Bachelor Jake: Episode 3

I’m writing a letter to Jake on yellow notebook paper.  After that, I’m going to search the upside down Spiderman kiss on YouTube so I can include it in my recap.

So much to do.  So little time.

  1. oh Jake... Said,

I think I had to hide behind a pillow all night dying to know what you have to say about it all tomorrow… look forward to your recap!

  2. MO Said,

    Ok, a few preliminary thoughts:

Michelle has a tramp stamp! LOL. I am super sad that Jake let her go. (first smart thing of the season). We always need a crazy hanging around. Also, the whole…”are you kidding, that was nothing” was totally dubbed.

Vienna wore a tutu in the hot tub. How poetic. This girl is so sad, I really wish she was going home tonight. Oh yeah, she is on “cloud Jake”…….haha she should have been on the comedy show date.

Elizabeth…..you took a gamble that did not work. Every man does not like the hard to get girl. You lose, adios.

Valishia, nearly perfect exit. Don’t cry over a commuter pilot. LOL
    Ali, we all love “Pooh”

Lastly, for the first time this season Jake is making Texas proud. He showed real guts tonight.

  3. jeneva jean Said,

I missed large chunks of the show, scalded my thigh, (when din-din water boiling noodles jumped out of the pot onto my left leg) and dealt w 3 yr old melt.down. central for a good 42 minutes…at least.
    ugh.

someone clue me in on michelle’s departure… he only ditched 2 at the ceremony – so she went early??????
    must.know!

can’t wait for blog tomorrow! don’t delay, lincee!

  4. lvdmusician Said,

Jake seems to actually be showing some kahunas…and who the heck is Valishia? I feel like tonight’s the first time I ever saw her.

    Team Ali or Ella.

  5. ChrisinColorado Said,

Did anyone know that vanilla was in the rainbow? I don’t even think rainbow skittles have a vanilla. “I’m not just vanilla, I’m every color of the rainbow.” Good one.

  6. witchy woman Said,

TMI should be the title to this episode…..gawl!! Everyone had some “deep” secret they had to confess to Jake or as a confessional!!! We even learned Jake was afraid of heights…..who would of thought? I agree that Jake finally grew a pair in dealing with some of these women!! I’m liking him just a little bit more.

This episode was filled w/ SO much material and drama…….BRING IT LINCEE!!!

  7. Marus Said,

I’m liking Vienna… she seems kind of awkward… and jake’s kind of dorky… I think it could work.

Maybe I’m just reacting to the ganging up by every other girl on Vienna…. but I’m totally on her team now.

  8. Kirsten Said,

#7 Marus – I agree with you. I think I’m reacting to the other girls bitchiness too, but I feel like Vienna doesn’t deserve the negativity they project towards her. (I know they only show us what they want us to see, but still…) Other girls interrupt each other (Vienna was interrupted on the 6-Flags date by the girl with margaritas) and they aren’t jumping all over one another. I believe it was even Elizabeth who told Vienna – after being interrupted – she needed to use her time better. Well same back at ya I guess.

I hope Ali backs off a bit – she’s just coming off as catty and bitchy with her attacking of Vienna. I was on team Ali until tonight’s episode, now I don’t really have a team because I still WANT to like Ali but she needs to re-focus her energies on positive vibes towarsds Jake instead of being the voice for the anti-Vienna contingent.

  9. saggleo Said,

#3 – jeneva jean – Jake called Michelle’s bluff and sent her packing! She pulled the “I’m going to leave card” on him and he told her to go. Just before that they had an awkward convo – her telling him she wants a husband, kids, blah blah (same story she’s been spewing). And after all that sobbing she then asked him if it would be weird or something if she asked him for a kiss right now…and he gave her this long (or it was editing) peck and she was like..”that was it, that was nothing” or something along those lines – basically she dissed it, then said she was going home, but she’d stay if he wanted her too…and he told her to go.

#8 – Kirsten – I said the same thing on the old blog post about Elizabeth dissing Vienna and telling her to utilize her time better. I immediately screamed that at the tv when she told her they weren’t done. LOL We’ll maybe if she hadn’t spent half her time trying to be all “sexy” and teasing him and putting her hand under her hair to flip it up and prop herself up just right and give him the stare…she’d have used her time more wisely.

It always irritates me when they get to talking about another girl to the bach behind her back…and won’t say half the stuff to her face. And telling him first, THEN telling her DOESN’T make you a badazz in my eyes!

  10. saggleo Said,

Ok Marus got an answer on the pregnant line – but I’m not sure if it’s spoiler material since it wasn’t aired on the show. I don’t think it’s a spoiler but I’m not trying to be a part of that camp either. Crappers – I’m perplexed.

  11. krazy train Said,

i’m glad I am not the only one feeling kind of sorry for vienna. her apology seemed pretty sincere and the mean girls were right back at it with her. maybe she, too, will turn out to be another whack job………… I hope not. michelle was def. riding the crazy train!! a lot of the girls seemed more interested in each other then with jake……..ouch!

  12. Jasmin Said,

I didn’t watch tonight’s episode (will do tomorrow on abc.com or later this week) but I’m SO LOOKING FORWARD to your review! It’s the highlight of my week. :D

  13. AussieNatalie Said,

downloading atm (because goodness knows WHEN it would air here in Australia lol we’re JUST seeing HTC Brad now!) but download is SOOOOOOOOOOOO slow (seed people lol) that it could be Friday before I get to watch so EAGERLY awaiting Lincee’s HILARIOUS review.

  14. Marus Said,

10 saggleo… i guess i will have to wait and find out… i’m afraid to even google the bachelor because of spoilers. :-( crap.

i do wonder about these dates though…. what’s the sense of going on a date that terrifies you both? seriously, how is that fun? :-0

  15. ~~~BachelorFaninVirginia~~ Said,

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    CRAZY, RANDOM THOUGHT:
    Tenley suddenly reminded me of MARCIA BRADY last night…………….
    MARCIA!
    MARCIA!
    MARCIA!
    Take a good look at her……….
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  16. Lindsey Said,

Just wanted to post the links to:

    Jake’s blog: http://tvwatch.people.com/2010/01/19/the-bachelor-blog-jake-takes-the-plunge/
    OHCH’s blog: http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/01/19/chris-harrison-bachelor-blog-episode-3/

to tide us over until Lincee’s blog is up. Happy reading!

