I blame the green shorty shorts

I’m still holding out that this is a bad, bad rumor…

I had three emails from IHGB readers Sara, Andy and Amber this morning.  You can imagine my glee SHOCK when I read this and this

But then we get this!

I say we take a vote my friends.

Is Ed a cheese ass?  Sound off in the comments section.

  1. LP Said,

I say cheese ass!! Not that I’m into all of the conspiracy theories always being thrown about, but Reality Steve did completely call this weeks ago, while the show was still going. Just sayin’… :)

  2. andy Said,

did he fool us all? could he be worse than Wes??

Kympton is probably showing off in the mirror looking at his abs laughing ( I may need a video of that!)– Reid may be crying in a corner!

I swear I saw the Denver Pizza boy on his bike last week

As a Canadian I am disappointed that her hot dog theory could be proven wrong ~

  3. Lori Said,

    She should have picked Reid!

  4. Lauren Said,

Cheese Ass! Where there’s smoke, there’s fire! Poor Jillian–Girl can’t catch a break!

  5. Lauren Said,

I wonder though if his two ex-girlfriends just want to get their 15 minutes of fame………

  6. Stacey Said,

Yes, Ed is a bit of a cheese-ass and I thought he came across that way, especially after he came back from his break. However, I’m with Lauren, there has to be more to the story. Can’t imagine why these women would want to give details of their sex lives with Ed and tell America that they’d been two-timed unless they want fame or they’re making it up. If you just want to tell Jillian, well then, you don’t need all the major gossip magazines to do that. Yes, Ed is a bit of a cheese-ass and I thought he came across that way, especially after he came back from his break.

  7. Lindsey Said,

Has anyone picked up US Weekly to see the “evidence”? I am just not sure if I believe these women would be doing whatever it is they’re doing just for fame and attention — not really the kind of attention most people would want, right? I agree with Lauren — where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Well said. I was a big Ed fan at the beginning but thought he didn’t come across nearly as well after he came back. This just adds to a general sense of sketchiness…

  8. Betsy Said,

How do you tell Jillian without the help of the press?! Call Ed and ask for her number because you want to tell Jillian the truth?!

I think it’s true, though I hope I am wrong. And it underscores my belief that Jillian is a bit of a nitwit.

    Bleh.

  9. Animal Lover Said,

How was it that he was supposedly texting etc,. during the filming of the show when everyone associated with the show said they have no access to computers, cell phones etc,. I do believe there is probably an underlying grain of truth in there some where but not to the degree these two ladies are claiming. I think that his parents would have had more reservation with him taking such a big step if they knew he had been dating some one right before he started the show. Jason & “Mol” have whethered the storm…let’s see if these two do the same!

  10. Brandy Said,

I say cheese ass too. Obviously there is some truth to the story because Jillian admits that Ed had these girls at least up until the point of her and Ed getting engaged.

What I find funny is how she changed her tune. Before when foot fetish Tanner told her a couple guys had girlfriends, Jillian got so upset and couldn’t believe that a guy would come there with a girlfriend back home. Wes was, in turn, made a major villain (and rightly so). I don’t understand how she is now ok with Ed basically doing the same thing… But, I guess she now figures that everything before they were engaged is fine. Whatever gets her through the day I suppose.

  11. Shannon Said,

I totally believe he cheated, it wouldn’t surprise me at all, especially since Reality Steve already hinted about this a few weeks ago. I think Jillian is in some serious denial right now and doesn’t want to end up looking stupid but my money is on them being broken up within a month. If it were only one girl I would say maybe she’s lying but TWO girls. Come on!

  12. Jennifer Said,

    Team Cheese Ass

I knew he couldn’t save his job that quickly. If his role was so vital and necessary, he couldn’t simply wrap up all he needed to do in two weeks.

Poor Jilly, kind of. This is the girl who was swept off her feet by “Love Don’t Come Easy.”

  13. SC Said,

I think it’d be a bit libelous (sp?) to quote two women, who insist they have emails/texts if it wasn’t true. Hm.

  14. Shelby Said,

I smell a rat…I will weigh the evidence when I get my US Weekly this week…but I think its true…I hope Jill still has Reid’s number.

  15. Lindsey Said,

Maybe this explains Ed’s dad’s “What the hell are we doing here??” during the parent visit — as in, “What the hell are we doing here meeting this chick when you have a GF back home?” And our good friends the editors just conveniently left out the rest of whatever he said…

  16. Jenny G Said,

Saw this interview and thought I’d share it, in case nobody’s seen it. Can’t tell if Jillian is mad at the press for bringing this out, mad at Ed for being a DB, or mad at herself. Could be a little bit of everything.

    http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=3906861&cl=14913093&ch=4226715&src=news

  17. SC Said,

Jenny, I JUST came on to post that… what the WHAT?!? A timeline, emails, photos, a wedding… holy cow. Hard to argue hard evidence!

  18. Not so sure... Said,

    http://www.usmagazine.com/news/bachelorette-winner-cheated-with-two-different-women-200958

Here’s what someone just sent me…. :( Say it isn’t sooooooo!!!!!!!

  19. m&m Said,

OF COURSE Jillian believes Ed. That’s so typical. She gave Wes the benefit of the doubt for way too long, why wouldn’t she act differently for Ed, who is now her fiance? I hope she eventually sees that she made a bad decision picking Ed (TEAM REID over here).

  20. Patty Said,

I think it’s true, I heard rumors about at least one girlfriend during the airing of the show and that is why he went back home, not because of work. I think Jillian is going to play dumb for at least a little while because let’s face it, who wants to end up looking like an idiot a week after the show finished airing?

  21. AggieFan Said,

I just can’t believe Ed would be so callous. I totally get the whole “falling in love” with several people at once. It has happened to me. It happens. Just maybe Ed left the show to see those girls one more time to help solidify his decision. I know that sounds tacky, but it happens. Maybe he wanted to make sure in his own mind that Jillian is “The One”. Give him a break and believe that this silly little show really can produce a love match.

They always say there’s only been one success story. That is not true. There has only been one marriage thus far. But Charlie and his girl are still (again) together, Byron and Mary are still together and there is one other couple but I forget who (J&M—can’t even stand to say their names)….that is four couples made on this show that are still together, and some of them for years now. Just because they’ve had a few arguments and they were made public doesn’t mean anything. We all have arguments with our significant other.

I am going to believe that Jill & Ed make it until I have confirmation that they have split. I love them together!

However, Byron & Mary are still my absolute favorite couple. I loved how he learned how to propose in Spanish so her mother could fully understand his proposal. And I love the fact that they are two mature adults over the age of 35….don’t get me wrong, I love this show with all its young hotties, but it is nice to see a hot, older-than-35 man once in awhile! Ok, there’s my two cents, for what that’s worth.

  22. JL Said,

These two women are probably getting paid for this “story”. I’m sure there is some truth mixed in there but as we have seen with most tabloid stories there is more exaggeration than truth. Time will tell.

  23. amy Said,

pretty sure byron and mary are no longer together..seeing as she was arrested after she assulted him..maybe not a great sucess story..

  24. Kimberly Said,

    Cheese ass. Definitely.

  25. Tagnj Said,

I’ve read recently that Byron and Mary are still together, even after the domestic assault or whatever. I really liked Byron, too, and liked that they were a little older.

I dunno…Ed…not looking good. How can he get so many girls with such awful clothing? Does he dress better in Chicago?

REID was the way to go, Jillian!! Duh! We were all telling you that! I hope he is the next Bachelor so we can see more of him.

  26. junoesq Said,

Mary was arrested after assaulting Byron, but they are still together….Also, OHCH made the point that a number of the people on the show very quickly were able to go out and find The One because of what they learned about themselves and what was important to them on the show, even if the show itself did not produce a match – I think they should make more of that fact when dealing with all the “there’s only been one success” naysayers.

We have no idea what Ed told Jill all along. For all we know, he may have told her all about his rekindled relationship with his former college sweetie and this is all old news to Jill. People all the time fall hard in love for person B, even when they are at the time dating person A. It’s not like Ed and this Lauren person were married or even living together or had even been together (again) all that long before Ed left for the show. I was not an Ed fan – I definitely preferred Reid – but I think all this is just ridiculous and Jillian is totally right to say that she’s not going to address it in the media. She is the only one who knows if Ed was up front and honest about the situation and she says he was and that’s good enough for me.

  27. houstonlawyer Said,

A Cheese Ass. I never liked Ed very much to begin with. His shy basset hound persona just doesn’t do it for me. And the fact that he always looks down and rarely looks Jillian in the eyes bugs the heck out of me. In my experience, no relationship involving other women drama ends up lasting. Definitively shoulda chosen Reid.

  28. Kendall Said,

His crappy story is so full of holes it’s seriously Swiss Cheese-Ass, people.

Wonder if ABC would let Jillian do a ‘woe is me, I made a mistake’ episode with Reid and let him say, “Too bad, you screwed up darlin!” to the world.

