Nada. Ed, where to begin? The comments so far pretty much say it all. I hated the clothes but will give him one point for the nice legs. He DOESN’T look at Jillian. He comes off as disinterested and bored with it all. I really didn’t like the bedroom scenes with Ed, couldn’t they have left that out? Yuck!
What I don’t understand about the whole e.d. situation in the f.s. is why did we have to find out about that. If that is what happened to him, why didn’t they just cuddle talk and try it again in the morning. Although, I don’t care how hot, tired, sun-burned I am, if I’m in a new relationship and we’ve had amazing chemistry thus far and it’s our fist night together – I just don’t see how the e.d. can happen. I’m a guy and I’ve been watching the Bach’ette with a friend girl of mine all season. I’ve never been that big into either show (Bach or Bach’ette), as these relationships never work out (Trista is the big exception thus far… I did watch her season). Recall the debacle of Joe Millionaire (not sure if that really counts in the grand scheme of things) as well… but I digress. The show has given my friend and I much fodder to discuss relationship issues and what it means to pursue love for a lifetime.
My friend loves this blog, and thus has turned me on to it. I’ve lurked for several weeks, reading the posts and the comments. For some reason today, I felt like writing something.
#78 – The video on that website is hilarious. I had not a clue what cameltoe was and I saw the movie Dance Flick (which was over-the-top [of course], but I got some good laughs from it) and didn’t get the joke about the dance teacher. I was just grossed out with her split hoof display. Now I know what to call that! Nuff said on that!
I was a Jake fan… he attends the same church as my friend. In retrospect, I’m glad he didn’t get this far. I think he and Jillian wouldn’t have worked out in the long term… I sensed a lot of differences between those two that were not portrayed / discussed on camera. I think Jake will do well for himself and will find his lifetime love. I’m mixed on him being the next Bach. It would be interesting to see where he would “bend” his character and where he might “break” his convictions. The conflict would make for interesting drama, but some things do not need to be played out publicly… much like Ed and Jillian in the FS. Not a good thing.
Sad to see Reid leave. What happened to the glasses? I thought the glasses were cool and gave Reid a distinctive look that differentiated him from the rest of the guys. Even so, I guess that as he went further along in the show, there was no need to be that visually distinct.
I agree with the ladies who’ve pegged Jillian as somewhat of an emotional “bully”. Love rarely means anything if it’s not willingly given. Oddly enough, I do believe I understand Jillian. She’s been burned previously and she’s wanting to make sure she has some clue as to where these guys stand. Still, I believe Love goes beyond a mere verbal expression and manifests itself in tangible ways that can reach the heart even when the ears aren’t engaged. Of the three (and it certainly can be debated), Reid appeared to be the more loving, though he was fearful with his emotions. What he could not do with his lips, he tried to do with heart; but in the end here, hearing, more than feeling, apparently meant more to Jillian. If the comments of you ladies mean anything, Reid won’t be hurting for attention and candidates.
I’ve been an Ed fan (not be confused with an ED fan… don’t think I’ll ever want to be a fan of that!), but yesterday felt a bit strange. Again, the whole FS fiasco was disturbing. I’m not sure who was trying to force what during that time. Was it Jillian? Was it the producers? The scene, much like Reid, Jillian, and the extra bath bubbles, felt very contrived. I’d like to know what Ed’s father meant with that outburst in Hawaii.
I felt a bit sorry for Kip standing there by himself at the end, after the rose ceremony. That was a harbinger / omen for me. I think Jillian will pick Ed in the end.
Again, the MTA should be interesting, and I certainly will watch the finale, albeit with a little less enthusiasm with the departure of Reid.