  17. Lori Said,

On Chris Harrison’s blog there is a deleted scene of Tenley telling Jake she is pregnant, then saying “Just kidding!”. It seems somewhat lame that they used that scene last week in the preview.

Another thing, why do they make them do things that they are terrified to do? Jake and Vienna both were afraid to bungy jump….does Jake have no say in the matter beforehand?

    Looking forward to the recap!

  18. Ali Said,

Did Jake look like a big ol’ baby right before the bungee jumping scene? OMG, I was dying. Can’t wait to read your recap Lincee, hurry!!

  19. Ali Said,

I meant to say “Did Jake look like a big ol’ baby right before the bungee jumping scene or what?!”

  20. Juno Said,

All right – my first official “throw something at the screen” moment of the season. Elizabeth, surrounded by the other girls, complaining that Jake is pressuring her to kiss him, and that she’s afraid if she doesn’t give in she won’t get a rose!! Oh please, Elizabeth, you’re 29 years old. Meaning you should have graduated from high school at least 10 years ago. Or is this junior high? I have to say, my opinion of Jake went up last night – I may actually end up liking the guy! Accurately identifying the nutcases, even though they were two of the prettiest girls, physically – good job!

And Tenley totallly had the Marcia Brady thing going last night. Good call.

  21. Heather Said,

Did y’all hear what Jake said to Valisha (the homemaker) as she was leaving? It sounded something like “give your best to your kids for me” or something like that. Maybe it was my imagination I’m trying to justify her occupation.

  22. Denise Said,

Totally digging Jake after last night’s episode. He has completely redeemed himself for asking Michelle to leave and for calling Elizabeth out on her teasing. And she STILL didn’t get that it wasn’t just about him wanting to kiss her. Bon voyage to her.

I am disgusted with Ali. She is the ring leader of the bi*ches now. I hope Jake gets to see that. I felt so sorry for Vienna. They are definitely being harder on her than anyone else.

And is Gia’s lisp bugging anyone else besides me??!!

  23. Billie Jean Said,

Heather – I was gonna ask if anyone else heard that too!!! SO glad you did so I know I’m not nuts. He definately said something about enjoying her kids or giving them his best, but I’m sure I heard “kids” in there.

I had leaned a bit more toward Viena after their date, but then her performance the rest of the evening turned me back off of her. And what is with all the girls whining about her stealing “alone” time when she has a rose?? Hello – news flash here —- you all are NOT best friends, you’re all competeing for the same guy! All is fair in love & war ladies!! Makes for better entertainment…… waiting for a stellar recap as usual, Lincee.

  24. Stacy Said,

and what was up with Ella changing clothes so much back and forth? Seemed like editing but in some, her son was still there. Blue dress, brown jacket, blue dress, brown jacket…

  25. Mo Said,

@Denise. Her lisp drives me nuts too!

  26. Lacia C Said,

Yay, Jake sent home two of the crazies!! Go Jake! Those girls were so mean to Vienna, even after she apologized. They are all clearly jealous of Vienna so it must be clear to them that Jake likes her. I am disgusted with Ali the most. So high school. Other girls are entitled to talk to Jake, and other girls are entitled to one-on-one dates with Jake! Wow. I don’t blame Vienna for wanting to talk to Jake at the cocktail party after hearing that the other girls were talking behind her back and she wasn’t there to defend herself at the time.

I think Vienna is getting a Molly edit from Jason’s season, sort of. It draws comparisons to how Molly was edited when she came back from her one-on-one date with Jason that turned into an overnight date…..the rest of the girls immediately disliked her. But I like Vienna’s personality better than Molly’s! I never could stand Molly saying to Jason “I’m in love with yeeeeow”

    anyway….

Jake seemed to enjoy his Sea World date with Ella, he seemed to be the most relaxed on that date compared to others. Granted, he wasn’t bungee jumping on that date but he seemed to enjoy the time with Ella and her son.

  27. MarriedWithEyes Said,

#20 Heather – He did say something like that to Valisha. She definitely has kids.
#21 Denise – the lisp bothers me a bit too and although I wouldn’t pick Vienna out for him I don’t think she deserves all the hating. They just need to tell her to keep her gushing down and her thoughts that she knows him best. I think her interaction with Ella, trying to explain to her all about Jake, would have sent me over the edge. But she is 23!!!!! She is insecure. Give her a break.

I doubt Jake picked the bridge jumping date for himself but I’m happy for him that he went thru with it. I’ve read that doing things together that makes your adrenaline levels rise give off phermones (sp?) that attrach the opposite sex. I remember that Molly and Jason did the jumping thing and wondering if that gave her an edge on the attraction. I think it drew them together and because she was truly nurturing and adventerous it took her up in his estimation.

But nobody is goingt to win by knocking her down. When will these girls learn that? Jake is a hero and he will jump in to save, protect, rescue, etc…. they are setting her up for him to protect and cherish.

That said – I NEVER get why girls with roses interrupt alone time of those who don’t have them. They don’t learn either.

  28. Lacia C Said,

p.s. @Married with Eyes — that’s right, Molly and Jason had the bridge jumping date also, just like Jake and Vienna. Vienna is getting a Molly edit!

  29. One more thing... Said,

Vienna is a total ditz. But no one deserves to be treated like that!

  30. Kimmy Gibbler Said,

I’m not a Vienna fan – can’t get passed the cross-eyed look she gives. However – doesn’t the situation of Jake like Vienna but all the other women telling Jake that Vienna is totally different when he’s not around remind you of something?? Let me think, think, think. Oh year – that’s it! When Jillian liked Wes and all the other guys were telling her how different he was when she wasn’t around. Does Jake not see the parallel situation there?

