Sadly…I wish I could forget.
That’s right IHGB readers. For those of you who care, I saw an advanced screening of Fame and was highly disappointed.
It started off great! I convinced myself within 30 seconds of the opening number that I was not only going to own the DVD, but the soundtrack would be a member of my iPod family as well.
Then it fizzled.
And no…I was not hopped up on Vicodin when I watched the show. In fact, I made sure to suffer the entire event with a throbbing knee so I could stay awake instead of possibly drooling half-way through due to a pain-killing-induced-semi-coma-state-of-mind.
Seriously. I give it a C.
It’s sad. I know.
Now the only thing I have to look forward to is this:
I’ll take it! TEAM JACOB!

Lincee
First let me say that I always look forward to checking out your blog. It’s a fun part of my day.
Sad news indeed (about Fame). Maybe you could download the Six Pack by Straight No Chaser. Their full album is coming out Nov 3rd, but until then, enjoy the Six Pack!
Teresa
When I was reading the books I was Team Edward. Now with the movies, TEAM JACOB!!! How pitiful that I’m a 47 year old woman drooling over someone younger than my own kids!! That boy is F-I-N-E fine.
Oh no- Im going to see it tomorrow. I had such high hopes. Oh well at least its a girls night out and hopefully it will be fun even if the movie sucks!
That’s so disappointing! I’m going to see it with the girls on Sunday! And we’re purchasing advanced tickets for New Moon while we’re there! I’m totally TEAM JACOB, as well!
I’m SO dissapointed to hear that about Fame. I’m planning to see it with some girlfriends this weekend. Maybe having low expectations will make it better for me, I hope. Anyway, thanks for the heads up.
CANNOT FLIPPIN WAIT on New Moon… I’m planning on scheduling my son’s delivery in time to recover to make it to the premier? A little obsessive? -maybe. ;o)
Its true on the SNC Summer Six Pack…Guaranteed “Cheer You Up” music.
I’m bummed about Fame, I was going to see it this weekend, but now I’m definitely reconsidering that suggestion.
#2 BigRed62 – now I don’t feel so bad. I’m 42 and have told friends that I will have to wait until DVD because I don’t want to be perceived as a pedophile
When I was that age, boys did not look that good.
Go Team Jacob!
I am totally out of the loop- writing this from a doctor’s office, maybe that’s why- but what the what is Fame?! Someone fill me in… I am still loyal to studly Edward although Jacob is looking, as I read above, F-I-N-E!
I’m going to see Fame this weekend with my daughter. Even if it’s not as amazing as the first one, I still want to see it out of respect to the franchise. I’m totally looking forward to seeing some great dancing and singing, so I hope I won’t be too disappointed. After that, we’re going to do the New Moon countdown as well. Woo hoo!
Lincee, thanks for saving me the money. I think I’ll go see Clive Owen’s new movie, The Boys Are Back. Clive Owen is yummy.
And how are we not talking about Glee? I’m loving this show!
I fully expected this movie to stink. Most movies about dancing are awful They can’t seem to resist making it all a big political statement – and blah blahing about “art” and “expression.” The whole point of dancing is that it is SEXY! Not to mention graceful in the way that gymnastics awes us every four years.
Stick to the raw, primal, sex appeal of dancing and we have the basis for an enjoyable movie. Don’t make it (or fly-fishing, surfing, etc) a metaphor for life.
It is also a way to irritate old people – like “Footloose” and “Dirty Dancing.” I can never get enough of that!
Well, this makes me feel better. My Friday movie buddies are going to see this tomorrow, but I will be home with two kids sick who have the flu.

Oh. My. Awesomeness!
I truly just wiped some drool off my keyboard. Oy Vey!
I’m surprised you aren’t talking about GLEE!
Lincee – I always agree with you on your opinions…until now. How can anyone be Team Jacob? He’s so needy and whiney. He seriously needs to grow a pair. Bella might have gone for him, if he did. Girls love a challenge.
Anyone know anything about the new Bachelor? When it starts etc.?
Lovin the Vampire Diaries!!!