  29. pittkrew Said,

Thanks Jenny G for posting the news clip. I loved how Jillian said she would not handle this in the media anymore after that nterview. That just shows that she wasn’t in this for the fame otherwise she would have wanted her next fifteen even if it was for bad reasons.
Whatever is going on, why can’t everyone just get on with their lives and let them deal with it. They were gracious enough to allow us into their “romance” story for the weeks that ABC had control but they never signed on to be our business for the remainder of their lives. And as Jillian said, there are more important things to worry aboot.
I totally agree with JL. These women are getting paid. Is there some truth to their story. Probably but even the slightest truth can be made to look horrible in the hands of tabloids. ANYONE, who believes everything they read in a tabloid needs their head examined. It is all about the money they can make and lets face it, this is going to sell lots more and longer than just a love story would have.
Happy/not happy, in love/not in love, forever/not forever, who really cares! It was a great season and all around made up for the garbage that was handed to all of America by ABC when Jason was on.
And BTW Reid was/is a great guy but he was to neurotic for her. I read a ton of posts by people on this site who totally agreed until it looked like he was the front runner then everyone forgot.
Let it go people! She chose Ed for better or worse it is her problem to deal with it now.

  30. saggleo Said,

I think Byron and Mary are still together, but that whole volatile relationship thing…I wouldn’t put them on my list for this show as a success.

This is a trip! I don’t like Jillian saying it’s a double standard since she was falling for two guys before she got engaged. Not the same thing honey…you are openly on a show about finding your mate..and HE KNOWS about the other guy AT THE TIME!!! If this is true, and hate to say it but it may be, leaving and going off on a “story about a job” to screw two women and coming back to “win” isn’t the same thing. That’s called being a cheeseass! You can’t tell me you feel so strongly for someone that you have to leave to go screw other people first to know for sure…then you DON’T LOVE THAT PERSON!

And this …I had feelings for her (the other woman) still when we got engaged…then DON’T GET ENGAGED!!! There’s a difference between having feelings and hoping that things are well for that person…but having strong feelings or wanting to be them still your heart isn’t free for any one else yet.

  31. Hannah Said,

    Should have picked Reid!

  32. Drew Said,

    Cheese ass.

Remember how on the original audio Tanner mentioned THREE (3) guys with gfs before that got edited down. My guess is that Ed was one of them. . .

Let’s face it, our Jilly likes trips down the River (De)Nile.

  33. Tabatha Said,

Cheese ass!!! Ever since he couldn’t get it up he grosses me out.

  34. Sociopath cheese ass Said,

Ed’s bashfulness puts me in mind of my old boyfriend who was big and bumbling and charming and turned out to be a pathological liar with two other girlfriends. When I first knew him I thought “this one is harmless, and he’s so cute.” I came to regret that, and ever thereafter when I have that reaction to someone I run in the other direction. He is not worth it! He’s not that cute! Meanwhile, I applaud Jillian for holding her head up. She will do well.

  35. plynn Said,

    100% Grade A CHEESE ASS!

  36. Jillywill Said,

    Pied piper of cheese asses

  37. Sherri Said,

SUCH a cheese ass…..should’ve picked Reid, girl!

  38. suzi Said,

ring ring- Reid- Jilli is looking for a place to live!

  39. Melanna Said,

Something about Ed hasn’t sat well with me since the beginning, so if this is true, I wouldn’t be surprised. I agree that she should have picked Reid. And what’s with the other woman being named Lauren??

I have a question. In proper etiquette, if a girl is engaged and she breaks it off, she should give the ring back to the guy. If the guy breaks it off, she gets to keep the ring. How does that work if ABC pays for it? Does she keep the ring no matter what, or would they come get it? If she gets to keep it, maybe that’s why she wanted an engagement so bad. That way if it didn’t work out, she could hawk the ring and hopefully make back some of her missed wages from quitting her job… It’s almost a win/win!

  40. Shameless Said,

    CHEESE. ASS.

Did you watch the Good Morning America interview? http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=8251834&page=1

That says it all, in my opinion. Their defense is basically “People are out to destroy us because we are one of the few happy couples to come out of the show.” Please! Everyone seems “happy” just days after the finale airs.

Is it possible these two chicks previously dated him and were jealous and pissed off, so they concocted a lie? Ummm I’d guess the probability of that is 5% or less, especially since it makes them look really bad (he was apparently cheating on them with each other, and THEN he goes on a reality show ‘looking for love.’ These poor girls look like morons.)

I always thought something was off with Ed and I didn’t trust him. I could totally see him being a pathological liar and cheater who charms women into believing him.

I feel bad for Jillian. This thing is humiliating to her. But I think she kind of lost it in the Good Morning America interview — she was really upset and pissed and it made her come off looking kind of desperate. But she’s right, she shouldn’t have to deal with this in the media. And, true, if those two girls were “looking out” for her, then they wouldn’t do it this way!

I am curious about ABC’s take on this. We have heard rumors about this for a long time, and the girl(s) never spoke up until now. Is it possible ABC is encouraging them to come forward and finally spill to stretch out the attention to the show?

Either way, I have to say that I do believe these two girls. Sigh. Cheese ass.

  41. Melanna Said,

oh never mind, it’s Lindsey, not Lauren.

  42. Jennifer Said,

Looks like she needs a Reid-oo (see, it sounds like re-do… ha ha… forgive the terrible pun).

  43. applesandbananas Said,

I think that if I went on the show and did in fact fall in love, etc. There would still be a reality back home of a relationship or two that would need closure. I’m not saying he needed to sleep with them or anything for closure, but it’s not outrageous to think before diving into the proper engagment that one or both parties may need to address people that were in their lives before going on the show.

I don’t know how many commenters here are single but there are often gray areas and relationships that have very gray boundaries. Anyways, point is, they are all only human. It is not like she could have just “picked” Reid….guarantee he would have a lady or two back in Philly that he would need to work things out with.

  44. SC Said,

Melanna- I don’t remember which couple did this, but one of the Bach duos that split auctioned off the ring and donated the proceeds to charity.

  45. jenstemp Said,

Wait a minute!! Is one of Ed’s girls named Lauren? Wasn’t that the name of Wes’ supposed girlfriend? Maybe Tanner got his “guys with girlfriends named Lauren” mixed up.

And–it sounds like Jillian slept with Reid (and probably Kiptyn) in the fantasy suite. So if she gets pissed at Ed for sleeping with his ex girlfriend(s), then she’d have to admit that what she did was just as wrong. Not to mention slutty!

  46. jenstemp Said,

Oh, nope, not Lauren. Thanks Melanna. That would have been too much of a coincidence!

  47. saggleo Said,

    #44 – jenstemp Said,
“Wait a minute!! Is one of Ed’s girls named Lauren? Wasn’t that the name of Wes’ supposed girlfriend? Maybe Tanner got his “guys with girlfriends named Lauren” mixed up.

No, it’s Lindsey as stated above – melanna corrected the post.

I must have missed something b/c I didn’t see where Jillian admitted to sleeping with all of them, people can imply and take things however they want doesn’t mean it’s true. One she’s not pissed at Ed and if she was (as I think in some way she should be, but I don’t know what they discussed before this was out), she has a right to be. He knew what he was getting into with this show and her seeing others at the same time…she didn’t know of him seeing others while he was on the show and that being the reason he left (if this is all true).

  48. Jeanne Said,

    Cheese Ass.
Remember how they teased us in previews that there would be a big confession? And they showed clips of Jilli having a meltdown? Then, we all wondered, what the heck happened to the big confession?? I’m betting Ed told her. If he did, then shame on her for picking him. If he didn’t, then shame on him for being a big offish cheese ass.
I don’t think Reid would take her back now. Too bad for her, cuz he was the best one on the show.

  49. Tulipina Said,

#47, that’s perfect! Ed is an Oaf. I liked him early on, but no more. He has seemed shifty or smug, and sometimes both at once, ever since he left to save his job. He should have stayed gone, but then we would not have so much to talk about now.

  50. applesandbananas Said,

This is normal…everyday life! When you are sinlge, not married, not engaged, realtionships have gray areas. Esp as you get around the 30 yr old mark, everyone is an adult and knows what’s up. People allow themselves to either hang in the gray areas or not. I am sure Ed went on the show just to check it out, he didn’t write off these two girls because he figured odds were he’d be back and it would all just be a fun story to tell…”that one time he went on The Bachelorette”. It just happens that it did all work out. He got home and needed to end these relationships. Again, I am not saying he needed to sleep with them or anything, but it is unrealistic to think he would never look back or end thing with them. Often times ending things takes more than one phone call or one email. Even if we would like it to only take one call or email.

Let’s say she did “just pick Reid”, odds are he too would have had a lady or two back in Philly that deserved some closure.

Just because you know someone to be “sinlge” doesn’t mean they have zero contact with the opposite sex (or same sex, whatevs). It just means that whatever realtionships they are involved in are low key, not commited and/or in the gray area. I know some of you will sound off and say oh well people deserve commitment, but often times it is very mutually uncommitted.

Point being all of the men on the show probably had someone or something going on back home to some degree. That doesn’t mean it’s all ok, it’s just the reality of it. They are just himan, they went on a silly show didn’t think much would come of it and now they are trying to make all the pieces fit. Big woop.

  51. Jenna Said,

    Unpasteurized Cheese Ass.

  52. lovethebach Said,

Remember-He is the only one out of the final 4 who laughed when Wes said he would be going home and having lots of sex!??!?! The other two guys-Reid and Kypton looked disgusted!!! Total scum!

  53. Jennifer Said,

    Wes’ girlfriend was named Laurel.

  54. heidi Said,

something just doesn’t seem right. I vote cheese ass.