I liked Ali before – but she is losing it with being queen anti-Vienna.
Thank goodness Michelle is gone! I LOVED that Jake took her up on her offer to leave., but not before one of the best kissing scenes ever! It was so funny when they had finished kissing – he pulled away and had a big smile on his face, obviously expecting to see her all giddy, but then she was like “that’s all you got!” Classic!

  31. KatDC Said,

Okay – Elizabeth IS a total tease. My husband watched last night and we both agreed that between this week and last if Elizabeth doesn’t watch and see her teasing him with all that I won’t kiss you, but you wanna kiss me, rub-rub-rub, no, yes…blah blah blah, you can better believe she is totally clueless. I’m glad he kicked her to the curb. As my hubby says, guys don’t like to have to work that hard. Geez, even I was throwing things at her when she told the girls she had to kiss him to get a rose. Was she even part of that conversation with Jake or what?!

  32. Tina Said,

I am now on TEAM ELLA! Love her after last night’s episode. She is classy, gorgeous, and seems like a great mom. A lot of the girls I liked in the first 2 episodes moved down a few notches last night: Ali, Corrie, Ashley. I thought Jake and Vienna’s date was great, and she really did step up and be the nurturing person he needed at that moment (side note: I almost wet my pants watching Jake freak out before he jumped!). There is definitely a strong physical attraction between them, but she seems like she is playing a game with him. I’m not buying it…

And Gia really started to grow on me last night…

  33. Emily Said,

Ok, I know everyone always complains about the girls being more interested in each other than Jake… but lets be honest. They have met Jake like 3 times and spent maybe 8 hours with him? And most of those 8 hours were on group dates? They’ve lived with each other for 2-3 weeks… it makes sense that they would be way more interested in each other than some guy they don’t know.

I’ve thought Gia was completely gorgeous since they first posted pics of the bachelorettes… now, it seems she’s really sweet too! Team Gia!

  34. carried Said,

#20 Heather…I thought he said, “I wish you the best” or something like that…I wasn’t aware that she had kids. I barely remember her!

  35. Sherm Said,

Tina #31, I am with you about Gia. She seems more mature than I originally thought, but I do want to see her get a date soon so we can really check her out.

I cannot believe Jessie is still there since she has never said Boo. She is pretty, but she and Jake seem to have had no interaction whatsoever and she is mute around the girls. Mega editing or something. There must be a reason she is still there.

I thought it hilarious when Valisha was leaving and she said “I put it all out there…” etc. Really? When? Girl, you never got a date with the man! No surprise to me at all that she was going, nor was it surprising that she has kids, but why would Jake tell her to give them his best? I immediately thought she had to have been a plant/friend that he knows in real life. And now it was time for her to leave because he finally got rid of the insane crazies. Just my little conspiracy theory.

I think Vienna isn’t worth all the drama, and as much as she is growing slightly on me, I still can’t look at her without thinking about her intro where she was so immature and making out with her dog. Can you imagine the field day these chicks would be having with her if they had seen that before they started shooting?

I also just need to add that Tenley’s hair looks so much prettier when she leaves it straight.

  36. Cindi Said,

I heard that Crazy Michelle will be on Ellen tomorrow (Wed)! Could be interesting!

  37. Sara Said,

Glad Jake grew some balls and nipped stuff in the bud relating to Elizabeth and Michelle. I was worried he was ball-less after the multiple boohoo sessions and pissing himself before jumping off the bridge.

Ali- WOW, total change from last week. She’s went from America’s sweetheart to leader of the mean girls. She acts as if she has already won. It’s not your place to set Vienna straight- get over yourself.

Ella- what a snoozer of a date. NO chemistry!

Elizabeth- I would LOVE to see the uncut version of her comedy routine. Wowza. But seriously, cut the crap. You know he didn’t dump you because you didn’t kiss him. I think she kept repeating that in hopes that she would get good editing and they would make Jake look bad. I was impressed that he figured her out- that she wanted to be the one with the power. Look how quick she backed off the no-kiss-rule once she realized it wasn’t working.

Brunettes- good luck! Jake clearly likes blondes

  38. houstonlawyer Said,

Why was it that the girls kept talking about Viena always causing drama in the house, yet I can’t recall ever seeing a clip of her causing drama or saying anything bad about the other girls. Have I missed something?

  39. OKCBecky Said,

have to say — and this is not a spoiler so don’t any your panties in a wad! Apparently Reality Steve said Ella was going home last night — he was wrong — perhaps ABC has finally gotten smart and started lobbing out miscues just for him…. if so – way to go ABC

Also – she’s a dark horse, but I like Cory and Ashleigh — they seem very normal

  40. Canada Said,

Is it me or have they never shown Jake talking to Jessie (the dark haired one from Canada) after the first episode? I’m surprised that she keeps getting chosen

  41. Canada Said,

Sherm #34 you beat me to it

  42. Lori H Said,

I’m jumping on team Ella too after last night. Ali showed her other side – she was so cute, but now she’s getting vicious. I kept yelling at the TV last night when Ella kept saying “so sweet of Jake to do this for me” – hello – the PRODUCERS did this for you! I liked seeing Jake with her son – cute.

Vienna was OK last night – totally thought about the Spiderman kiss too…so glad crazy Michelle is gone. And Elizabeth? Totally agree with Jake – she was playing all sweet, and then she gets all raunchy at the comedy club? Total tease – glad to see her hit the road as well.

Wonder who will bake the cookies now that Valishia (or whatever her name was) is gone?

  43. KeelyG Said,

#22 Denise – the thing that bugs about Gia is her over injected lips. She looks like a duck.

Vienna is a train wreck. Isn’t she the girl that confessed that she eloped with some random person after she was dumped by the preachers son? She is upset beacause she is a BEEP in front and behind the camera and is not liked by the rest of the girls. Don’t apologize and then CRY when they won’t accept your apology. I don’t think it’s a jealosy thing…I think it’s a Vienna drama thing. If she put on a tiara, she would look just like Tiara Erica.

Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Elizabeth….don’t you know guys don’t like Teases??? Jake isn’t kissing ALL the girls and who cares….It’s the game of the show.