I think Reid comes back and professes his love for her and proposes…I think Ed (or Kippy) tell her some stuff that she doesn’t want to hear…she turns them both down…and then goes back to Reid!!! I so adore Reid!!! At least that’s what I hope happens anyway. She keeps saying there is a twist – in the last 5 minutes (that’s what she said in some Canadian interview). I really adore Ed…and folks, I find his hotness in nerds clothing is kind of endearing! My husband was such a good looking guy, but he TOTALLY did not know how to dress himself…..(he NEEDED me!) I’m still in mourning…Reid was my pick. He’s hilarious and the most real. I’m hoping he comes back and sweeps Jillian off of her feet and finally articulates how he feels. I’m frustrated that Jillian has this need for a man to express himself verbally, when there are so many other forms of communication. If she could really tell by looking into Reid’s eyes that he was falling in love with her, then why not give him a rose? I’m just heartbroken for Reid. Is he really not going to be on the “Men Tell All” show? I hope that means he comes back on the last episode. Maybe she’ll realize what a mistake she made.
The other thing I wanted to mention was do you think the camera/cameramen are right there during the FS scenes? Or is it more like The Hills where are far away and zoomed in??

From his leaving while keeping a rose, to the dozens of shots of them making out in Spain (i mean really, who gets in a water fountain just to make out), to the whole fantasy suite ordeal. ABC never shows what goes on in the fantasy suite after the guy gets up and closes the door…I mean, did Ed just forget he’s supposed to close the door?

I guess I am not understanding all the disbelief re: Jill pressuring Reid on his feelings. She’s got 3 guys she has strong feelings for–two of them (one more so than the other) are saying how much they care for her, are able to articulate future plans (and not just throw them back to her) and are not telling her that their biggest flaw is they are indecisive. If all things were equal and I had to choose between these guys, I would put him at #3 every time. I think the assumption being made is that all things AREN’T equal and that she does/should care for Reid more than she does, but if that were true, she would be more patient (i.e. De with Graham). I think the fact that she let him go now says that her feelings for Reid are at best just not stronger than they are with Kip and Ed.

Very good point Missy! She does have to make a decision after all. Even if she put the proposal aside and the “I love you” aside and was satisfied with just dating after the show, it wouldn’t be all that easy. Reid lives in PA. She lives in Canada. It wouldn’t work unless both parties were fully willing and commited to make it work. “I like you a lot” probably wouldn’t cut it.
I loved Ed’s shorts, but I’m a leg girl. I think he wore them b/c he gets a kick out of them and knew Jillian would, too. But he could’ve changed out of them post swimming. His tank top . . . I put myself in denial and pretended he was wearing a t-shirt. I put myself in denial again at the rose ceremony and pictured Ed in a different outfit.
The whole ED thing. I could see how it happened. It happens, and the poor guy was so distraught over it, you could tell he was embarassed.
As for the overnight stays, I put myself in denial once again – BUT maybe it’s the truth -that the just hard core mess around, and DON’T have sex.
I wonder if it occurred to Jill that maybe it’s hard for these guys to say they will propose to her b/c they are real guys in the real world that know a relationship has to develop no matter if the tv show is only for 2 months. This should give her confidence in the men she picked b/c they are REAL and GOOD people.
The fact that Jillian was literally sitting on top of Ed to get his attention, I’m surprised she didn’t grab something to hit him with on the head – like the bedside lamp….or the massage oil bottle.

Reid was my very favorite contestant. At first, it was Kypton, but Reid, without having a “define the relationship” talk or telling me he’d move wherever or even saying he loved me (I mean, come ON Ed!!), I fell for him regardless. I felt so terrible for him.