  55. Kelly Said,

If it looks like a duck…

  56. Brandy Said,

Just another thought (and I am totally kidding here when I say this)… Maybe these two girls felt bad for Ed getting a reputation for having e.d.? Maybe they want to let us know that little Ed functions just fine and that Ed is one major stud?? Jillian proclaimed this on ATFR and now these girls.

Maybe the real victim in all of this is Ed obtaining the apparently false e.d. rap???

It is all a ploy to get us to forget about Ed’s “episode”!! LOL!!

  57. newsies fan Said,

I feel so conflicted about this. I like Jillian, but I wanted her to pick Reid so badly that I am confused about the Ed cheating thing. I watched the gma interview and their responses (esp. Ed’s) seemed so practiced and coached. There are so many details that these women have, and I think that he cheated.

Jillian, call Reid!! He was the best choice, anyway.

  58. Micah Said,

Total Cheese Ass!! I don’t believe Ed for a second. Jill needs to get Reid’s number from OHCH for a good shoulder to cry on. Team Reid!!

  59. C List Said,

I reserve judgment on any post-engagement cheating until I see the evidence in my Us Weekly. As far as pre-engagement, Jillian said she knows. It doesn’t seem to bother her, so I’m not going to let it bother me. I’m not the one who has to be Mrs. Bobby Brady.

All that being said… I question the motives of any woman who decides to confess to tabloids that she took sloppy seconds (thirds?) sleeping with some dude.

And why does the second girl look like pre-rhinoplasty Ashlee Simpson-Wentz? Did Ed date Ashlee Simpson??

  60. jammf Said,

Cheese Ass, for sure. Ed had poor eye contact most of the season. I think ABC is loving the publicity at the expense of Jillian. TPTB should have warned her if they knew about this before she fell for Ed, as was implied by the FORT message board. About the ring, and who gets to keep it, I think I read she gets to keep the ring if she stays engaged for 6 months. Otherwise it is returned to ABC. But I might have dreamt that. LOL.

  61. Melanna Said,

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg48Oh2vnJo

Aww! Have you guys seen this?? Michael wrote a song for Jilly, much better than Wes’s stupid song, at least this one Michael obviously wrote while there!

  62. Lancaster Said,

    She should have picked Reed.

  63. jammf Said,

    # 57 Haha. I thought of Ashlee Simpson too!

  64. Kathy Said,

I have referred to Ed as “cheese” from day one. My daughter thinks it’s funny but there is nothing genuine about the guy except that he looks untrustworthy. I thought the entire season that Jillian had zero chemistry with any of the guys and that her relationship with Ed was just bad acting on both their parts. Sorry Ed fans but I’m believing the “other women” story. Put me on Team Cheese.

  65. Leslie from Austin Said,

All I can say is that after looking through the US Weekly “Where are they now” story…

Brad is still HOTTER THAN CRAP!!!!!!!

  66. Alan Said,

Yup, Ass-iago cheese. It all makes sense. The confession promised in the previews was Ed confessing he had at least one girlfriend and Jillian having a mozzarella meltdown. ABC was tempted to air it for the drama but decided in the end to bury it so as not to spoil the fairytale ending. But I don’t know why they didn’t delete mention of the mystery confession from the previews.

  67. Spoiledwithdiamonds Said,

You know what they say…. If it walks like a snake and talks like a snake….

  68. ~M~ Said,

Well now we know WHO HAD THE GIRLFRIEND!!!!!

Wes is probably laughing his patootie off. Or he’s royally ticked.

  69. Nikki Said,

I see that the enormous wave of public opinion is swinging against Ed, but I think there are 2 sides to every story and the GMA interview was too vague to decide. There is so much more going on here and I am choosing to believe the best about Ed and Jill…since I have come to really like them over the last couple of months…rather than believing what 2 girls say who don’t have any credibility in my book since I can’t even remember their names.

  70. JennJam Said,

    LOL @Kendall (Swiss cheese-ass), @Jenna (Unpasteurized cheese ass), and @Alan (Ass-iago cheese).

I’m TEAM CHEESE all the way. In fact, I’m team STRING CHEESE in “honor” of that horrible mankini, ugh.

I am tempted to think that both the Wes and Ed incidents are proving what poor self-esteem Jillian has, and we saw this the entire season, especially at the end. Her attempts to constantly ‘fish’ for worship from these guys (esp. Reid!) and her near ‘demand’ for declarations of love showed how desperately she needs instant validation from men. (Which, not to get all psycho-babble, seems odd, considering the close relationship she seems to have with her dad.)

I think that she WANTS to believe in their sincerity so badly because she NEEDS it to be true.
Sorry, though, Jillian – - that doesn’t make it actually true.

    Team Cheese captain, over here!
    ~JennJam

  71. Amy Said,

I know I am the minority here…but I am still on Team Ed & Jill. Although not ideal, I don’t know that it’s so terrible to possibly be staying in touch with other people while you are on a show where the person you are dating is still dating multiple other people. It is probably realistic. They seem pretty normal and open to me. If they want to make it work I hope the media helps them do that instead of digging up reasons why they should not.

  72. My Awesomeness Said,

    Cheating cheese ass. :)

I felt he was shady, the eye contact thing. During that interview he kept biting his lip and blinking and blinking. He did not look or sound like he was innocent. IMHO.

If it is true – it is a real bummer for our Jill. I wanted her to be happy not fall for some line from a guy.

  73. oklabachfan Said,

    http://www.examiner.com/x-5302-Minneapolis-Entertainment-Examiner~y2009m8d4-The-Bachelorette-cheating-scandal-was-Ed-Swiderski-the-Bachelor-with-a-girlfriend

  74. LORAC Said,

So, Ed was cheating and Jillian wasn’t? She was dating more people than he was!

I think this is the real deal – those girls considered Ed their boyfriend, he didn’t consider either of them his girlfriend. I know I’ve been there back in the day…especially out in the dating bar/scene. If you hook up with someone at 3am when the bars close, it’s a booty-call, not a serious relationship. I don’t care what text message evidence the girls have, show me a receipt where the guy actually bought you dinner….then you can say you were ‘dating’.

I believe John Bender said it best when he said, “Some I consider my girlfriends, and some I just consider.”

I like Jillian’s basic response that nothing matters before “Will you marry me?” As long as nothing happened AFTER Ed’s ‘I love you’ and the proposal, I don’t care. I’m hoping he told her the scoop the night they spent together talking until 7am in Spain. I’m still on team Ed.

  75. Karen K Said,

Now I haven’t read all the comments but here is mine:

Maybe the reason Ed had E.D. is because Little Eddie had too many playthings. Little Eddie was worn out by the time Squeallian got to him. Have some whine with your cheese ass Ed. And that’s what it is all aboot.

  76. Jenny Said,

We learned early in the season that Jilly isn’t the best judge of characther. Ed=cheese ass. I’m not even going to bother hoping it’s not true. I’m so over them.

  77. houstonlawyer Said,

I just saw the ABC interview. Ed does not make a very good witness.

  78. Domestic Chicky Said,

BAD Ed – bad bad Ed…

I hope it’s not true, but if it is, I hope Jilly has the good sense to end it now…

    Kind of ironic though, no?

  79. pk Said,

Bad dressing, Greg Brady look a like CHEESE ASS

  80. My Awesomeness Said,

I think keeping in touch with an old girlfriend is one thing. Leading her on to believe she is your one and only when she is one of many is another.

  81. Nance Said,

i hope it is not true. that’s all i have to say. (sigh)

  82. BigRed62 Said,

#39 Melanna – I read somewhere this season (I’m almost sure it was Hare telling it) that all the bachelorette’s have given their rings back when the engagement was broken. EXCEPT for Shayne Lamas. She kept hers. I wish I could remember where I read it.

  83. Sarah Said,

Jillian, are you still going to claim you’re such a “great judge of character” after this? :)

  84. Jeanne Said,

#80 BigRed62 I think OHCH told us that.

  85. dallasite2 Said,

For those of us that watch this show for the old-fashion joy of seeing the girl find the guy of her dreams, let’s not tarnish that fantasy but consider:
    1. Jillian knows the truth.
Ed left. We all suspected there was more to the story than just the job. And, now we know. But let’s not forget in the episode of his return he said, “I want a chance with you, so I want to be TRANSPARENT.” I thought that was a strange word to use but now see it as quite revealing. I think Ed told Jillian EVERYTHING.
    2. The ex-girlfriends are being paid for their stories.
Before now these girls have gained notoriety on Reality Steve and FORT websites. Why not be compensated for their pain? I see the latest news release as a calculated case of sour grapes, and the entertainment world capitalizing on it.
    3. Yes, #72, Jillian and Ed have agreed nothing matters “before the proposal”.
Why do I care if this works for them. I have often wondered how the F1 handles the “chemistry” of the F2 and F3. Ed has been a good sport about the physical displays and proposals by the other two men. He has been calm and cool with all the questions about Reid. Could it be that he is forgiving because he has been forgiven?

I have always been on Team Ed. He and Jillian appear to have a good time together and care for each other. If they can endure Mike Fleiss’s editing, surely, they can weather this latest media frenzy.

  86. Broady Said,

You know what they say… love don’t come easy.

  87. Drew Said,

#72 — These girls aren’t a 3am hookup looking for cash. He went to a wedding with one. That implies a lot more exclusivity than a trip to Olive Garden.

  88. Katy Said,

    ooooh, you said it, Drew!

  89. Stephanie Said,

    Total Cheese Ass!!!