And for my opionion of Michelle….ding dong the witch is gone. The CRAZY witch….anyway…

I’m for Ali but agree she needs to stay focused on Jake, not Vienna. And Ella but I think there isn’t enough chemistry b/t them or it was just having the kid there didn’t set the mood but loved the date.

  44. SDF Said,

Lori H Said, Ella kept saying “so sweet of Jake to do this for me”

I know right- and we know now that the date was originally planned for Roz and her son. HA!

  45. Lizzie Said,

Wow….where do I begin…? Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that when I first saw Vienna get out of the limo and her intro background bio…I was a little disturbed to say the least and all I could think of was that girl whose name escapes me at the minute…last name Rose from Houston….anyway, I figured she’d be one of the first girls to go but now, I really think she’s starting to grow on me and if she says she’s there for him and he seems to like her…hey, whatever works, right!!

Now, I felt the exact oppposite about Ali…loved her from get go….but after last night, geez…I know girls can be catty but she appears to be a bit of a sh*t distuber and she’s really rubbing me the wrong way.!

I thought Corrie was straight up obnoxious with her comedic performance (if you can call it that) and then when they got back to the house and ganged up on Vienna….that was almost hard to watch. Thank God Jake finally grew a pair and told Michelle and Elizabeth exactly what he thought of them….GO JAKE!! :) As far as Ella….still on the fence on her.

On a final note….just a few things I wondered if anyone else noticed…
    (1) Was it just my imagination or was there a “nip slip” with Ali in her bikini….? I swear I saw nipple!
    (2) The graceful way Vienna entered the pool…aka belly flop… after the hot tub…HAHAHA!!
    (3) What the heck was on the side of Ella’s face….it was either a mosquito bite or one hell of a zit..! : )

Okay…I’m done venting….can’t wait for the blog Lincee…this is gonna be priceless!!!!

  46. KeelyG Said,

    Lizzie….YES! I saw all 3 of those too…..

And the smile to the camera guy after Elizabeth did her crying binge.

  47. Cindy Said,

Wow!! Was last night a train wreck or what?? Even my husband was hiding behind pillows a few times.

#21 @ Denise — right there with you. Back off Ali. Last week I thought she was so all American.. this week — Queen of the B**ches… WOW!

#27 @houstonlawyer — I agree — we all know it’s the editing.. but boy, Vienna must really be busy being nasty behind the scenes, cuz we sure haven’t seen it!

    Wow, wow. wow.

  48. Linda Said,

Did anyone catch Jake on Ellen yesterday. Sounds like he is not picking anyone to be his wife.

So glad he finally got rid of the bunny boiler, Michelle, and got sick of Elizabeth’s games. She has the nerve saying Michelle needs a therapist before a husband. I think the same goes for her.

I think Ella and Ali are the best of the bunch. Gia is growing on me too. She seems pretty nice and normal.

  49. Travelbug Said,

#29–Kimmy Gibbler–I noticed the Vienna/Wes parallel too. I wondered why Jake didn’t press anyone more about WHY they didn’t like Vienna. He seems like he’s getting overwhelmed with “the process” and doesn’t even seem to be enjoying it. The comedy club was so painful. Corrie was downright cruel and I don’t think Jake is the type of person who laughs at other’s expense. He laughed because everyone else did, that was obvious. I can’t stand mean girl Ali “it’s a PACT”, or Tenley. Tenley is putting on an act that she is all sweet but I think it’s a load of crap. I don’t know why Gia is on this show. She was dating some baseball player before right? So now she’s desperate for the love of a commercial pilot who makes an average of $40,000 a year? He couldn’t possibly support any of these high maintenance gals and their purse buying habits!

  50. Erin Said,

Vienna kind of reminds me of Robin from Real World/Road Rules Challenge. Anybody??

    @BachelorFaninVirginia, Totally agree!

  51. JennX Said,

Tina: just curious what evidence you have that Ella is a “good mom”? Mostly we saw was her mooning over Jake with her back to the son she hasn’t seen in weeks. Also, no good moms I know would leave their kid for such an extended period of time to be on a reality TV dating show. Maybe she IS a good mom– I just don’t see how us viewers could assess that.

Also, ABC needs some new staff or something because the rerun dates/contestants is getting ridiculous. All that was missing from Ella’s date was a shot of her running to meet Ethan with a motherly head butt.

  52. Mo Said,

Ella is Stephanie (from Jason’s season) sans jewelry. I see not chemistry there, at all!!!

  53. Tina Said,

JennX – no “evidence” and you make a good point about no good mom would leave their kid. I guess what I should have said was she seemed like a loving mom and that she had a good kid (which would = , at least to me, that she is a good mom). Regardless, I think we’ve all made judgements about these girls with little to no “evidence”. We just go on our feelings/gut…

  54. Lorraine Said,

Lizzie, it wasn’t just you. I thought I saw the same thing when they showed Ali in that bikini.

Vienna is not my favorite, but I think her problem is her age, and her internal censor seems to be turned off. In her real life she probably speaks without thinking a lot. I can’t speak for what ABC doesn’t let us see, but generally when the girls start telling the bachelor that someone “isn’t ther for the right reasons”, we usually see some of the actions. There seams to be a big piece of the puzzle missing.

  55. Tracy Said,

Did anyone else pick up on Ali saying “all of us girls have had to walk away from a situation with you where you were talking bad about the other girls”?? I think they aren’t showing Vienna in her true fashion. Why would Ali say that? Vienna must be bad mouthing other girls and we just aren’t seeing. So they are making Ali look like she is being a bitch, when I think she was just calling Vienna out for being two-faced! TEAM ALI!! And glad to see that Reality Steve was WRONG with his prediction about Ella leaving on the Sea World date. I like Ella, but not for Jake. We could have played a drinking game with how many time Elizabeth said “kiss me” last night! Did she really not get it?? Glad she is gone.

