I have never followed the World Series closer than I did this year. I experienced so much anxiety for no reason. No–I’m not a Yankees fan. No–I’m not a Phillies fan.
I’m a Glee fan. And a So You Think You Can Dance fan. And this World Series has really jacked up the viewing pleasure of two of my favorite shows. I’M SO GLAD IT’S OVER SO WE CAN RETURN TO NORMAL AND I DON’T HAVE TO BE MAD BECAUSE I THOUGHT MY DVR FORGOT TO RECORD!
I first blogged about Glee before it ever came out. It was the inaugural post of my new category entitled “How Have We Not Talked About This?”
Singing. Dancing. High School kids covering JOURNEY for crying out loud?
I’m so there. And you should join me.
And since YouTube is bumming me out by NOT letting me post my favorite clips, I’m forced to use my words to convey the oh-my-awesomeness that is Glee.
I adore Mr. Schuester. Rachel is perfectly cast and I love her adoration of Broadway. Finn is very tall and handsome. Kurt is my favorite gay character since Mark on Ugly Betty. Mercedes can sing. I mean SING! Puck has that “bad boy” thing going for him that I would be secretly attracted to if the mohawk didn’t throw me off so much. Sue has the best one-liners on TV and I am not ashamed to say that I sometimes work these little digs into my daily routine. Other than the annoying fake baby plot, I can say that I am emotionally invested in all of the characters.
And the downloads. Don’t get me started on the downloads! “Don’t Stop Believin’” was in my iTunes family the first moment it was available. And the mash-ups? BRILLIANT! I can even say that Mr. Schuester’s rendition of “Bust A Move” and the “Thong Song” was entertaining!
Are you guys in love as much as I am? Did you buy the cast album? Will you be visiting our beloved characters at an appearances coming to a mall near you in the future?
PS: Thank you so much to webMAN for taking the time to post a birthday entry for me. You guys are amazing. I am overwhelmed by the well wishes!
Oh yes, I too am totally over the top for Glee! It’s pure joy, except I agree the baby story line is lame!
Um, THANK YOU for letting me know why Glee hasn’t been on….I seriously thought my tivo hadn’t recorded it, and was totally angry too. I love Mr. Schuester, and REALLY loved his “Bust A Move” moment. And I know my husband was secretly super attracted to the way I knew every word and sang along.
Lincee…I have been a fan every since I ran across your blog during The Bachelor. First of all Happy Belated Birthday. I am so glad you are a Gleek too! I am in love with this show. Love Shu, Love Puck, Love Sue…the best. Fav song so far is Keep Holding On, but Don’t stop believing holds a place in my heart. Please keep blogging about Glee!
Oh Lincee you are a SYTYCD watcher too!?!? All I ask is for at least ONE post on this show during your blog a day-athon! PLEAAASSSEEEE!!!
Yes, Lincee! I am definitely in love with Glee as much as you are! I love the music, the characters, the quirkiness–I just feel giddy whenever I watch it. (But the fake baby plot annoys me too.) Brilliant show!!!
I’m so happy the WS is over because not only does that mean the return of Glee, but it also means that I don’t have to look at Chase Utley’s gross hair anymore. Seriously, he’s an attractive guy, but I don’t see why he needs to grease his hair so much. Gross.
But yes, Glee is AMAZING! I have the cast soundtrack and have been listening to it nearly non stop for the past two days. I love Defying Gravity and can’t wait til I see it on the show!
Puck is growing on me, but I still can’t get past the fact that he looks like Robbie Williams and that really creeps me out.
Mr. Schu is wonderful, but he really needs to stop rapping. It was fun the first time with Gold Digger, but The Thong Song made me do a little bit of a Jim Halpert face.
I LOVE Glee! And… I admit I bought the album the day it came out! Do I sense a Lincee recap in the future?? Pretty please??
I agree Heather… it makes me feel giddy too!
I am so, so with you on Glee (and SYTYCD and the messed up TV schedule). I’m such a GLEEk!
Lincee! Word on the street is that Mr Schue has been spotted attending church in NYC during his days as Link Larkin. This made me love him even more!!
My daughter was HORRIFIED that for a week after the show I was walking around singing “Your best friend Harry has a brother Larry and in 5 days from now he’s going to marry, hoping you can make it there if you can, cause in the ceremony you’ll be the best man”!!!!! LOVE IT!