OOOOHHHHH NOOOOOOO! i’ve so been looking forward to this bc that girl from SYTYCD is in it. what a let down…might not even bother going to the movies after this review…but i will see it sometime…you know, ppv or hbo.
cuz i can’t NOT watch!!
hope you’re feeling better lincee!!
November 20th will not be here soon enough. I will be at the first showing! I am still Team Edward. How can you not be in love with his Royal Culleness? I must admit though, Jacob and the pack look great too.
Steph #17 – OHCH posted on his facebook page that they are going to announce the new bachelor on the Oct 13 episode of Dancing with the Stars.
#9 sc,
Fame is a movie remake of a fantastic 1980 cult film by the same name. It was a great movie….remakes are never as good as the first.
I am still sooooo on Team Edward. Jacob & the pack definitely look better and Jacob is a sweetheart, but the chemistry between Edward and Bella is electrifying. It makes my heart race. Jacob just doesn’t do that. Edward is everything a girl dreams of (except good looking-sorry Robert Pattenson lovers, I just don’t think he’s all that). The character Edward is respectful in every single way, he’s reserved, intelligent, thoughtful, adventurous and funny….he is the perfect man we all dream of. Like someone else said, Jacob’s a bit whiney. I do love him though. He fits the BFF category, not the “I’m so hot I have to have you now” category like Edward. ;o)
Have a great day everyone! I just love this blog. Lincee ROCKS!
Team Edward all the way
Well, I had hoped Fame would be awesome, but since the original was terrible, it only makes sense that the new version would suck too. The soundtrack rocks though!
That trailer for New Moon made my day.
Thanks for the heads up, but I plan to see it anyway. I loved the original and then the TV show that followed.
I’m drooling to see Nine the musical with Daniel Day Lewis that opens about the same time as New Moon. Cannot wait!
Please to explain Team Jacob to me. Honestly. I just don’t understand it. I feel that in life, I can understand those of different ethic, religious, socioeconomic, etc., backgrounds than me but I have a hard time understanding those who are Team Jacob. Love Jacob and all but he is perfect as her best friend and future son in law.
Ok, I am totally clueless, what is New Moon and who are Team Jacob and Edward? This Team Edward is not from the last Bachelorette because I will puke (and I thought it was Team Ed?)
Ha RM1SW, not sure if you are serious but, it is not Ed from the Bachelorette, way better. It is Edward from the Twilight books. New Moon is the movie based on the second book of the series. Edward and Jacob are the main male characters in the book the leading lady, Bella, has a “connection” with. Some prefer Edward, the vampire, and some prefer Jacob, the werewolf. If you are fan of most of the things Lincee is then you should check these books out because you will probably enjoy them like the rest of us greenbeaners, who are really a little too old to be so excited about this but can’t help it
TEAM WEREWOLF.
Feel Better, Lincee!
Thank you atl, I am not at all versed in the Twilight books. Guess I shoud go get the video so I will at least understand New Moon when I see it or read it. Vampires and werewolves, what lengths we go get our fix of animal attraction. I’ll take the werewolf something about vampires makes me think of Dracula. Werewolves make me think of Michael J. Fox….
Lincee…I feel so dirty. I’ve been enjoying your blog for the last two Bachelor seasons now and all this time you were Team Jacob..the horror! Just kidding…New Moon comes out on my bithday (I’m pretty sure they did that just for me!). Except turning 32, I hardly want to spend my day fighting 13 year olds for a seat at the movie and then hearing them screech when Jacob takes off his shirt because they have never seen naked male abs before. Glad to know there are other middle agers out there who enjoy this kind of stuff
I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE “WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE”!!!!!
RM1SW – I would definitely read the book before watching the movie. The movie was nowhere near as good as the book (IMHO).
AggieFan – I agree that RPatz doesn’t do Edward justice. But I also don’t think Taylor does Jacob justice – I want 6′ 5″ hotness!
Until I read New Moon I was 100% Team Edward but New Moon converted me to Team Jacob.
Hope you feel better soon Lincee and they figure out what is up on the stitches situation!
Jen – I am right there with you! I too will be throwing elbows to secure a seat and sushing 13 year olds. And I am 31. So help them if any of those girls call me a TwiMom.