  56. Tracy Said,

Tina & JennX – Didn’t you pick up on her first reaction – “What are YOU doing here??” I have a seven year old, and my first reaction would NOT have been that. She didn’t seem genuinely happy to see him at first, IMO. Agreed, I would never leave my seven year old at home for that long to go gamble on finding a daddy for him. CRAZY! But this was supposed to be her romantic date with Jake, and she had her son with them. I hope she gets another chance to spend quality time with just Jake, see if they even have anything in common.

  57. Lorraine Said,

I meant “There seems to be a big piece of the puzzle missing”.

  58. Alli Said,

Did anyone else see the commercials (I saw them online) for the BIG BREAKING NEWS from Tenley? (trying not to spoil it) It was supposed to be part of last night’s show, then they didn’t even air it!!! What’s the deal with that, anyone know??

Looking forward to the recap, Lincee!! :)

  59. Tina Said,

#55 Tracy — it was an odd thing to say, but I chalk it up to her watching last season’s Bachelor and watching Stephanie head-butt her little girl. Maybe she was making a conscious effort not to knock her kid out or be too overly excited? Either way, I’m cutting her some slack.

  60. Sherm Said,

#55 Tracy – I am completely in agreement. I have two 7 year olds and I thought the exact same thing. She was not looking like a mom who had missed her son and was thrilled to see him. For the love of God, she didn’t even get up from the bench! I would have been jumping around screaming to see my girls. But then, I wouldn’t have left them to find love in the first place.

  61. Marus Said,

    #55, 58, 59

I was thinking she might be a little upset to have her son involved at this stage of the game. She even said that normally, she wouldn’t even THINK of introducing a man to her son this early.

It would’ve been nice if Jake gave the kid his plane back though, instead of some crappy balsawood glider.

  62. Tracy Said,

#53 Lorraine – I agree…what are we not seeing from Vienna? Maybe I’ve just missed it, but I haven’t really seen her talking bad about anyone like Ali suggested. And kuddos to Ali for standing up to her if she is bad mouthing the other girls. I am kidda liking Gia now too. Guess we’ll have to wait for the Women Tell All to hear all about what Vienna was really like.

  63. KoKo from Mo City Said,

I personally though Ali and the ladies putting Vienna in her place was the right thing to do. We have nto seen all of the goings on in the house and, like everyone says, it is editing, editing, editing.

Now, Jessie may be a “Jen” for the Andrew Firestone season. He hardly spoke to her until towards the end either. It is not a gooood thing ’cause they did not work out, but I’m just pointing out the obvious.

I can’t wait for next week and the “do I have to give out the final two roses?” question to OHCH!!!

  64. Tracy Said,

    Who is Jessie?

  65. PBsDH Said,

I had to leave the room during the “comedy” club segment – it was just too painful to watch.

Ella’s zit/mosquito bite was totally distracting. I felt like Austin powers in that scene with Fred “The Mole” Savage. Ziiiiiiiit….Zittyzittyzitty zit!

Loved, LOVED seeing Michell’s and Elizabeth’s mind games backfire on them.

My wife pointed out that Jake’s ginormous motorcycle helmet makes him look like The Great Gazoo. Now I can’t stop snickering every time he rides up wearing it.

  66. H-town Aggie Said,

#20 Heather- read somewhere Valisha’s husband had an affair, left her, and they have 2 kids, so basically she is a stay at home divorced mom, who I think is somesort of part time news/”talk show” host in her hometown.

  67. AggieM Said,

Did anyone else notice the dead tulips in the background of several of Jake’s interviews? Was the ABC intern fired b/c of the recession?? It drove me nuts!!

  68. L Said,

Can someone send us a link of Jesse’s picture? I can’t find it on the ABC website (all I get are the episodes).

    Thanks!

  69. Juno Said,

Regarding Vienna: she grew on me last night as well. But not only was there Ali’s comment, remarked upon above, that “we’ve all had to walk away from bad things you were saying about the other girls” but also remember that part of Corrie’s routine, mimicking Vienna, was “and I love to go around talking crap about the other girls.” So clearly there is a LOT we are not getting to see here. But ain’t that always the way?

Not really seeing Jake with any of these women…er, I mean, girls. But I am much more convinced that he is a genuine, sincere person after last night than I have been at any moment before that (including Jillian’s season).

  70. Tracy Said,

    # 68 Juno – I agree that I like Jake more now. I like that he took the bull by the horns so to speak and called out Lizzie for her teasing and Michelle’s “I’ll go home unless you ask me to stay” crap.

#66 AggieM, maybe the fired staffer was responsible for the flowers.

  71. SDF Said,

    #57- RE: Alli Said,
Did anyone else see the commercials (I saw them online) for the BIG BREAKING NEWS from Tenley?

There was a voiceover of her saying she is Preggo on the commercials…they didn’t air it on the show but you can see it on Chris Harrison’s blog. When she tells Jake that she is divorced, she starts the convo by saying she’s preggo then J/K.

  72. Tracy Said,

#47 Linda I did watch Jake yesterday and he didn’t seem all that happy. I’m sure (or at least hope) that he picks someone, but maybe they aren’t together anymore? Maybe he will pull a Jason and change his mind! I see the “Ali for the next Bachelorette” stuff, but I am still hoping Jake picks her.

  73. Lauren Said,

Okay, so I am NOT on the bandwagon for Vienna. Everytime I look at her, I wonder what color her hair is naturally. I think she would look so much prettier with dark hair. The blonde hair looks awkward and wrong! She is completely annoying and immature!!

I am very proud of Jake for ditching Elizabeth and Michelle. Two crazies down!! Yay!!

As for Valisha, someone mentioned early on that she has 2 kids and either her husband left her or died….not sure which. You have to remember that there is editing and her time with Jake was just not shown. Same as Corrie and Jessie. I think Jessie is adorable and my husband is convinced that she is the sleeper.

As for Ali, I still love her!! I think the editing might just have shown her as the leader of the mean girls. I think she has the best chemistry with Jake – that has been shown anyway.

I still don’t like Ella because of the intro that they showed of her. She did seem really nice on her date though.