Read the entire US article, these women give descriptive dates, emails and texts.

Ask yourself this, if your daughter was engaged to a man that had mulitple relationships like Ed did with these women, while he was pursuing your daugther, wouldn’t that raise red flags and make you wonder what this guy and his dating habits are about??

I wonder exactly how many texts and emails he kept around to show her – uhm, he is an IT nerd. I wonder just how “truthie” he was with her.

    Total Cheese ASS!!!

  90. oh dear Said,

Say it ain’t so! I just love our little Jillian Harris, and I want the best for her. Poor thing, this sucks whether its true or false. Poor dear.

  91. jacee Said,

We were told Ed left to take care of work issues….but we come to find out while home he went to a wedding w/Lindsey. The Bride and Groom were mutual friends of theirs from college….hmm…do we think he left filming of TB to go to the wedding? Who wants to miss a big reunion of all your college buds w/your former (and sometimes current) Gf? He got to skip the Hometown dates, go back and live like he was 20 again!!! It seems soooo obvious. He wasn’t going home to work OR to “fix” the girlfriend problem…he went home to party! Poor Jilly.

  92. Joy Said,

Hmmm… whether its true or not, I hope they just find some happiness out of it. If she can live with his past and he can live with hers (hello… there was a lot of spit swapping going on with both of them it seems) and they can simply move forward… then more power to them.

But remember… no matter what there is no such thing as bad publicity. Its been more than a week since the finale & we’re still holding on to hear more. ABC knows how to “work” this. They’re stealing headlines & magazine covers. They have really good background checks. I’m still hoping and thinking Jill & Ed may have found love in the middle of the circus.

  93. Claiborne Said,

#89 Jacee, I completely agree. What a coincidence that Ed made it home for a two week period with that wedding in the middle! I also forgot that he didn’t participate in hometown dates. I am guessing that those girls wouldn’t have like that much. I am very, very suspicious.

Assuming Ed DID tell Jillian everything, why would she still pick him? She had the option to be with Reid who was not screwing around with two girls during the taping. Was she that much more attracted to Ed?

I guess it is a little unfair for everyone to excuse Jillian’s dalliances with Reid and Kiptyn but not Ed’s. I do think anything post engagement is completely inexcusable.

I’ve only seen photos of the two girls- haven’t read the US Weekly article, but the blonde looks like a sweet girl. She was Ed’s college girlfriend for goodness sakes. It’s not like she is a budding starlet trying to get publicity. She is probably very embarrassed and was encouraged to tell her story by her girlfriends. Think about how you would feel if your boyfriend got engaged on national TV to someone other than you.

  94. Lauren Said,

    I agree completely with you, # 83 Dallasite2.

  95. Tulipina Said,

Changing the subject . . . . last night I was looking at an old DVD from Bachelor 1 and OHCH has changed something! HIs clothes then were much less suave but above all I think he has a different nose now. Can you all check me on that? I think he is darling now and was darling then but back in the day he had a cute beak like a parrot, with a pointy end. Nothing wrong with a little work, but I rather miss the original nose!

  96. baseballmama Said,

I thought I saw on the GMA interview that both girls thought Ed was planning to propose to them. Why would they go public, If it was my boyfriend (that I thought I would be marrying) and he did this to me, I would be all about revenge.

  97. Shameless Said,

I can see how Jillian would excuse Ed sleeping with these girls when he “took a break” from the show, and maybe even if he had something with them right before he left and maybe even that he was sleeping with/seeing both of them right before the show (never mind that he was cheating on them with each other, can you say RED FLAG for him as a person?).

No, the real problem is if he actually slept with one girl AFTER he was engaged, and was “sexting” the other one too. THAT is where the problem comes in and, if true, indicates that he has some serious issues with lying and cheating.

  98. Haystack Said,

Whether or not you think any of this is true, I have to say that Jillian is handling everything with such class. She’s just always been very well spoken and very articulate. Check out their interviews on GMA yesterday.

Dallasite2 – - couldn’t have said it better myself! I’m hopeful for these two and think that even though Bachelor & Co. are LOVING all of the publicity, this is all just a stunt. Those two girls are MILKIN’ their 15 minutes. I think Jill & Ed are real and hope to see a wedding soon!

  99. Kimberly Said,

Didn’t Jillian always say she liked bad boys?

  100. Christy Said,

I’m more interested in this (pretend “this” is a hyperlink and in orange font)!

    http://tvwatch.people.com/2009/07/30/hey-ladies-bachelorettes-reid-is-still-single/

  101. My Awesomeness Said,

I am more concerned about the fact that Ed might be comfortable cheating and lying to women. Perhaps he is one of those guys that just says whatever he thinks a girl wants to hear? The rumors have been that Ed is a life of the party guy and that he had two girlfriends during the show.

A rumor with no merit just goes away…and this one about 2 women was out there during the show and it did not go away. Hmmmm.

  102. gc Said,

    TO Jillian: CALL REID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  103. Rach Said,

Why do people go on this show when they have just had a breakup or still have strong feelings for someone, like Ed said he did for this chick?? What’s the point. Cheese ass, all the way. And Jillian is a dumb ass just like we all thought. Might as well have picked HWWNBN. She didn’t figure out HWWNBN like she gave herself credit for- JAKE DID. She even had a second chance with Reid, and she looked like she was going to say YES! giggling like a school girl! Oh, Jill…

  104. houstonlawyer Said,

The future of JED’s relationship is can be summed up by words of an old Don Henley song: “Trust and self assurance that lead to happiness – they’re the very things we kill, I guess.”

  105. JennJam Said,

Ummm, THIS LINE from the article about Reid struck me (on whether or not he’d be willing to be the next Bachelor): “The downside is it is a ton of work. Work doesn’t scare me but with real estate being so busy now, it’s gonna be hard for me to figure out how to keep my business and at the same time do that.”

He didn’t say “it would be hard for me to figure out . . .” – - he said “IT’S GONNA BE hard for me to figure out how to keep my business and at the same time do that.”

Ladies, I think we know who our next Bachelor is gonna be!!!!! Whoooooooooo hoooooooooooo!!!!!!!

    TEAM REID!

  106. Gotta love a Cdn Girl Said,

Check out this link, good ol’ Jilly speaking very candidly about everything to a Cdn newspaper.

    http://www.nationalpost.com/arts/story.html?id=1866032

I too love Reid, but I like Jilly more and really like her after this article. She is very real.

  107. JennJam Said,

The difference between Jillian and Ed’s ‘spit swapping’ with others is – - ED KNEW about Jillian’s! He kept his from her. That’s called ‘lying.’

And I hadn’t even made the connection about ‘which shows’ Ed missed, and the Hometown Dates were conveniently absent. Assuming his parents live in Chicago too, I assume he nearly died at the thought of bringing his third girlfriend to this hometown. That, combined with the timing of the wedding? I must say, it IS suspicious.

  108. Green Bean Queen Said,

#104 and #96, when I watched her interview and read the article in the Cdn newspaper, I was reminded of Shakespeare–Methinks she doth protest too much.

She says these rumors don’t bother her, but you can tell she’s ticked and suspicious. It’s almost like she’s on the counteroffensive so adamently because she’s trying to convince herself.

  109. onceaweasel Said,

Once a weasel, always a weasel. Ed is not a keeper. I realize the editors are masterful on this show, but no one can put a shifty look into someone else’s eyes, and that is what gives Ed away. When he returned, he seemed like a bad actor who was having trouble with his lines. At times almost looked like he might burst into nervous laughter. Whatever that was, it was not the look of love he was aiming at Jillian. Jillian says that all the hoopla this week is making JED stronger as a couple, but it takes a load of denial to keep that going. I think she should cut her losses, but that is hard to do until you feel it. Perhaps ABC will give her the design show she has been hinting about and that would give her something else to think about. Jilliam may not be the “smart girl” she likes to claim she is, but I agree with what she has said in interviews, that she is not mean. I am sorry this is happening to her.

  110. Maureen Said,

Moldy cheese ass squished into tiny ugly shorts!
After watching the GMA interview on yahoo, and the CDN newspaper article, I agree with you #106 – she doth protest too much, and I feel bad for her for not being smarter, for having bad luck, and for the fact that Reid will never be hers, because he will be mine. :) I think she knows he lied and that the whole situation is a train wreck, but is trying so hard to act like it’s fine.
Jillian and Ed both were so not ready to be engaged – both were hooking up/in love with more than one person, right before the proposal. Ridiculous! It won’t last. Dumb people, dumb show… I only watch it for Lincee’s awesome recaps!

  111. Tracy Said,

Poor, poor Jilly Bean….she has to be the biggest failure in Bachelor/Bachelorette history. This has to be the most ingenuious group of guys (or girls) there has ever been!!! The careers, the girlfriends, the “ED”, it is all so sad. You’d think with 2 out of 3 odds of getting a good guy Jillian would be on her way to marital bliss :) It’s obvious that Ed and Jillian will never have their happy ending. Once a cheater always a cheater!!!

  112. Nikki Said,

Thank you #83, Dallasite2. Very well said. I like your point about forgiving because you’re forgiven.

  113. Shameless Said,

With almost ever bachelor or bachelorette ending in some kind of disaster (whether or not it’s ABC’s doing — and 90% of the time I think it is) I don’t see why even the biggest fame whores would want to be on this show. They all end up humiliated across the board and sometimes it sounds like their lives have been ruined. ABC is just going to keep up with the horrible drama at everyone’s expense (not saying this is their fault, but come on they totally maneuvered the whole Ed leaving and coming back thing). This crap gets ratings and attention and they’re not going to stop now!

