Bachelor Jake: Episode 3

Monday, January 18, 2010 @ 11:01 PM
Author: Lincee

I’m writing a letter to Jake on yellow notebook paper.  After that, I’m going to search the upside down Spiderman kiss on YouTube so I can include it in my recap.

So much to do.  So little time.

KeelyG, Lorraine, Tracy and Koko from MO city I am right there with you girls. I don’t get the Vienna love here…I am not bashing her by any means – she is a pretty girl and last week I didn’t get the Vienna bashing. She seems like she *could* be a sweetheart but she is WAY too young for our boy Jake. He’s 31 and she’s 23. And she doesn’t even seem like a mature 23 year old…sometimes the age difference doesn’t matter but last night watching them on their one-on-one I just had visions of her on top of a bar somewhere doing shots and partying the night away. I just don’t see the two of them at the end of this walking down the aisle (not that I ever expect that anymore). I also don’t get the sudden Ali haters…geez people she was just being direct with Vienna and not talking crap about her behind her back (like apparently Vienna was doing to everyone else). I also don’t get the Ella connection but he likes her. I am definitely team ALI!

My teenage son, who rarely watched the Bachelor, was watching with me last night and when the Ella and son part came on my son said sarcastically, “That’s probably not even her kid. She probably just rented him out for a few weeks to play her son on TV. It probably wasn’t her birthday the other day, either. She just said so in order to get the fun birthday/kid date.” We were then cracking up everytime she said something like, “I love being a mom” and “He’s such a neat kid.” And when the kid got into the car at the end of the date, I said to my son, “So, who’s in the car?” And he said, “His real parents!” It would explain why Ella wasn’t overly excited to see him and not overly upset to see him leave. I’m just saying…

  3. Tracy says:

Oh come on people…Ali is the only one with enough confidence to stand up to Vienna! She put her in her place and I don’t think she was childish in doing it (well, except for forming a club…a litle childish). It has to be a little frustrating to get the first date, think all is well and he has strong feelings for you, only to be shunned for a horse-faced debutant (sp?). There has to be a reason Ali is so quick to reject the apology and all the other girls seem to be right there with Ali, just to chicken to speak up (or they aren’t showing it). Team Ali!! Gotta go read the blog now :)

This is for all those on Team Vienna and Anti-Ali. ABC is editing so that you like Vienna despite what she must have been doing in the house (that was edited out!). I think that she must make it far or maybe even be F1 and that is why ABC is trying to make everyone like her so not as many people are ticked off when she wins. I am Team Ali all the way! She is so cute, fun, and strong!

I thought for sure he was sending Ella home. I agree that she is like Stephanie.
What I do not get is why Jake is on here in the first place. There ought to be plenty of pretty, smart girls in Dallas. It makes me think there is something wrong with him.
I thought the one on one dates were boring. We need something new!
Can’t wait until the show this summer.

  6. KLou says:

oops…I meant, “watches the Bachelor.” Oh! And we thought the flamingoes walking around in the background of their romantic dinner were hilarious!

  7. Rachel says:

I’m not team Ali or Vienna and recognize there is a ton of editing. However, Ali was talking a lot behind Vienna’s back- granted she did it to her face too. However, she did a “toast” to Corey for making fun of Vienna and asked all the girls to tell Jake what she’s really like. Ummm…that’s not catty? And that’s someone to cheer for? And then she gets on Michelle for just sitting there and not toasting. Lame.

She also decided to stick up for Elizabeth and tell Vienna it was inappropriate of her to interrupt. Who made her the one on one time scheduler. I also don’t get why girls with a rose should just sit aside and not take a moment to speak with the bachelor. They are there for Jake so why not captalize on every moment you have to make a connection.

We will see how the season continues, but no matter how much editing they pulled, Ali clearly did those things. Maybe Vienna “deserved” it, but I think if you are going to be hating on someone for talking crap about others….ummmm, don’t talk crap about them. Be the bigger person. That’s all.

But I don’t really have any favorites on this show. I like to watch it all go down in flames. LOL.

  9. KLou says:

Sorry for repeated posts…I must have hit “post” twice!

  10. SC says:

Ella’s accent makes me want to bang my head against a wall. Half of my family is from Kentucky (and I mean BUMPKINVILLE Kentucky) and their accents aren’t nearly as hick sounding as Ella. Betcha she’s turning it up a notch so she can come off as the sweet southern belle… BACKFIRE, baby!

  11. Katie says:

    1) Ella had to know her son was coming on the show, she obviously signed a release form and had to agree to him flying across the country. I think she should have stood up for what is best for her son and not have him introduced to a guy who is dating 10 women at the same time…wait at least til the hometown dates…IF she makes it that far.

    2) EDIT, EDIT, EDIT…there’s a reason we’re not shown all the things Vienna is doing in the house…a whole house wouldn’t collectively be annoyed with someone, if there wasn’t SOMETHING going on.

    3) Still love Ali…I thought she was mostly straight forward and honest with her “confrontations” and didn’t get defensive or mean about it. The Vienna club was a bit weird, but obviously she has gotten under A LOT of people’s skin.

    4) Love Jake the most for being real and getting rid of Crazy Michelle…I seriously kept seeing daggers and voo doo dolls (from Lincee’s last post) when they showed clips of her. And Elizabeth’s coy, tease of a look she constantly gave Jake during their conversations…drove me crazy! Although I loved the therapist comment…

  12. noda says:

No wonder Jake was in love with Jillian. She can’t compare to any of these “girls”. Maybe when Jill and Ed break up, she and Jake can start dating. JMO.

  13. Anony says:

#99 – Talking behind someone’s back like Vienna supposedly did was EXACTLY what Ali was doing. She talked behind Vienna’s back the entire episode.

  14. Nancy says:

Did anyone see Michelle on “Ellen” today? Either she’s had some serious coaching on how not to seem psycho, or the Bachelor editors did one hell of a job on her. She seemed almost…normal – damn! I was looking forward to some crazy talk! I think Ellen showed super-human strength by not pointing out Michelle’s psychotic behavior in a more pointed fashion!

  15. The Voice of Reason says:

She was coached up. Just like those lunatics who crashed the White House party. Nice observation, Nancy.