  74. Juliet Said,

I thought last night’s episode was one of the most hilarious yet. Jake may have been a weenie at the bungee jump but stood up to two crazy girls very respectably IMO.
Gia is very sexy and sweet–I’m sure they have a lovely date at the winery next week, but sorry–her comic book face and baby voice would get to me after a while. Plus she’s a dress up kind of girl from what I see–Jake likes the sporty side of a woman a lot.
Jessie is the pretty dark haired girl from Canada –they aren’t giving her much air time so that may say something.
I still thnk Ali is a good match for him–sexy, sporty, smart and strong. She just needs to focus those energies on Jake and not Vienna.
‘Can’t wait for Lincee to give us some comic relief on this crazy episode!!!

  75. L Said,

Anyone notice the crazy big wine glasses that Jake and Vienna used on their date? They were so odd!!

  76. love it Said,

Michelle: “I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to be married.”
    Jake: “I believe you.”
    Classic. Thank you.

  77. Marus Said,

I think I’m on team Vienna BECAUSE she’s not as conventionally pretty and poised as some of the other women, has regular features and bad hair extensions. And I think Jake really seems to like her… I really like that of all the women who told him they’re here for him, he told her that she’s here for her too.

Sure, she ran off and got married at 18 because she was upset. And it didn’t take nearly as long for her to admit it as it took Tenley to admit that she had been married and was now divorced (seemingly, thru no fault of her own.

She’s a little annoying… but in an oblivious way, which sort of endears her to me. I think she owns her faults and doesn’t apologize for them. And it makes me like her. :)

  78. Em Said,

Lincee – your blog is hilarious, I am a fan from the e-mail days! I work from home, so this blog is like my watercooler ;-)

I was a huge Reid fan and not that excited about Jake this season, but decided to stick with it mostly because of this blog! I have to say Jake grew on me last night. I literally LOL’d when Michelle said I am looking for a husband and Jake responded “I believe you”. I don’t think it was meant to be funny, but I laughed so very hard!! He had to sense her desperation. I was so proud of Jake for actually sending her home right then and there.

Although, I don’t think Ali should walk around like Queen Bee, I also feel there is A LOT we are not seeing with Vienna. There has to be some reason they are all annoyed with her and felt they needed to mention it to Jake. I am having a hard time choosing my favorite right now.

Ok, break’s over! This blog and the fun comments make Tuesdays so much better!

  79. totsie Said,

i just don’t think there is a girl for Jake in this crazy bunch. Where did they GET these girls?

Jillian is a hard act to follow.

  80. Kim Said,

Whoa! Look who grew some cojones! Yay Jake!

I had to watch the Michelle scene a couple times while shrieking “Oh, she did NOT!” Priceless.

And I’m so glad Jake gave the nanny the boot. I couldn’t stand how giggly and coy she was while he was trying to have a serious discussion with her. Ick. And after the rose ceremony when she was all “I should have kissed you” the TV was pummeled with throw (literally) pillows.

    No chemistry with Ella. Sad.

And, dear Corrie, *that* was really unattractive. I wish you had a little more class. Why are all the girls complaining to Jake that they don’t get along with Vienna? He’s not their camp counselor!

  81. Juliet Said,

There are so many patterns to this show–some in the repeat planning of the dates by producers and good old human nature at it’s best.
ie: Ali had the first date and all the excitement that goes with that, including a live concert. Very romantic. Jake fell head over heels in love at that same point with Jillian and went goofy trying to keep up the high–even getting protective. Ali is doing all the same things.
I wish ABC had followed Ellens suggestion-made Jake keep Michelle around all season–”MIchelle cam” spots throughout the episodes. See her cutting Vienna’s extentions off, jumping on Ali like a wild cat, madly looking for her medication—endless fun.

  82. heidi Said,

Jake looked like he was going to simultaneously cry, vomit, pee his pants, and pass out at the bungee jump date! too funny!
Viena’s bikini on that date reminded me of a swimsuit I had when I was 4- with the ruffle around the butt. I missed large chunks of the episode last night because I was watching HIMYM, but I’m definitely not on team Viena. She still comes off like a spoiled brat to me. And she cried when they wouldn’t accept her apology, which wasn’t really an apology at all. Part of asking for forgivness is the promise that you will change your ways, which she basically said, I’m sorry you are offended, but I’m not going to do anything different.
I’m super excited for the rose burning next week! Go Jake!

  83. My Awesomeness Said,

Okay, I totally noticed the biggest wine glasses EVER! Why wasn’t that on the promo? Instead they promo the preggers thing (gotcha!) and don’t show it during the show but only as a deleted scene as a joke. Lame ABC.

ABC is totally manipulating the edit as usual – they are trying to put Vienna in a better light and not showing us what Vienna is doing to drive the rest of the house nuts. She is only 23 and very immature. Sure she has a nice side for Jake…Ali is now getting the mean edit – when to me she just seems to being trying to be direct instead of catty behind her back.

I thought Ella was very happy to see her son (tears in her eyes) but a little dismayed too. I would be – I want to get to know this guy before my son sees me with him – now she is all – “he would make such a great dad”…way before she knows that they have something. Kiss of death, bless her heart.

  84. My Awesomeness Said,

Loving that Jake is calling their bluff! Elizabeth if you are going to play that many games you have to provide instructions for the players!

  85. Alicia Said,

My favorite quote of the evening…”I’m on cloud Jake.” I completely squealed at the television.

  86. KoKo from Mo City Said,

#81 – heidi – I told my sister the same thing last night. All was missing was the multiple rows of ruffles and blow-up fins!

  87. Rachel Said,

Wow, this whole episode was soooo classic. I loved every minute.

First, Ali- even if Vienna was talking behind other’s backs and being dramatic, Ali certainly took it to a new height to start the “Anti-Vienna” club. She then called out Michelle for not toasting to it. Come on…that’s just silly and pathetic.

Michelle- wow. That girl just wants to be married and she didn’t care whether it was Jake or Chris Harrison. I agree- she needs a therapist, stat. However, ABC- that clip was obviously dubbed. While I found it entertaining, you could at least make it a little more realisitic.