  114. houstonlawyer Said,

Some of the commenters at the RS board have pointed out that the show seems to have been edited so as to give the producers the option of painting Ed as the bad boy. OHCH said at the beginning of the show that they were still in the editing process even while the show was airing, so it’s possible they changed their tactics mid-show. Remember that it was Ed (not Wes) who gave the guilty look when the girlfriend thing was first brought up. Then there were the previews about one of the guys having to make a terrible confession, yet those segments never appeared on the show. Then, we have Ed leaving and coming back, and of course the bedroom dysfunction. Maybe the producers were set to cast Ed as the bad guy, but when they saw she might choose him they had to change their plans. Someone said they thought the producers even brought Reid back at the FRC to give Jill a last chance to get out. I think they may be on to something.

  115. Lioness Said,

Here’s a little insight, my good girl friend is going to be on the bachelor! She’s been flying back in forth from here (Dallas) to LA, to sign contracts and all kinds of stuff. I asked her if she’s going to be on total lock down for the six weeks of filming and she said yes. She had to sign a contract stating that she has to give them her cell phone and she can only have conversations with immediate family only and they must be kept under 30 seconds – for the entire time she remains on the show.
What I find pretty funny, is that my girl friend has never even seen the show – she went to an open call with another girl friend of hers for the free wine – she got called back and made it all the way though and her friend never did. I told her it’s probably for the best, because if she had seen the show before she most likely would not be going on it. She’s a super sweet, gorgeous girl – it will be fun watching her!
Oh and one other thing – the girls do not know who the bachelor is going to be, they don’t get to find out until Oct, when they start filming!

  116. Green Bean Queen Said,

#113 Lioness, How old is your friend? Maybe that will give us a clue about the next bachelor’s age.

  117. Jennifer H Said,

Please, oh please, let it be Reid.

And I don’t think age is really a factor for the show because there have been big age gaps before.

  118. Lioness Said,

I don’t thing age really is a big factor, I think she’s 26 or 27… I asked her if she’s met any of the other girls and she said only one and that she wasn’t very nice…

I’m trying to get all the scoop I can out of her before she leave’s and is put on lockdown!

  119. JAYE Said,

THIS IS GREAT. I just heard that Wes is releasing a new single called “CHEESE-ASS TAKE THE WHEEL”.

It’s a duet with Carrie Underwood.

    Ok, not true,but wouldn’t it be great….

  120. Animal Lover Said,

Just reading the US Magazine….Ed appears to be wearing the same suit & tie with Jill during the proposal as at the wedding with blondie girlfriend #2….this bothers me….

  121. jessica Said,

i know he’s not the most popular, and i’m certainly not a fan, but a friend did run into wes in dallas last week and bluntly asked him, “so did you really have a girlfriend?”

he said, “no, actually ed’s the one with the girlfriend”. this was before any of this came out in the media.

    sketchy?

  122. Katie Said,

Ed seemed like he couldn’t look Jillian in the eyes when he talked to her. I thought it might have been that he felt awkward talking about his feelings with a camera in his face, but it seemed a little shady to me. Seemed like it happened even more after his return. Anyone else pick up on that?

I hope it’s not true…we’ve all known guys who will say whatever we want to hear, and Jillian deserves better. Why propose if he wasn’t a one-woman kind of guy? Why not a “let’s keep getting to know each other” kind of finale?

    Maybe Reid’s still available? :)

But why wouldn’t Ed look at Jillian when he talked to her? I’m just saying…

  123. ontariogirl Said,

If it walks like a smarmy jackass and talks like a smarmy jackass then you know what you’ve got on your hands. Ed is bad news and if he comes to Canada this month I hope we will send him back where he came from. Too bad they did not recruit a few from our side of the border to be in Jillian’s pool (and her hot tub, and her helicoters).

  124. sc Said,

Sooo who thinks the crazy kids are getting hitched in Vegas this weekend? Haha.

  125. TEAM REID :) Said,

I wonder if this was what Reid was referring to in the limo when he said something along the lines of “she’ll see she picked the wrong guy…. it might take a month or two months, but she’ll see…”

    Hmm… wonder if Reid knew?

  126. Jen Said,

I’m not sure what I think of the whole cheating thing, but does anyone really think Ed has enough game to pull off dating three women at once?! I mean, in one episode he wore a pair of shorts so little I can tell what religion he is and a suit that has him compared to the ice cream man…

  127. All about the shame Said,

Some are saying these two girls want their 15 minutes of fame, and that’s why they’ve come out with this information to Us, but I have a different theory…

Have you ever been in a relationship where the guy cheated on you, you found out, only to discover the guy has fallen into some kind of black hole when you want to confront him about it or get closure on the relationship or even just pick up the stuff you left at his place? Like he won’t answer the phone, return calls or texts, or e-mail you back? I have, and it’s frustrating and it makes you mad as hell!

So, maybe going public with this info is the only way these girls can contact Ed. Maybe he’s playing the squirrel and hiding in his hole and won’t respond to these two ladies personally. So, they’ve contacted him through the media. Did they get your attention, Ed?

Jillian, go out and find another man. They’re making new ones everyday.

  128. houstonlawyer Said,

I agree #125. I don’t even think these two girls even sought out the tabloids. There have been rumors going around about Ed for a while, so I’ll bet the tabloids found these girls and asked if they were willing to tell their story. They probably figured, why not, since they’ve already been humiliated in front of their friends and family by having their “boyfriend” propose to another woman on national television. Ed is probably being paid for his appearances, so they may have figured, why should get away with using them, fooling the Bachlorette audience into thinking he’s a great guy, and he’s even getting paid by ABC!

When you’ve been hurt and humiliated, you feel helpless. Getting public payback against Ed would be pretty empowering. And, Ed’s making money from his “story” so why shouldn’t they?

  129. Chicagogirl Said,

Wait…I see there is Lindsey, Bethany, and who is this Lauren? I’m confused, is there a third?

Jilly girl, you felt like you made the safe choice, but IMO Reid was the real one here. Maybe it’s not too late…but your time is running out.

Team Reid Team Reid Team Reid

  130. My Awesomeness Said,

It kind of reminds me of my best friend’s boyfriend…they had been together for about 3 years and he tried to hit on me, he told me he wanted to sleep with me. He said, “She will never know.” I told him, “I would know. It would matter to me!” In spite of that he called me at work and asked me to meet him for lunch, etc. I always felt she deserved to know but could not tell her. I thought it would backfire on me somehow. (Isn’t that what some people are saying about the secret girlfriends!) I felt if he was coming on to me – he was probably cheating on her all the time.

If Ed has been leading those girls on, Jill should know. What she chooses to do about it is her decision, but at least she will be informed!

  131. iheartgreenbeans Said,

    Cheesy McCheeserson!
    Dear Jillian,
    Call Reid.
    The end.

  132. Shameless Said,

Really, everyone? She should call Reid? Reid was done with her the minute the spell of the show wore off. He practically admitted as much. I’m not saying they didn’t have a shot at happiness if she had chosen him — I thought they had the best chemistry of all — but she rejected him, twice, and I think he’s more than fine now. That ship has sailed, for both of them. Anywho, as much as I loved watching Reid, I hope he’s not the next bachelor b/c I bet something would happen to make us not like him.

  133. Stephanie Said,

Reid did say in his teleconference that his feelings were “still definitely strong for Jillian” and he was more attracted to her than any girl he’d ever dated via the cosmo interview BUT I sense that he has moved on too and that is for the better!!! You can still care about someone but it doesn’t mean you have to be with them…especially after getting rejected twice.

Reid – please DON’T be the next bachelor, your flaws will be exagerrated and we will become annoyed with you just like we did Jillian, Deanna, and especially Jason.

  134. sc Said,

Reid said in an interview that work was too busy to take all that time off to be the Bach. I don’t think he needs it, and I want some fresh blood! I am sick of them recycling guys. However, there was that rumor about Kip. Who knows? Plus, I don’t think it would be fair for Jilly to use Reid as her fallback guy just in case ED turns out to be a skeeze. You had your shot girl!

  135. Hannah Said,

Okay, I totally had a dream last night that they aired a special after-the-rose where Jillian said she had changed her mind and begged Reid to take her back. How sad is it that I’m dreaming about this stupid show??

  136. Jennifer H Said,

Reality Steve did say that Kiptyn would be the next bachelor. At first I though he got it wrong because, until recently, the whole “Ed has a girlfriend” thing hadn’t come to fruition. However, now that he’s been proven right about Ed, I think Kip is probably going to be it.

Even though I love Reid, I am holding out that he won’t do it. I loved Jason until his season and Jillian until hers. Too much of a good thing, I guess.

  137. Andrea Said,

Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE REID….but what about the love for Kip? I think in the last few shows he really came out of his shell and seemed like a good, serious, fun-loving, loyal and decent man. And he wasn’t afraid to take the plunge with Jill.

I don’t about Ed. I’ve never liked him….and these latest rumors/stories or whatever they are just make him look worse. Only time will tell, huh?

  138. junoesq Said,

For all we know, Ed told Jillian all about these two women way before it came out in the media. She says he did. She says, even knowing everything that has come out now, that he was completely honest and open with her. Why are we willing to believe that he lied to Jill when she says he didn’t?

