So there I was…volume 6

So there I was…

Knee

…laid up in the bed after a very successful surgery.  Luckily, the doctor wrote his initials on my knee again, so there was no confusion!  And I have old school stitches since the normal ones don’t dissolve in my weird body.

Thanks to everyone who sent me well wishes.  I’m here at my parents’ house being waited on hand and foot.  I have Dr Pepper, candy, grilled cheese sandwiches, Kleenex, gauze, ACE bandages and ice packs within reaching distance of both sides of the bed.  Plus–my Mama gave me a bell to ring in case of an emergency.  Of course, she can’t hear it when I ring it upstairs, but it’s the thought that counts.

And I’ve watched three Christmas movies!  Thanks to those who made suggestions in my previous post.  As usual, you guys rock!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  I’ve declared 2010 as “The Year of Lincee.”

Here’s to the ride!

Thanks for posting an update. Greenbeaners from here to Bombay have been…bombarding me with questions about your health – as if I am your cousin or something. Weirdos.

  2. CeeCee Said,

Glad to hear the surgery was a success! Wishing you a painless and speedy recovery. Enjoy the Christmas movies!

  3. Betsy Said,

So glad you are on the mend and have your mom waiting on you “Brady Bunch style” with the bell ringing.

What movies did you get? Translation: Did you pick MY recommendations?! I am a very demanding reader, apparently.

When I got married at 38, I was so worried that I would have to give up my traditions of celebrating my birthday all year and making every year “The Year of Betsy”. The solution: marry someone who is willing to celebrate this way as well. That said, I am happy to have 2010 be “The Year of Lincee” as well. There’s enough year to go around.

Very Merry Christmas to you! The best gift is to be surrounded by the people you love who love you in return. Just ask anyone who has been The Bachelor.

  4. Natkaps Said,

  12. Debbie Said,

Merry Christmas and Happy New “Year of Lincee”…best wishes for a relatively painless recovery. If your mama is anything like mine, she’s completely happy to be taking care of her girl. I had a minor outpatient procedure last week and she wanted me to spend two days at home so she could take care of me. She was all concerned that the hydrocodone might adversely affect me (or that I might get addicted…silly mama, they make me sleep well).

  13. Cheekymonkey Said,

Woohoo!!! Good to see it’s allll done. Well, outside of that recovery part. Anyhooo… hope you have a lovely holiday season and I can NOT wait for the year of Lincee! It’s gonna be great! You know, in a great bachelor passing out during the rose ceremony kind of way!