Also, I wanted to make a quick point about the whole falling asleep thing. On another site I am on, someone was looking at Ed’s watch at different times throughout the day and just based on what she could see, this whole “date” was AT LEAST 18 hours–OMG!! I really think that 18 hours of stress with meeting the parents, being on camera (when he is clearly so uncomfortable with that) coupled with wine and a sunburn would take down even the most hot-to-trot men/couples. Jill doesn’t even mention it in her blog today, so I really think a much bigger deal was made by the producers than what was made by Ed and Jill.
#145 – I disagree. Even Ed made a big deal about it. When she questioned him at the rose ceremony, he had to promise her that nothing like that would ever happen again and that she had nothing to worry about.
I am sure that having a bunch of cameras on him might have given him a little “stage fright”. Well, the good thing is that Jilly won’t ever have to worry about him taking up a career in the adult film business
#109 – Sabrina — I totally agree, I didn’t like how Jillian just brushed off Reid after he got dumped, like ok, just LEAVE NOW, c’mon, get to your exit limo now. UGH. He looked like he was on the verge of tears in the limo. Poor Reid, I’m glad he stuck to his guns and didn’t tell Jill that he loved her just because she wanted him to say it, he wanted to wait until he was ready. (I missed his glasses this episode, too).
Jillian and Ed’s FS date was just so awkward and uncomfortable to watch! at least Ed’s dad was honest…what the hell are we doing here? Frankly, I hardly noticed Ed’s unfortunate choice in clothing — I just thought he was a sad sack the whole time, from the “I’ve missed you so much,” to the ‘rents, to the fiasco in the suite. I was quite surprised (horrified actually) that she would kick Reid to the curb because he wouldn’t promise her the moon and stars — hasn’t this girl learned anything from these shows? Has she no life experience that she hasn’t learned to recognize that words are cheap? Reid and Kiptyn always treated her wonderfully, with attention, affection, and interest. Ed has been so damn busy bragging about how absorbed in his business he is….I ask you, how is his attitude toward his work all that much worse than the Silly Songwriter?
Were I Jillian I’d be VERY suspicious of a guy who takes off suddenly, returns suddenly, declares himself to be in love (mind you, he’s been around her less than the others), evidently can’t “perform” satisfactorily but has plenty of excuses for it, and begs her, literally, to trust him!
Not to denigrate Ed, but comparing that behavior (impulsive, over-eager — borderline desperate, in my book) to the more reasoned and calmer (and more mature) approaches taken by both Kip and Reid, it seems to me that either (1) Jillian wants a happy ending on the show with absolutely no concerns for who the other part of the equation includes, or (2) she herself isn’t mature enough to recognize all of the “danger, danger” signals coming from Ed.
Reid is an absolute sweetie. In my younger years I would have done just about anything to have a chance with a gentleman like Reid. Kip is right up there too. Ed is a guy with one MASSIVE load of baggage.

#135 – I’ve been sworn to secrecy concerning the church!
From what I understand, I suspect that Jake may be in hiding until the MTA. Afterwards, I bet he will make his appearance at church. All I will say is that it is a rather large church, and the Dallas-Fort Worth area has quite a number of mega churches.
This leads to another thought that I shared with my friend: with all of the single ladies within that church, I wonder what prompted Jake to go on the Bach’ette? Granted, I don’t know how long he’s been there and how active he is within the life of the fellowship. Depending on his flight schedule, I can imagine him being away quite a bit. If Jake was having a hard time with the ladies there prior to the Bach’ette, I suspect he will get MOBBED now. Ladies will come out of the proverbial “woodworks” to have a slice of his time. Still, why does it require TV for him to get noticed? Same thing concerning Reid.
Heck, I got swept up on Team Reid. Yet, I wonder: if Reid was not on the show, would he still get this sort of attention? The neuroticism of Reid we all seem to love… would it be so lovely if the cameras never existed?
I know, I know… don’t get me wrong… I’m in love with romance. I write poetry and love to talk about love… real love, not just under-the-sheets frolicking. I love the fantasy and beauty of all of this we see in the Bach’ette. However, reality shows are about everything BUT reality.
Sorry, I’m on a tangent here.
I hope that with whomever Jillian picks that she considers going through some good, tough premarital counseling. Not everyone thinks this is necessary. Seriously though, how much has she and her potentials talked about hard issues in depth? Perhaps, she has, and those things have been edited out because they’re “boring.” Issues such as in-laws, children, parenting, financial matters, physical intimacy, life goals, recreational interests, and other things need to be placed on the table for serious consideration. Hopefully, she and her choice will find someone to take them “out of the clouds” and get them talking, sharing, thinking, and feeling at levels of depth not possible on the show. That (the counseling) will be the best reality show for she and her potential beau, and no producers will be able to script or force the outcome of that. I wish her the best, but I have this nagging feeling that she will be another Bach’ette statistic. Still, let’s hope for the best.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but my mother pointed out to me that Ed wearing the “mankini” all day is the obvious cause of his inability to perform in the FS – lack of blood flow to the boys can cause serious problems!