Elizabeth- she’s clueless. I think she is used to not lifting a finger to snag a man’s attention (and she’s obviously beautiful enough.) However, she had some competition and she had no idea how not to be the only pretty chick. She really crashed and burned on that game.

Vienna- I have no idea what to make out of her, since there might be something going on we aren’t seeing. However, I’ve noticed that when mean girls get together and go out head hunting, generally all it takes is a little tiny thing to blow up and feed their fire. Vienna could be doing annoying crap, but I’m not sure it deserves the hate. Granted, I would find her “Jake likes this, Jake likes that” routine a little too much, but she’s immature so I don’t think she knows when to just be classy and shut the trap.

Gia- I thought her giving Vienna a hug and admitting that she’s the only one trying to resist the mean girl take over made her endearing. Her lips are ridiculous, but it seems she has a nice heart.

Ella- Stephanie all over. She’s entered the friend zone. I think the first dates with kids will bomb every time. No one wants to make that a romantic day. The attention is usually on the kids.

Jake- WOW. I’m impressed. It’s almost like someone pulled the wool off his eyes and he’s no longer starry-eyed. He means business.

  88. gc Said,

now that all the crazys are gone… is this show going to be remotely interesting?

  89. C List Said,

I’m not quite Team Vienna – can’t get past that awful first impression – but I do feel a little more sympathy for her. She’s probably getting a better edit than she deserves, but she also seems to be getting worse treatment from the other bach’ettes than she deserves. They harp on her for interrupting, but they all do the same thing. Yeah, she already had a rose, so that made it a little worse. But why not just tell her you need two more minutes? Is that against the rules or something (Former Bach’ette, any guidance there?). In any event, she could have given Elizabeth an hour, and nothing would have changed. That girl was singing the same song over and over. “What? Me? A tease? Never!”. So glad she’s gone. That schtick was getting old fast.

I used to like Ali, but I’m not into the mean girls thing.

Good rittance crazy Michelle! Migawd. Desperate, much? I hope she doesn’t have a real career, because it’s going to be hard saving face after those meltdowns of hers…

And I guess I just don’t see the “good mom” thing from Ella. Agreed, good moms don’t go on this show. And my hubby called it last night – she looked more concerned about that kid ruining her hair and makeup than anything. $10 says we find out after the show that her parents or some other relative have actually been raising her kid since his infancy….

  90. Enriquo Said,

I just thought it was funny that Ella had at least 2 outfits for a trip to sea world. I always have at least one extra outfit in my backpack when I have no idea where I am being taken.

  91. MCS Said,

It’s all in the edit folks! They are showing what they want us to see! Anyone wondering why they haven’t shown scenes of Vienna to support the reason for the girls’ dislike. My guess is they are trying to give her a positive edit for those of us at home! By a show of hands :-) , how many people were team Vienna before last night. I guess only time will tell. I know many (including me) were Ali fans. After last night people seem to be jumping off the bandwagon. Like I said, it’s all in the edit!

  92. MCS Said,

On another note, Jake is turning out to be a great bachelor! Maybe not the most fun to watch but you can tell he is really there to find someone and isn’t into playing the stupid games. It’s about time we had a grownup bachelor!

  93. Marus Said,

One thing I though was weird on Jake and Vienna’s date – all I ever heard them talk about was the bungee jumping, yet at one point Jake said he had asked her a lot of hard questions and she had answered them honestly. So Vienna’s edit is that we get no info at all? I want to know what they talked about!

  94. Lauren Said,

Wow…I’m shocked at Ali’s behavior. I REALLY liked her for the first 2 episodes and was SO disappointed to see her talk about others so meanly behind their back. :( Boo.

Very impressed with how Jake handled the crazies though. :)

  95. Tina Said,

Did all of you notice how TIRED and worn-out poor Jakey-poo looked last night? I think it must be a combination of all the drama/games and the very late hours they keep on the Bachelor. Poor guy. I wanted to offer him a pillow, a blanket and an Ambien.

  96. Lauren Said,

#89…I agree that they edit like crazy, but Ali was a jerk last night in forming the anti-Vienna club and I think that no matter how bad Vienna was, that was childish and ridiculous of her to do. So even that can’t have been edited enough to where she wasn’t actually being mean in my opinion.

  97. Rozie Said,

I am really starting to love this season! Ali acted just like my 9 year old daughter on this episode…sulky, snooty, very bossy and sour puss face. I did not like this side of her and she is not my fav anymore. I do like Vienna and think she’s got spunk. Come on what beter cenario for Jake – if hard times fall like now they can always go to her rich Dad for a little extra help.

  98. VirginiaWaxQueen Said,

#44– I totally saw Ali’s nip slip!!! Couldn’t believe my eyes!

and did I spy an oddly placed tatoo on Vile Vienna’s mid-section??

  99. Paul Said,

After last night, the person I am beginning to like is…Jake. He told Michelle to take a hike, cut Elizabeth when he needed to, even though he was attracted to her and also cut Valisha, whose only distinction was being a single homemaker (with unmentioned kids). Ali’s stock dropped a ton. She showed no grace or maturity in the Vienna feud. She’s acting like a high schooler–too young to settle down. I think Jake will pick up on that. So who does that leave? Anybody? Corrie’s stock rose a little. I find her atttractive (my wife doesn’t) and she showed some personality at the comedy club. Also, the blonde who was nervous to perform at the club. She’s not bad looking and came across as genuine. Vienna is not nearly as bad as the other mean girls say she is. She gained some ground at the bungy jumping. She showed some pose, comforting poor Jake when she too was scared. But she talks too much, lacks interpersonal savvy and I don’t like her cross eyes. I am not checking out the spoilers so right now I think Jake picks…no one. But that could change.

  100. beens Said,

#76 Marus, you said it perfect about Vienna I’m with you on that one. I am on Team Vienna as well.

