Hey fellow groupies - I've got a young girl friend of mine (she's 25) who wants to send a tape and apply for the next Bachelor show. She's praying it's Reid (she's got a huge crush) - she also wants me to go, but being 'in my 40's' I'll not watch my cellulite butt expand on a wide-screen in HD! Besides, it's not worth just a single limo ride. Regardless, she's looking for creative ideas of what to say or do that will capture the attention of the directors in her video (besides bikini poses). She'd like to do something unique and funny (even if it's someone else's idea). I'm going to the best source I can think of - fellow Green Bean haters for suggestions.

Thanks and bring on the creativity!

I was waiting in the doctor's office and picked up a magazine...Ed caught cheating again? Anyhoo, even if he was not cheating most reports seem to say that he drinks quite a bit. 5 gin and tonics and the last two were doubles? Hmmm. I sure hope that Jilly knows what she is doing.

JennJam - you're welcome!

I always seem to forget how the weather is during different seasons...except for winter! lol Guess it's how I keep living here! If I recall correctly, it's not too hot during September, but it can be a fickle thing. Maybe somewhere between mid 70s to 80s. We've had a very light summer. Only a week or so here and there of really hot humid weather so it's kind of hard to gage how it may be. I prefer abc7chicago.com news- you can check that site about a day or so before you leave to get the jist on the weather at the time. I don't want to lead you in the wrong direction about how it may be.

I personally prefer the not too sticky weather so I think it's generally pretty nice out during that time. Today we have 81 and it's not humid at all. Yesterday was a great day weather wise as well.

A friend of mine is going to the U2 concert as well. I know they put on a great show.

Hope you have a great time and enjoy Chicago!!

@saggleo, thanks so much!

I don't know if you'll check back here and see this or not, but I appreciate the suggestions.

By the way, if you see this . . . what's "summer weather" for Chicago?

How humid will it be (do you think) the weekend of Sept. 11 - 14?

Do you have an idea what mid-Sept. temps usually are?

Thanks for any/all help - - can't wait to come to your city! (We're coming up for the 2 U2 shows - - the North American tour opener is that weekend in Chicago, woot!)

I got to read the latest US Weekly story in my physical therapist's office yesterday (torn ankle ligaments giving a shout out to Lincee's knee!) and a little sidebar made me do a double-take... Mike (not Stag, the other one) is dating spray-tan Nathalie from Jason's season?! Come to think of it, he is a little "bear"-ish. :D

Okay... recent lurker on this blog (mid-season) but have to weigh in...

I was reading comments on the US Weekly articles and on one of them, someone claiming to know one of the girls said that they never even watch the show but they know that this girl had been hounded by the tabloids for weeks (even before the final show aired) about the Ed situation. She finally consulted a lawyer and decided to out the story because she knew it would be "out there" eventually and this way she would have her own version of events out there. That makes it sound like it really wasn't about the revenge or the cash, just good-old self-preservation?
Then again, hell hath no furry like TWO WOMEN'S scorn?

#192 - JennJam - This may fall under some of Drew's advice (sorry I'm not very good at east/north/west stuff - :-) ) however, there are some restaurants in the south loop, a thai place I've wanted to try out and seems to get good reviews... Ma & I on 1234 S. Michigan, Kitty O'Shea's is another (steak place I think), Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on 805 S. State Street - great pizza as well. A friend mentioned Tamarind on 614 S. Wabash...sushi place.

If you do a search on metromix for chicago and check for the locations under south loop or grant park you can find a host of options. You will have to venture across from Lake Shore Drive (where SF is) to get to some restaurants but like Drew said...there's a host of them.

Enjoy your time here! We are finally getting summer weather so it should be a good time to come. I'll send a wave over toward you when I'm downtown!

@Drew, thanks so much for the advice/tips! Can't wait to come to Chicago next month.

About the Ed interviews . . . US Weekly is NOT a bastion of (even celebrity) journalistic integrity, so I wouldn't trust their 'sources' for *anything.*

Of them all, I'd trust People the most, but still . . . considering what we're dealing with here, we'll never know 'the truth.'

I am really frustrated with this Wes thing. To People Magazine, he is saying he had no idea and he feels bad for them, and to US Weekly, he is saying he knew. WTH?? I mean, I know we are talking about Wes here, but come on, stick with one story!

But the fact that Reid, Jesse and Michael are also saying stuff really seals the deal for me. I was never Team Ed, so I am biased, but I just thought that everything seemed so shady. I feel like Jillian is being stubborn, just like with Wes. She needs to "figure it out," even when all the signs are there. Even when Reid came back, she stuck with her original decision despite having obvious doubts, mainly because she thought she had to stick to her guns, no matter what she was feeling, seeing, etc. This sort of stubborn commitment is not a bad thing necessarily, but in Jillian's case I think she just sticks to her guns for the principle, not always for the logic. Does that make sense?

Jillian, it is ok to change your mind and/or to see things for what they are!!!! Your determination is admirable but seriously, COME ON.

JennJam--restaurants are hard to come by around Soldier Field/the Museum campus. There are a few on Wabash a few blocks south of Roosevelt. A better bet is to take a cab/walk/ride the L 1 1/2 miles north to the other side of the river. Then you'll have more to choose from than you'll know what to do with. Most are pricey, but you can find some bargains.
