The Early Years
I was raised in a small East Texas town (population 1,556) that kicks off its traditional “Western Days” with a cow plop on the little league baseball field. My entire family still lives there, including my Mom, Daddy, sister’s family and Mimi who is 92-years-old. I attended all 13 years in the HISD school district where the majority of my time was spent on the football field at halftime dancing with the drill team. I was well on my way to achieving my goal of becoming a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. Eager to experience college life in a big town, I traveled the three hours to Waco, Texas to major in Communications at Baylor University—clearly a blow to the “Cheerleader” goal since this institution looked down upon dancing. But, I persevered and found a way to get my groove on. As a member of Pi Beta Phi, I was All University Sing Chairman, as well as one half of the Vivacious Violet Duo. Important responsibilities for this role included lip-syncing and dancing during stressful sorority moments. Hello people! RUSH WEEK!
The Disney Years
Disney internship interviews were being held at the University of Texas near the end of my senior year at Baylor. I’ve always had a passion for Disney World and since I had no clue as to what I wanted to be when I grew up, I headed to Austin. I gave the interviewee my 60 second spiel of the infamous “Tell me about yourself?” question and was asked to leave. I’m not sure if the short getting-to-know-you session was the result of them feeling sorry for me that I had a knee the size of a large melon due to recent ACL surgery, or the fact that I was adamant they select me to be Tinkerbell (was not kidding.) Regardless—I was hired. I worked as a Jungle Cruise skipper. You can read all about how I ended up in Adventureland here. I was at Disney World for six months and loved pretty much every second of the experience. Even when the “large woman” fell on top of me at the Peter Pan ride. Oh…it’s as funny as it sounds.
The Early Career Years
After a brief stint working at Baylor Law School, I experienced my first job rejection with the Dallas Cowboys organization. As a result, I have shunned them for 12 years. [unshun] I LOVE Troy Aikman. [shun] If you pass Texas Stadium in the future, please flip them off. Shortly after the “Cowboy Debacle,” I landed my first real job in Dallas at a public relations/advertising agency. I helped out with several accounts, mostly in restaurant, jewelry and entertainment arenas. I know, right? FUN JOB! A fun job that was really, really hard. In the five years I worked for the agency, I opened 19 Aaron Brothers, three Central Markets, two Maggiano’s and 28 Zales Outlet locations. There was a lot of event planning and press release writing.
The Dark Years
In 2002, I married my high school sweetheart. We divorced in 2005. My heart was broken, but with the help of family, friends and the arms of my loving Father, I was able to make it through to the other side. I have a more intimate relationship with the Lord as a result of this dark time and I am comforted by the realization that one day…it will all make sense.
The Houston Years
In 2005, I moved from Dallas to pursue a career at another agency in Houston. The majority of my clients are in the oil and gas industry. When people ask me what I do, I tell them I pimp rigs and subsea trees for a living. The majority of my job consists of writing five company newsletters. I am lucky enough to travel to exotic destinations like Williston, North Dakota most of the time. But occasionally, they send me overseas. I’ve been to the Ukraine, Colombia, Dubai and Mexico with my job and each adventure typically ends with great material for the website.
So Who Am I Really?
I love to dance. I feel cute when I wear my pink hard hat. I am a follower of Christ. I don’t eat meat off the bone. I had more than 5o Barbie dolls growing up. Stop judging me. I’m not good on long distance road trips unless I am driving. I am a child of the 80s. I believe the voice of Truth says do not be afraid. I am an approval addict. I am stronger because he left. While in Costa Rica, I realized it’s not all about me. I’m a little too enthusiastic about Netflix, my DVR and my iPod. I really do hate green beans.
Life is not a problem to be solved…IT’S AN ADVENTURE TO BE LIVED! Today is where my book begins. And for that, I’m truly thankful.
I just found your blog today…I am in Longview and grew up in Diana. What a small world! Your blog is hilarious, your writing great! Just wanted to say hi! Looking forward to your next Bachelor Post!
Krystal in Longview!
This is so hilarious! Love your blog! Can’t wait till next weeks.
I’m totally lovin’ this!
Glad I found your blog….now please come visit mine!
Your blog made my day! After reading your Bachelor recap I read your “about me” page and read that you live in Houston and you are a Pi Phi. Me too!! You’ve hooked another reader – congrats:)
Ring Ching!
Lincee – This site is hilarious! I’ve passed along to many, many friends already. (Please give me a shout out when you’re featured on the Today Show.) What a treat to know you! You’re awesome and the best LL Cool Ray ever. – Caroline
Lincee – I was a reader “back in the day” when the Recap was only e-mailed to your BFFs , and I was on the 10th chain of distribution from there. I tried to walk away…and for a couple of years, I succeeded. But I was intrigued by the “first single dad” bachelor and the entertaining train wreck that could come with it. I watched the first episode, and I am hooked for another season. I was pleased to Google “Bachelor Recap, Lincee” and find ihategreenbeans.com. Looking forward to another great season!
Lincee – I love your blog. I spent last Christmas and alot of time 5 years ago in San Jose, Costa Rica. My Dad goes to Kiev, Ukraine and Dubai all the time. Please say hello to Mom and Dad for me. I will make sure to see them next time I am in Hallsville.
Lincee-
You are hilarious! Your recap of the bachelor is dead on and very entertaining! Please keep it up- it brightens my day! P.S. Stephanie from AL worked at my company until her husband passed away 3 1/2 years ago, and yes she is as sweet as she is on TV.