  101. Colorado Cat Said,

KeelyG, Lorraine, Tracy and Koko from MO city I am right there with you girls. I don’t get the Vienna love here…I am not bashing her by any means – she is a pretty girl and last week I didn’t get the Vienna bashing. She seems like she *could* be a sweetheart but she is WAY too young for our boy Jake. He’s 31 and she’s 23. And she doesn’t even seem like a mature 23 year old…sometimes the age difference doesn’t matter but last night watching them on their one-on-one I just had visions of her on top of a bar somewhere doing shots and partying the night away. I just don’t see the two of them at the end of this walking down the aisle (not that I ever expect that anymore). I also don’t get the sudden Ali haters…geez people she was just being direct with Vienna and not talking crap about her behind her back (like apparently Vienna was doing to everyone else). I also don’t get the Ella connection but he likes her. I am definitely team ALI!

  102. KLou Said,

My teenage son, who rarely watched the Bachelor, was watching with me last night and when the Ella and son part came on my son said sarcastically, “That’s probably not even her kid. She probably just rented him out for a few weeks to play her son on TV. It probably wasn’t her birthday the other day, either. She just said so in order to get the fun birthday/kid date.” We were then cracking up everytime she said something like, “I love being a mom” and “He’s such a neat kid.” And when the kid got into the car at the end of the date, I said to my son, “So, who’s in the car?” And he said, “His real parents!” It would explain why Ella wasn’t overly excited to see him and not overly upset to see him leave. I’m just saying…

  103. Tracy Said,

Oh come on people…Ali is the only one with enough confidence to stand up to Vienna! She put her in her place and I don’t think she was childish in doing it (well, except for forming a club…a litle childish). It has to be a little frustrating to get the first date, think all is well and he has strong feelings for you, only to be shunned for a horse-faced debutant (sp?). There has to be a reason Ali is so quick to reject the apology and all the other girls seem to be right there with Ali, just to chicken to speak up (or they aren’t showing it). Team Ali!! Gotta go read the blog now :)

  104. Lauren Said,

This is for all those on Team Vienna and Anti-Ali. ABC is editing so that you like Vienna despite what she must have been doing in the house (that was edited out!). I think that she must make it far or maybe even be F1 and that is why ABC is trying to make everyone like her so not as many people are ticked off when she wins. I am Team Ali all the way! She is so cute, fun, and strong!

  105. Katie M. Said,

I thought for sure he was sending Ella home. I agree that she is like Stephanie.
What I do not get is why Jake is on here in the first place. There ought to be plenty of pretty, smart girls in Dallas. It makes me think there is something wrong with him.
I thought the one on one dates were boring. We need something new!
Can’t wait until the show this summer.

  106. KLou Said,

oops…I meant, “watches the Bachelor.” Oh! And we thought the flamingoes walking around in the background of their romantic dinner were hilarious!

  107. Rachel Said,

I’m not team Ali or Vienna and recognize there is a ton of editing. However, Ali was talking a lot behind Vienna’s back- granted she did it to her face too. However, she did a “toast” to Corey for making fun of Vienna and asked all the girls to tell Jake what she’s really like. Ummm…that’s not catty? And that’s someone to cheer for? And then she gets on Michelle for just sitting there and not toasting. Lame.

She also decided to stick up for Elizabeth and tell Vienna it was inappropriate of her to interrupt. Who made her the one on one time scheduler. I also don’t get why girls with a rose should just sit aside and not take a moment to speak with the bachelor. They are there for Jake so why not captalize on every moment you have to make a connection.

We will see how the season continues, but no matter how much editing they pulled, Ali clearly did those things. Maybe Vienna “deserved” it, but I think if you are going to be hating on someone for talking crap about others….ummmm, don’t talk crap about them. Be the bigger person. That’s all.

But I don’t really have any favorites on this show. I like to watch it all go down in flames. LOL.

  108. KLou Said,

My teenage son, who rarely watches the Bachelor, was watching with me last night and when the Ella and son part came on my son said sarcastically, “That’s probably not even her kid.

  109. KLou Said,

Sorry for repeated posts…I must have hit “post” twice!

  110. SC Said,

Ella’s accent makes me want to bang my head against a wall. Half of my family is from Kentucky (and I mean BUMPKINVILLE Kentucky) and their accents aren’t nearly as hick sounding as Ella. Betcha she’s turning it up a notch so she can come off as the sweet southern belle… BACKFIRE, baby!

  111. Katie Said,

    1) Ella had to know her son was coming on the show, she obviously signed a release form and had to agree to him flying across the country. I think she should have stood up for what is best for her son and not have him introduced to a guy who is dating 10 women at the same time…wait at least til the hometown dates…IF she makes it that far.

    2) EDIT, EDIT, EDIT…there’s a reason we’re not shown all the things Vienna is doing in the house…a whole house wouldn’t collectively be annoyed with someone, if there wasn’t SOMETHING going on.

    3) Still love Ali…I thought she was mostly straight forward and honest with her “confrontations” and didn’t get defensive or mean about it. The Vienna club was a bit weird, but obviously she has gotten under A LOT of people’s skin.

    4) Love Jake the most for being real and getting rid of Crazy Michelle…I seriously kept seeing daggers and voo doo dolls (from Lincee’s last post) when they showed clips of her. And Elizabeth’s coy, tease of a look she constantly gave Jake during their conversations…drove me crazy! Although I loved the therapist comment…

  112. noda Said,

No wonder Jake was in love with Jillian. She can’t compare to any of these “girls”. Maybe when Jill and Ed break up, she and Jake can start dating. JMO.

  113. Anony Said,

#99 – Talking behind someone’s back like Vienna supposedly did was EXACTLY what Ali was doing. She talked behind Vienna’s back the entire episode.

  114. Nancy Said,

Did anyone see Michelle on “Ellen” today? Either she’s had some serious coaching on how not to seem psycho, or the Bachelor editors did one hell of a job on her. She seemed almost…normal – damn! I was looking forward to some crazy talk! I think Ellen showed super-human strength by not pointing out Michelle’s psychotic behavior in a more pointed fashion!

  115. The Voice of Reason Said,

She was coached up. Just like those lunatics who crashed the White House party. Nice observation, Nancy.