But how can we, in mentioning our favorite gay characters, not mention “Just Jack”? He played a gay character before it was so cool! Now every show has a gay character but none are as good as Jack.
I love this show!!!! And plus the guy who plays Kurt (Kevin McHale) is a high school buddy’s little brother. I can not get enough of this show!
I love Glee too! I find myself smiling real big when I watch it…glad no one can see me! And I downloaded the Season 1 Soudtrack…so great!
Love, love, LOVE Glee!! So glad we are talking about this. Mr. Shu is so funny…his obsession with 90’s music only compares to my own (Covering Color Me Bad..I mean, come on!). Think this is one of the cleverest shows on TV. Am so sad when the Do, Do, Do, Do music plays meaning the episode is over. Oh and has anyone ever actually gotten a Slushee facial in real life?
I am all about GLEE! I love it almost as much as I loved Rags to Riches back in the day! Anyone remember that one?
LOVE LOVE LOVE it…..and definitely DO NOT LIKE (STRONGLY DO NOT LIKE) baseball at all (twins and royals are my teams if i have to vote). and am so glad to get back to the fabulousness that is GLEE!
I LOVE LOVE Glee too!!!! I was equally annoyed that it got hi-jacked by the World Series and the Yankees at that! The mash-ups are my favorite. And, what else can you say about SYTYCD, it is everything dance, wish I had the talent to be on it!
Glee? J’adore!
Lincee, I think I would have missed out on watching had you not posted your original blog which got me interested – they owe you for building their fan base.
Just saw Spring Awakening, the Broadway show with music by Duncan Sheik and thought it was fantastic. Lea Michele [Rachel on Glee] originated the female lead … so sorry that I missed her in it.
The guy who plays Kurt was on TMZ tonight. He’s such a cutie and sounded just like his character.
Glee is just joyful, goofy fun!
Love the show-my other half even watches (and enjoys it) and he is a manly man if there ever were one! Sue’s lines are the best! I am also annoyed by the fake baby plot and the fact that the Cheerios wear their uniforms to school EVERY DAY! Other than that it is pure genius!
I’m a Glee-addict too! So much so that I keep watching the episodes on the “On Demand” feature my cable company offers. Last night, here in Canada, we got the pilot episode aired again so at least I got my Glee fix. YAY!! Bring on next week’s new episode!
And I agree… isn’t Sue Sylvester just delicious – lol
#17, same here…. don’t think I would have checked out Glee if Lincee hadn’t mentioned it first. Love it. Sue has some of the best one-liners ever. So glad the Series is over…. couldn’t care less about baseball, it’s college football season!
I/m telling you…. we are best friends who have never met. I was all about this show when I first heard about it in like, January. I watched the first episode and went immediately to iTunes and made Rehab my ring tone…. which it still is. I am a Gleek to the core and proud of it! And don’t even get me started on SYTYCD!!
Love. Love. LOVE Glee!!! My new TV crush is Mr. Scheuster. And sue,the Cheerios coach… OMG! I can’t wait for her to open her mouth every episode because I know its going to be filled will all sorts of gems that I’ll want to re-use. This show feels very much like the movie Election, but with singing and dancing. I look forward to it every week… and Modern Family, which is by far the funniest stuff I’ve seen in a long, long while. Here’s one of my fav tidbits for anyone who is familiar… in the first episode when the dorky dad thinks WTF means “why the face”. Love it!
I’ve been interested in watching this since you mentioned it… looks like I need to get my butt in gear!
Also- Sgt. Cole- I hope you didn’t know anyone at Ft. Hood who was injured/killed. What a senseless tragedy.
BTW, this is a must-see guys! Well, if you love The Office that is…

Aw Lincee… another reason to LOVE you. I puffy heart Glee with all I have. It makes me smile.
Cannot wait to get the soundtrack!
#22..thank you so much for saying Glee is like the movie Election! I’ve said that to several people and no one has apparently seen that movie!
A Glee-less week is an incomplete week for me. Matthew Morrison (Will) is pretty much swoon-worthy and Jane Lynch (Sue) is my new comedy hero. Also, does anyone else want Josh Groban back for a cameo? His lines in the “Acafellas” episode about made me pee myself.