I thought that Ed was a socially inept dweeb – it does look like I was wrong about that :)

  139. C List Said,

Okay. I’ve thought about it some more, consulted the hubby, read all the links you all have posted, analyzed the interviews, and spoke with my oracles. Here’s what I’ve come up with. Jillian has said in a hundred different ways that Ed was honest with her, has always been honest with her, about his relationship with these two girls. Someone, I believe it may have been Dallasite (#83) pointed out that when Ed came back, he said something that implied he was going to tell her the truth or lay it all out there or whatever. It is possible he told her then about the girls. They also spent a lot of time together after the show aired. He could have told her then. Whatever the case, we know she knew BEFORE these girls went public. Whether you believe Ed or not, we all believe Jilly. So when she says she knew, I trust her.

I also agree with LORAC (#72) that sometimes girls and guys have a different view of what a relationship is. Most of us have been there or know someone who has. Are you all telling me you’ve never had to console a friend who is upset because the guy she thought she wss dating for a year tells someone they were just “hanging out”? I go with the Patty Stanger method of there is no committed relationship until both parties have VERBALIZED that they are in a monogamous, committed relationship. Many women, however, don’t like to subscribe to this theory, because then you’re forced to have “the talk” with some guy, and you’re afraid you won’t like the answer. I know many women who put this off for YEARS. and let’s just say most of them are so angry by the result, that they would love to go to the tabloids to declare this guy a jerk.

I’m not convinced by the wedding attendance that there was a committed relationship with girl #1. they dated in college and had mutual friends. They could easily go together even if they weren’t a “couple.” they could even go separately and end up hanging out. Remember? He was off the show by then.

Anyone can doctor emails. That’s not hard evidence. What is fishy though is that some were supposedly sent during taping. You’re telling me that Ed is the only person in the history of the show who was allowed to use a laptop or BlackBerry? And none of the other Bachelors – including HWSNBN, who spilled every show secret there was – mentioned it in an interview??

The text messages, however, cannot be faked. I have not seen my Us Weekly yet, so I don’t know the stories around that.

I don’t care if the girls “look nice” or don’t want to be actresses. I have plenty of friends who fit that bill who would like nothing better than to burn a guy who didn’t want to be with them any more. This isn’t necessarily about fame or money. It’s about revenge.

Oh, and yeah he slept with two girls in the same time period. BFD. as long as it was before he was engaged and he never verbalized to either of those girls they were in a monogamous relationship, who cares? Now if he did verbalize (notice I say he verbalized — not he implied, not they thought or assumed) it was a monogamous relationship, then I will disregard everything I said above and declare him cheese ass of the year.

  140. okcheather Said,

Team Reid- this never would have happened with him.

  141. Henry's Mom Said,

Reality Steve has been saying this all along and I think even mentioned the name Lindsey in one of his blogs. I did not read the other posts, so if this is a repeat, disregard.

  142. Adrienne Said,

okcheather – that was the first thing I said! Reid wouldn’t have done this. Must be our shared OKC mentality ;)

  143. JR Said,

NO KIDDING. Bored at home I pop onto the IHGB site, see the story, click on the link and see the face of an old high school classmate. Bethany Steffen quoted in People and US magazines…somehow tied to Ed from the Bachelorette? Strange, small world.

  144. Kimberly Said,

#141 – so if you know Bethany, is she the kind of girl that would make this story up to get her 15 minutes of fame?

  145. JR Said,

    142, I HIGHLY doubt it.

  146. Tulipina Said,

I’ve heard that they will start *filming* the next Bachelor in October, so that means we will not see it until next year. I wonder how many of us will lose interest in this show in the mean time? Some of the media hype and speculation about the show being scripted could sour me. I know I will probably watch it but only so that I can enjoy Lincee’s wonderful updates thoroughly. As to the show, that is the triumph of hope over experience but as to Lincee’s updates that is just sticking to something that is thoroughly good and always entertaining.

  147. SusanM Said,

Who Knows? Any of it could be true, none of it could be true, or somewhere in between. I just think Ed seems like the last guy on the show that I would think did it just to be on TV, as the ho said. I wish them luck.
#16 Thanks for the link to that interview with Ed and Jill. I am curious to see if this really is the last time she talks aboot this.
Did you notice that she looks just a slight bit frumpy without the ABC stylist helping her out?

  148. Santorini Said,

Article posted today on MyFoxPhilly reports that Jill dumped Ed in Las Vegas. Is it really over?

    http://www.myfoxphilly.com/dpp/entertainment/gossip/080709_Exclusive_Bachelorette_Dumps_Fiance

  149. carried Said,

Wow…Santorini, thanks for sharing that! I wonder how long we have to wait to start hearing about this all over everything???

  150. M3Lover Said,

    How ’bout Jillian’s an IDIOT!

  151. M3Lover Said,

I take that back now that I read Santorini’s post. Hallelujah! Apparently Jills has a brain cell or two, but not three.

  152. M3Lover Said,

How much do you want to bet Jillian gets with Reid now?

  153. ontariogirl Said,

Here is the report all the way from India: http://www.khabrein.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24665&Itemid=70

  154. Claiborne Said,

I sure wish this story would show up on MSN or something. These are pretty obscure sources (not that I doubt them- these stories have to start somewhere).

I bet Jillian is filled with MAJOR regret. I feel horrible for her. Ed is such a prick. And to think I felt so sorry for him when the ED story line took place.

  155. jammf Said,

If I’m violating any rules here with this post I’m sorry & please delete this webman.
Here is a post from FORT that explains the season. It was posted by sdl. “I had a conversation last night with the person I most trust to tell me what happened in the production of this show. Much of it is a repeat of what I’ve been saying for the last 2 months, but it is consistent and confirming, and I think it helps to put it all together in one place. These are not my opinions, but what i was told, and the language chosen is generally his and not mine.
Please forgive me if I number my paragraphs, but it helps me to keep the points in order:
    1. Ed represented himself to be someone who was a cut above the other contestants. He wanted concessions from the producers that were not allowed for the other contestants, including computer access because of the nature of his work, and guarantees on payment and how he would be treated.
The producers resented the demands from the start but they were having difficulty assembling a cast so the rules were bent.
    2. Ed never really clicked with the other guys in the house. His sense of entitlement and aloofness not only got under the skin of the producers, but also the other contestants. He didn’t have a lot of friends, but Jillian liked him from the start.
    3. Ed went to the producers early on and said he had personal issues to deal with at home. He did talk about his job but that didn’t seem to be the crux of what was really bothering him. Ultimately, the producers learned that he had relationships back at home that had to be cleared up if he was to continue on. The overriding concern at this point was that Ed had girlfriends in Chicago who could ruin the production if they went public with what they knew during filming.
    4. Ed was allowed to leave, using the work excuse, but the clear direction was to clean up his personal business and be back in 2 weeks. Ed’s idea of cleaning up personal business was to sleep with 2-3 girls while he was home, but he did come back on schedule.
    5. Wes was a stereotypical Texan with a loose tongue, and a “I don’t give a sh*t” attitude, so they used him as the foil to deflect any Ed rumors. It was the perfect diversion. And they kept that edit for as long as it suited them.
    6. When Ed came back, things were even worse. He told these lies about being at a rodeo in Texas, told the girls he loved them, and it was just stupid. He was nailed. But the producers owned him now – because they had all of his dirty secrets. Time to revise the script for a really big finale.
I’ve heard that Ed is a smart guy, that he’s successful, that he’s obviously good at his job – we don’t know that and I’ve never heard any of that from ABC (he was a Microsoft salesman for 4 months – how “married to his job could he be? He was expendable).
The producers thought he was an idiot, a jerk, arrogant and stupid about it. A poser. And he had fatal flaws that would be great for the show.
    7. The producers gave him enough rope to hang himself. They let him email and text away, while encouraging poor needy Jillian to take him – boozing them up so they’d think it was love……and the rest you know.
ABC tipped off the tabloids. The girls were badgered until they agreed to go public, but it was all a part of the plan.
    8. ABC considers this to be one of the best endings ever. They were really challenged by a weak cast and the expectations generate by the Mesnick debacle, but they love it. They made lemonade out of lemons.”

  156. All about the shame Said,

If all of this is true, it explains why Ed asked to keep the rose Jillian gave him before he left instead of giving back the rose so that she could give it to someone else. The plan was for him to come back all along, and he knew this.

How close is Ed to being a sociopath? Poor Jillian! I’ve thought all along that she was a little needy and that she lacked self-confidence, but I think she was really in it to find a happy ending. It sounds like the producers used her like a puppet to ensure the most *dramatic* ending ever!

Wonder if Jake would’ve ratted out Ed too if Ed had been around for the hometown dates?

  157. Juno Said,

Jammi – #153. The only problem I have with all of this is that this ending is “lemonade out of lemons.” True lemonade would have been for someone to notice how much all the show’s fans were loving the
Reid & Jill chemistry, orchestrate a huge outing of Ed and then let the grateful bachelorette who had narrowly escaped being affianced to a creep to walk off into the sunset with her true soulmate.

  158. All about the shame Said,

#155, Juno, that ending could still happen. Maybe we’re watching that unfold right now!