#95 i like your post for the most part, but I disagree with your understanding Jillian. I think all of us have been in a relationship at somepoint where the other person SAYS “I love you” but their actions contradict what they are saying. If Jillian wants to continue down the road of “Mr. Wrong” she can just go on believing what the guys say to her. If you think about it, these guys have been on a total of 5 or 6 dates with her, in real life it would be considered “psycho” if someone was dropping L-Bombs on date numer 5. Not only that, but Ed missed 2 date opportunities, and HE was the one who said he loved her? It just doesn’t make sense. Jillian has said over and over again that she wants her best friend, someone who is real, who she can be herself around, and who makes her laugh. She had all of that with Reid, but she could not seem to relax long enough to let him develop feelings at a NORMAL pace. It seems like she is way more concern with finding someone who will propose rather than finding the one who is actually RGHT for her.
If it were up to me, I would rather be with the one who takes a year or two to propse, rather than the one who propses after six weeks and then is out the door after six months. It’s just silly and I think she is still making very immature decisions.
Okay….I have to ask, if anyone has the entire season tivo’d could you go back and count how many times Jillian straddles the dudes on this show? She wraps her legs around every man in sight.

As this is the first BachelorETTE season I’ve watched, I have a basic, but maybe dumb question…
Why after weeks and weeks of doing the choosing, does the Bachelorette herself not do the proposing? I don’t really get how this is going to end… Jilly says, “I choose you” to one and then waits expectantly for her choice to go down on one knee? AWK-ward. So, in theory, both Kip and Ed could be going ring shopping? It’s just weird. Why the double standard? The Bachelor chooses on his show and therefore tells F1 just how much he likes her by proposing (or not) at the end… I just don’t get it.
Mind you, I myself wanted to be proposed TO by my BF (now fiance). But I wasn’t on this show. Given the set-up (she always calls the shots on who stays regardless of how they (poooooor Reid) feel in return)… why the sudden switch-up at the end?
I also don’t get how it JUST SO HAPPENS that every person picked by the Bachelor/ette ALWAYS is smitten with the person in return and it is just assumed that they want to be with that person. I seem to vaguely remember a contestant once letting herself go because she wasn’t into the Bachelor, but in reality that should happen a lot more often. I guess the fact that there’s a cash bonus for making it to the final four helps explain that.

We’re all making assessments based on caricatures of her, as displayed through the show, and our own experiences and emotions. I agree completely!! I said in an earlier post that I was getting a gay vibe from Ed last night. The crossed legs, the sibilant “S” s in his speech, and those short shorts…the tank top didn’t help much, either. Maybe the reason his dad asked “what the hell are we doing here?” is because he was under the impression that Ed batted for the other team.
Commenting on the whole falling asleep thing… My parents got married at age 22 and 23, and my dad fell asleep on my mom on the honeymoon night!! He will never live it down. She went into the bathroom to put on something dreamy (in the 1960s), came out all virginal, fluffy-haired and ready, and my dad was totally asleep!! He had drank at the wedding, been up really late the night before, and with all of the stress was exhausted. My mom was tearful as they had totally waited to do anything!! My mom was beautiful, my dad was a stud, they were so excited to get married, and it happened.
Plus, call me crazy, but I loved Ed’s suit at the end. Very J.Crew – and if Ed is a yuppie from Chicago, that is what he would be wearing.

I have loved reading this blog while watching almost all of the bachelor seasons, but i have never posted before. I had to come to the defense of Ed and his short shorts. I live in Orange County, in So. California and those shorts are all the rage this summer. Not all guys are switching over, but they are in all the stores around here and along the coast. I think Ed’s great, but got some different vibes from him last night. I was really bummed to see Reid leave. He is a total class act!