Lincee – I love both those shows…but the Yankees perhaps a little bit more.
It wasn’t such a hardship for me the past few weeks but I can sympathize!
I was so mad at my DVR last week when it didn’t record! And then I was just mad at the World Series! There are a TON of other shows they could have stopped running for the WS instead of Glee. Even gotten the Hubs to watch it with me (although he denies it in public) and I so want to learn some of those dance moves! They so better come out with the Season 1 DVD. It is on my “Have to Have” list!
Lincee, yes to all the above questions in your post! I, too, am in love with this show – I just got the soundtrack in the mail today and there’s a little flyer that a second soundtrack is coming out in December. Can’t. Wait! This show sort of makes my life. I feel so sad when it’s not that I’m considering taking up some Cymbalta during the summer months while it’s not on. LOL. It’s the best show in a really long time, but I’m wondering if you’re not digging Emma’s character as much since you didn’t mention her. I think she makes the show. When Rachel was throwing up in the bathroom and talking about her gag reflex. I replayed it over and over just for Emma’s line. Anyway, I’m so happy you like it too.
i hear the “bad boy” shaves his head later in the season…i too am looking forward to that! agree about your post on the fake baby plot…and i about peed my pants when he did bust a move and thong song! love it and sytycd. can we get a blog review of the dances?
I LOOOOOVE Glee!!!! I have all the songs, too. I love Puck and Rachel and Finn – SUCH an awesome show! I watched the pilot way back when and it’s more than been living up to how awesome the pilot was!
I totally thought DVR didnt record it and got so upset. I love Glee. Every character is so well written. My favorite line so far has been-”Are you questioning my bad assness? Have you seen my guns?” Such a good show im so glad it came along!
I love the songs and I love the characters BUT…I hate many of the plot llines. Why are we cheering for Will to leave his wife and hook up with the crazy OCD woman? Why did we cheer at the kids in the school performing a gross, sexually overt song? The fake baby story? Oh gosh…no…..
I loved the pilot. I’m beginning to hate the show for being over the top – inappropriate in sexual content moments for me.
LOVE GLEE!!!!! (but I’m a NY girl so I’m kinda happy dancing for my Yankees!) I’m very glad the series is over though- it’s time to get back to GLEE! I had the soundtrack downloaded with ten minutes of it becoming available. Can’t wait for the season 1 DVD!
Glee has quickly replaced every other show as my favorite– scraping ahead of Ugly Betty and leaving my longtime love Grey’s in the dust. I’ve felt real disappointment when I sit down to the tv after it would have recorded only to discover no Glee for the last few weeks– I worried my tivo messed up! My favorite episode was the single ladies one–I sat there with a grin on my face for most of it! Glad you are a fan as well.
i looove glee! so i had never watched it but had heard great things…then after i saw your post i proceeded to watch all the episodes one night and the following day. i love all the songs they cover…esp don’t stop believin. mr. shuester’s wife is annoying though…abby, i loved that episode too with single ladies. it better come back sooon
So I’m reading, reading, reading the comments and finally someone (#37) mentions Kurt’s Single Ladies moment! I loved that “video” and kept watching it over and over again. Sue has the absolute best one-liners in tv. Ever. I may be biased b/c I LOVE her in all the mockumentaries (most notably Best in Show) but seriously? Give the writers and the actress some major credit for her! My husband and I are always randomly quoting her lines to each other: :Your children should be hobbled.” “Your children should be put in foster care.” “First I was aroused, then I was furious.” “I’m about to vomit down your back.” “Further embarrassed.” “I will give you a kitten….I will make you fall in love with that kitten…and then in the middle of the night, I will come in and punch you in the face.” OMG, SO FUNNY!!!!!
Ah! So I guess nobody saw the Glee cast sing the national anthem at Game 3 of the World Series? It was great!! I’m a Phillies fan and was so excited to be at that game, especially because of all the Glee kids singing live!! Hmmm, not sure if it’s on youtube or not, I’ll check. I love Glee!
Who watched Glee tonight? It was really good. I don’t know about anyone else but I actually teared up a little tonight. What the heck?! I can’t get over what a good show this is. So glad this show was back on tonight.