  159. Jeanne Said,

Re: the MyPhillyFox link and story, I just read somewhere that they did make it to that dinner in Las Vegas, but they were three hours late. It also said they were loving, especially her, but he was also checking out the waitress.
    CheeseAss

  160. Juno Said,

#156, maybe. But if I were Reid, I’m not so sure I’d be particularly eager to jump back on to this trainwreck, after having been dumped not once but twice by someone who is clearly not as in touch with what is really important as she would have us believe.

  161. Santorini Said,

No breakup! False alarm! You were right, Jeanne. People Magazine contradicts the MyFoxPhilly story:

    http://tvwatch.people.com/2009/08/08/jillian-harris-and-ed-swiderski-enjoy-cozy-night-in-vegas/

  162. jammf Said,

#155 Juno, personally I agree completely with you. But I think the producers might view scandal and lots of negative press that continues weeks after the show as lemonade. I don’t think they care about a love story, only drama.

  163. SC Said,

Hey- I just clicked on the link from #159, that picture of them and I’ve seen it before. Right after the AFR episode, someone posted a link to a story that talked about how they’d gone to dinner with a bunch of friends in Canada, I could swear that’s where this pic is from, not from this weekend in Vegas. Hm. Interesting!

  164. CC Said,

Definitely a false alarm. Here’s what happened.
    http://www.examiner.com/x-15135-Global-Entertainment-Examiner~y2009m8d9-Jillian-Harris-and-Ed-Swiderski–does-everyone-hope-they-break-up

  165. junoesq Said,

Google the restaurant LAVO. Wherever that pic in the #159 link was taken, it definitely was NOT at LAVO. In fact LAVO is thinking of suing for trade libel, based on the insinuation that the tacky orange leatherette menus were LAVO’s :)

  166. ontariogirl Said,

Are we all on watch for when they split? I confess I have been glued, it is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I always get involved with these couples, and I have withdrawal when they leave the spotlight – but this time I would rather they were happy and boring. Ed, though, made me suspicious even before this story of his two women came out. I agree with #154, this guy may be a sociopath. I wish Jill a happy ending and I don’t think that can happen with Ed. Is it too late for those nice Ukrainian boys her Gran promised during the Bachelor visit?

  167. susieQ Said,

#161, I noticed that too! Definitely an old picture. Hmmm. The whole thing is strange.

  168. chicagogirl Said,

The photo is from sushi samba in chicago..taken the thursday night the week finale aired!

  169. GrlinNYC Said,

No wonder why he couldnt get it up in the Fantasy Suite, he was speant from the other two girls!

  170. Susan in AZ Said,

    I smell gouda

  171. Tulipina Said,

Chris Harrison has now been heard from to the effect that there was no dumping in Las Vegas on Friday. Earlier today to ET Online he acknowledges that all the publicity surrounding Ed’s alleged misdeeds does not hurt, but adds this: “They say there is no such thing as bad publicity, but it is weird, Jillian is a friend of mine. I hate for it to happen for them.” Please note the pronouns, he does not comment on his friendship (or not) with Ed the Cheese-Ass. Along the way in his ET online interview, OHCH also mentions 4 or 5 promising newcomers who could be the next Bachelor (though he does not rule out Kiptyn, Reid or Jake) and takes a few pot shots at Wes. Or is it a threat? “And I will say this about Wes, who complained a lot about being edited. He should thank us and kiss our feet for how he was edited, because, believe me, we could have made him seem a lot worse than we did. We made him seem as good as we could. He should actually be thanking us.”

For those like me who can’t quite let go of this story, here is the link: http://www.etonline.com/news/2009/08/77355/

  172. renee Said,

He can’t bring his own condoms?

  173. Lindsey Said,

Renee — I thought the same thing! Haha!

  174. saggleo Said,

Just a thought…I’m wondering what arrangement was made or if Ed quit his job to be able to do all the press he has to do now or how he’s able to, if he had to leave for his job within his few weeks on the show?!? I had thought of this before the whole two women thing came out. And I think somewhere I remember seeing something mentioned about him only being at that job for 4 months….this time to promote or make appearances is going to be just as long as the show was…isn’t it? Not even given merit to the chick story…but seeing this trip to vegas…and trips to shows..it’s like uh…what about the job Ed?

  175. saggleo Said,

#170 and 171 – I’m lost…what’s that in relation to? Did I miss something in the article from #169? Curiostiy over here…lol. May have missed a comment somewhere…sorry if I did.

  176. saggleo Said,

    Ugh…curiosity (I can spell I swear!)

  177. jenstemp Said,

saggleo–I think they’re referring to one of the alleged texts that said to bring beer and condoms. Not the article referenced above.

Also, one of the articles said that Ed’s in Vegas for work.

  178. JennJam Said,

    <>

    HONESTLY!!

@jammf, that makes total sense to me – - all of it.
I also think ABC are total jerks who only care about ratings and were DESPERATE for something to top the Jason-Melissa-Molly ending, because let’s face it . . . what really COULD? That was pretty dramatic.

Who edits the final show DURING the final show???
The fact that the ‘big confession’ and Jillian’s giant-looking breakdown never aired.
    I smell a rat.

The bad thing is, this hurts Jillian, not just makes Ed look bad.

I know this show isn’t the ‘pie in the sky true-love finder’ it claims to want so desperately to be (but hey, I do point to Ryan and Trista for SOME hope) . . . but really, is it necessary to hurt REAL PEOPLE for ratings??

I’m tempted to stop watching b/c I think it’s wrong. Yes, ‘they’ sign-up willingly, but I think they assume ‘the best’ going in, too.
Makes me wonder why we keep seeing the familiar faces all the time, then, considering what people GET.

Truth be told, Lincee should be on ABC’s payroll because I ONLY watch this show b/c of her recaps. True story.
(The truest humor in them only resonates if you’ve seen the show.)

  179. JennJam Said,

    oops, sorry.

What was supposed to be in the above in my comment is @All About the Shame’s comment: “How close is Ed to being a sociopath?”

    I added: HONESTLY!!

** p.s. What ‘show secrets’ did Wes spill? I missed that! **

  180. C List Said,

JenJamm, I think the reason ppl continue to sign up for the show is because the recycled people are the ones who got the good edit. True, they usually annoy us when they come back, but I’m sure they all go into it thinking they’ll look just as great as they did the first time.

That whole theory about ABC being in on it and forcing those two gals into the tabloids makes PERFECT sense. In fact, it sounds better than anything I’ve heard so far. It fills in all of the logical gaps and inconsistencies that have been bugging me. And it fits right in with what happened last season with the whole planned public dumping of Melissa. TPTB are pretty heartless.

  181. ontariogirl Said,

I understand Jillian is writing a book about how to understand men based upon their hot dog toppings (or “how they dress their dogs”). I don’t think it is safe to take dating advice from Jillian! If she stays w/ Ed (or even marries the Cheese Ass — or cul de fromage for the francophones among us? — I guess that could help book sales.

  182. SC Said,

Oh I REALLY hope you’re wrong Ontariogirl. That would be silly beyond belief if she wrote a book about that. Post a blog, that’s fine.

I am SOOO ready to read an update on Lincee’s Pimpin’ status! And all the other stuff that she is going to tell us about!

  183. saggleo Said,

#175 – Thanks jenstemp…that makes sense! lol I remember now.

  184. Renee Said,

Regarding hot dog toppings: A lot of people seem to be from Texas on this blog, so I’ll give a little hot dog topping regional lesson. If you put ketchup on your hot dog in Chicago it is as if you farted loudly at the dinner table, took off your top at a funeral, or mooned the President. It is considered a vulgar thing to do and if people don’t say EWWWWW GROSS out loud, they are thinking it. It is OK to have tomato slices (and celery salt) and mustard is allowed.

  185. SC Said,

OMG! That is hilarious Renee, I am seeing a guy from ChiCaaah-go (as I say to him) and he gives me such a hard time about it- I am totally a ketchup girl. He has threatened to pretend he doesn’t know me if I ever go up there and do it. I even had one for lunch yesterday and took a picture (ketchup and all!) and sent it to him! Luckily, in Florida, you can put whatever you want on your hotdog and thou shalt not be judged ;)

  186. ontariogirl Said,

The hotdog book idea may have been something Jillian was floating in Canadian media before all the furore broke out after Ed was outed as a cheese ass. I’m guessing the last thing she wants these days is any more attention on her skills (or their lack) at choosing men. Isn’t there somewhere in the states where people put cheese on hot dogs? She could promote the “cheese ass special” when she gets to Chicago, if indeed she moves there. Me, I stop at mustard so I guess I would not violate any taboos in Chicago.

  187. SC Said,

#186, I totally put cheese on mine. My whole family (Ohio-based) does, but we just might be weirdos. :)

  188. saggleo Said,

Renee and SC…I am from Chicago born and raised and know nothing of these hot dog rules…guess since I don’t eat them regularly..but I will put me some ketchup and mustard..and peppers and relish…tomatoes too…all the live long day and too bad if somebody is offended! LOL It’s what my STOMACH likes! LOL

I’m not sure what circles of people that topping is offensive to but it’s never come up in my family gatherings and such…now I’m gonna ask and I bet they will all look at me and go….YOU CRAZY, WTH?!!? Well they already do that! lol

  189. ontariogirl Said,

Here is an article from the Calgary Herald on Monday-

    http://www.calgaryherald.com/entertainment/Bachelorette+Harris+weathers+storm/1876367/story.html

Ed, who has given Jillian’s friend Shannon the cheese-ass nickname “Shannanigans,” is having a wonderful time. Jillian says she wants her “sweet simple Canadian life back.”

    Time will tell.

  190. carried Said,

A few pics of some of the boys from the season…
    http://theringbearer.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=259

  191. C List Said,

I’m a Texas gal, so I like chili and cheese on my hot dog. I respect a man who likes a good chili dog. But there’s no place for it in Jillian’s hot dog theory.

In any event, in light if everything that happened with her this season, she is the last person who should be writing a book on how to tell what kind of guy a man is based on ANY theory she has. Melba, Wes, Dave, Ed? Yeah, she needs to stop reading things into condiments

  192. JennJam Said,

@C List, yes I think you’re right about the recycled show participants! They expect a good edit again. For Jill, especially, I liked her waaaayy more during Melba’s season, and it’s funny b/c I noticed it RIGHT AWAY this season, by at least the 2nd show. I was thinking, “Hmm, I really liked her last time. This time? Not sure.”

@Renee and SC, that is soooo funny about ketchup and hot dogs in Chicago!
I’m going to Chicago the weekend of September 11-14 so I need to know these things before I go, ha ha! (I’m j/k – - I do eat ketchup on my hot dogs and would do so even if people looked at me like I was a shirtless funeral-goer or a President mooner. Besides, I plan on eating lots of PIZZA while I’m there and leave the hot dogs for the Fourth of July celebrations next year.)

Anyone from Chicago have any ‘must go to!’ restaurant suggestions?? Anything close to Soldier Field would be awesome as we’ll be staying around that area.

    Thanks!!

  193. JennJam Said,

p.s. @carried, thanks for posting that link.

I guess Michael S. *is* dating Holly, huh?

I love Juan’s name tag that says ‘Hello my name is ‘Sexy’.”
Maybe it shouldn’t, but that cracks me up b/c you know he probably didn’t write it, but he’s ok with wearing it, ha ha!

  194. saggleo Said,

#192- JennJam…I’ll see what I can find out for you on the restaurants. I know this may be up for debate by a few Chicagoans but if you can get some Beggar’s pizza while you are here…it is oh so yummy!!! I’ll have to see if there’s one near Soldier Field…it is mostly a southside chain.

  195. Kimberly Said,

    http://www.usmagazine.com/news/castmates-ed-talked-about-having-a-girlfriend-on-bachelorette-set-2009118

Interesting article – it has Wes, Reid, Jesse, and Michael all talking about how shady Ed is

  196. Santorini Said,

#190 – Awesome pictures. I miss the boys. Thanks, Carried!

  197. ontariogirl Said,

    # 195 — thanks very much for this link. To translate this to Texan, if Wes, who in the rear view mirror may not be the villain of the piece after all, thinks Ed is contemptible then that makes Ed “lower than a snake’s belly,” no?

  198. Kimberly Said,

#197 – You’re welcome. Yeah, if Wes thinks Ed is no good, then wow. Although, he could just be trying to get everybody to quit hating on him. But if Michael S and Reid join in, then I am convinced that Ed is cheese ass.

  199. JennJam Said,

@saggleo, that would be awesome, thank you so much!!!

  200. atl Said,

I am just catching up on all of this. If jammf is right, this is ridiculous and I can’t believe I watch this show. I mean seriuosly who does that, the producers of this show are douche bags and as much as I want to believe our host that he really “cares” and they are his “friends,” give me a break. And why I am so bothered by this…I need help too! :)

  201. C List Said,

This completely contradicts the story that Ed told Wes and Dave he had a girlfriend: http://tvwatch.people.com/2009/08/13/bachelorettes-wes-feels-bad-for-jillian-ed/

So either Wes is talking out of both sides of his mouth (as usual) or Us Weekly lied. Either way, doesn’t bode well for Us Weekly’s reporting of the whole deal…….

  202. Drew Said,

JennJam–restaurants are hard to come by around Soldier Field/the Museum campus. There are a few on Wabash a few blocks south of Roosevelt. A better bet is to take a cab/walk/ride the L 1 1/2 miles north to the other side of the river. Then you’ll have more to choose from than you’ll know what to do with. Most are pricey, but you can find some bargains.

  203. BA Said,

I am really frustrated with this Wes thing. To People Magazine, he is saying he had no idea and he feels bad for them, and to US Weekly, he is saying he knew. WTH?? I mean, I know we are talking about Wes here, but come on, stick with one story!

But the fact that Reid, Jesse and Michael are also saying stuff really seals the deal for me. I was never Team Ed, so I am biased, but I just thought that everything seemed so shady. I feel like Jillian is being stubborn, just like with Wes. She needs to “figure it out,” even when all the signs are there. Even when Reid came back, she stuck with her original decision despite having obvious doubts, mainly because she thought she had to stick to her guns, no matter what she was feeling, seeing, etc. This sort of stubborn commitment is not a bad thing necessarily, but in Jillian’s case I think she just sticks to her guns for the principle, not always for the logic. Does that make sense?

Jillian, it is ok to change your mind and/or to see things for what they are!!!! Your determination is admirable but seriously, COME ON.

  204. JennJam Said,

@Drew, thanks so much for the advice/tips! Can’t wait to come to Chicago next month.

About the Ed interviews . . . US Weekly is NOT a bastion of (even celebrity) journalistic integrity, so I wouldn’t trust their ‘sources’ for *anything.*

Of them all, I’d trust People the most, but still . . . considering what we’re dealing with here, we’ll never know ‘the truth.’

  205. Saggleo Said,

#192 – JennJam – This may fall under some of Drew’s advice (sorry I’m not very good at east/north/west stuff – :-) ) however, there are some restaurants in the south loop, a thai place I’ve wanted to try out and seems to get good reviews… Ma & I on 1234 S. Michigan, Kitty O’Shea’s is another (steak place I think), Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on 805 S. State Street – great pizza as well. A friend mentioned Tamarind on 614 S. Wabash…sushi place.

If you do a search on metromix for chicago and check for the locations under south loop or grant park you can find a host of options. You will have to venture across from Lake Shore Drive (where SF is) to get to some restaurants but like Drew said…there’s a host of them.

Enjoy your time here! We are finally getting summer weather so it should be a good time to come. I’ll send a wave over toward you when I’m downtown!

  206. Jessica Said,

Okay… recent lurker on this blog (mid-season) but have to weigh in…

I was reading comments on the US Weekly articles and on one of them, someone claiming to know one of the girls said that they never even watch the show but they know that this girl had been hounded by the tabloids for weeks (even before the final show aired) about the Ed situation. She finally consulted a lawyer and decided to out the story because she knew it would be “out there” eventually and this way she would have her own version of events out there. That makes it sound like it really wasn’t about the revenge or the cash, just good-old self-preservation?
Then again, hell hath no furry like TWO WOMEN’S scorn?

  207. JennX Said,

I got to read the latest US Weekly story in my physical therapist’s office yesterday (torn ankle ligaments giving a shout out to Lincee’s knee!) and a little sidebar made me do a double-take… Mike (not Stag, the other one) is dating spray-tan Nathalie from Jason’s season?! Come to think of it, he is a little “bear”-ish. :D

  208. JennJam Said,

    @saggleo, thanks so much!

I don’t know if you’ll check back here and see this or not, but I appreciate the suggestions.

By the way, if you see this . . . what’s “summer weather” for Chicago?

How humid will it be (do you think) the weekend of Sept. 11 – 14?

Do you have an idea what mid-Sept. temps usually are?

Thanks for any/all help – - can’t wait to come to your city! (We’re coming up for the 2 U2 shows – - the North American tour opener is that weekend in Chicago, woot!)

  209. saggleo Said,

    JennJam – you’re welcome!

I always seem to forget how the weather is during different seasons…except for winter! lol Guess it’s how I keep living here! If I recall correctly, it’s not too hot during September, but it can be a fickle thing. Maybe somewhere between mid 70s to 80s. We’ve had a very light summer. Only a week or so here and there of really hot humid weather so it’s kind of hard to gage how it may be. I prefer abc7chicago.com news- you can check that site about a day or so before you leave to get the jist on the weather at the time. I don’t want to lead you in the wrong direction about how it may be.

I personally prefer the not too sticky weather so I think it’s generally pretty nice out during that time. Today we have 81 and it’s not humid at all. Yesterday was a great day weather wise as well.

A friend of mine is going to the U2 concert as well. I know they put on a great show.

Hope you have a great time and enjoy Chicago!!

  210. My Awesomeness Said,

I was waiting in the doctor’s office and picked up a magazine…Ed caught cheating again? Anyhoo, even if he was not cheating most reports seem to say that he drinks quite a bit. 5 gin and tonics and the last two were doubles? Hmmm. I sure hope that Jilly knows what she is doing.

  211. Biz Said,

Hey fellow groupies – I’ve got a young girl friend of mine (she’s 25) who wants to send a tape and apply for the next Bachelor show. She’s praying it’s Reid (she’s got a huge crush) – she also wants me to go, but being ‘in my 40′s’ I’ll not watch my cellulite butt expand on a wide-screen in HD! Besides, it’s not worth just a single limo ride. Regardless, she’s looking for creative ideas of what to say or do that will capture the attention of the directors in her video (besides bikini poses). She’d like to do something unique and funny (even if it’s someone else’s idea). I’m going to the best source I can think of – fellow Green Bean haters for suggestions.

Thanks and bring on the creativity!