You are too funny! I am from Mt. Pleasant TX and went to The University of Texas. I now live in Philadelphia and was told by my childhood buddy to read your blog. The two of us spend Tuesdays discussing The Bachelor and really enjoy laughing out loud while reading your words!
Love this blog….you are too funny! I worked in advertising for 8 years until I decided to stay home with my kiddos
Can’t wait to read future posts about the “Bachelor”
Lincee- it’s been a long time! I saw a link to your blog off of Facebook. LeeAnn’s page, I believe. Anyway, I absolutely love it! You are (still) hilarious and such a great writer! I will add your blog to my reader and enjoy your updates! Hope all is well with you! XOXO
Seriously, this is histerical!!! I just spit my lunch on my computer screen I was laughing so hard! Literally, you recap it perfectly! Wow! can’t wait for tonights!
Lincee,
You are too funny! I had no idea you were a Texan and Baylor girl! I have a son that is 23, living in Austin doing the music thing and a son that is 20 at Univ. of Ark. my daughter is 13. We live in Dallas and attend church at Prestonwood Baptist. We have 4 generations of Baylor alums in our family. Yrs. ago I actually worked for Zig Ziglar. I’m impressed that you were a Pi Phi, I was Independently a pre-med nerd!
Have you ever considered writing about The Real Housewives of Orange County/ Atlanta/ New York?
One of the new girls on the OC version is a Baylor graduate. Her name is Gretchen and she’s a mess! I watch this show because I don’t feel so badly about my family, we are quite normal in comparison!
I stumbled on your website looking for a bachelor blog, too damn funny! Your observartions are spot on, I’m hooked now. Although some of your jokes/references I don’t always get due to our age difference (I’m 54). But I can still seriously laugh out loud at most everything you write. Curious about your name, did your Mom have trouble spelling Lindsey back in the 80s? I have a 25 year old daughter, Lindsey!
Lincee,
So glad I found you again. I was reading you back when you sent out emails. I think it was the Bob Guinney year and Bachelorette with Meridith. So great. I lost you when I switched jobs and my husband lost the client that was emailing your recaps. I was crying I was laughing so hard at your recap. So good. So good. My husband loves it too. You rock. Good luck to you.
Love your blog! One request…please stop writing toward with an s on the end…It is incorrect.
Hey Bherman! Writer here. Every universally accepted (non-internet) language authority I consulted states that “toward” and “towards” are both acceptable and interchangeable. Apparently “toward” is preferred usage in the U.S., but “towards” is not incorrect. Thanks for making me research this.
Lincee,
My wife and I live in East Dallas (Sachse). I started reading your blog after a co-worker (another straight dude by the way) turned me on to it. I got my wife to start reading, and now we visit your website every Tuesday afternoon.
I love you take on the show, sense of humor, and writing style. If you ever decide to blog about other shows, movies, etc.. – I’ll follow.
I freaking love you.
I wanted to give you a heads-up that DeAnna will be doing a live chat this Monday @ 10pm ET on http://www.GetMarried.com immediately following the Bachelor. Here’s the link where you can tune in: http://www.getmarried.com/deanna/livechat/
As the co-host of Get Married airing weekday mornings on Lifetime Television, DeAnna will chat about what she’s doing now and give us some insight about this season….as well as her season on Bachelorette. Tune in to see what she has to say and see if she answers your questions, and check out her blog on Get Married’s http://www.BloggerBride.com.
Enjoyed reading your bio. I absolutely love your Bachelor recaps. The writing and the humor excel. They are hilarious and so accurate. I can’t believe I am addicted to this show—it is sooooo cheesy. I think Jason is a real dweeb…he never really talks. When it is his turn to talk he just sticks his tongue down someone’s throat, to steal a phrase from you.
I can’t wait to read your synopsis today!
Thanks.
We have a freakish amount in common, except I can only dream of being as funny/witty as you. Also, I am a big fan of the green bean. There is more than one person that walks that actually calls me greenbeans as a pet name. It’s originally why I looked at your site – and I’m so glad I did. My God, I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. The laughing is important, so thanks.
Multiple friends told me to read your site for your Bachelor recaps, and I enjoy them more than the show! In fact, I watch it now so that I’ll know what your posts are referring to! I’m a Texas girl, too, but an Aggie. We allow dancing, but no cheerleading, you know. Your writing is hilarious! Have you thought of writing a book? Your wit would invent a great chick lit heroine!
I love your blog! I get together with all my girlfriends on Mondays to watch the Bach as we call it, and we all read your post the next day! I think Melissa deserves a huge hug for the way she handled herself last night. My favorite line–”God, you are such a bastard.” Love it. Love your posts!!!
Our mutual friend Jennifer told me to read your blog after I found myself needing restraint so as not to fly to LA and punish some ABC execs after the latest Bachelor finale. I found your blog and I must say that I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. I told Jennifer that your website is my new happy place and have shared it with other friends. Now I find out that you are a Pi Phi so that makes you pretty perfect. (I too wear the arrow…I was a Texas Eta (Aggie) charter member). Thank you for sharing your gift of wit with us…
Sic em! Did you ever have Dr. Schlueter?
I just happened upon your blog after Googling ‘bachelorette blog’ today
and I wanted to let you know I love your Bio, particularly the “who am I really”….. I love the line ‘I’m stronger because he left.’ It’s apparent from what I’ve seen of your blog so far that you have a definite comedic writing gift, and I wish you the best!
i have a gal pal that was on this show – lets recap about the quebec city date years ago and crazy girl showed up – my gal wasnt the crazy one

Found your site after you told me to go to it. Then I hadn’t visited in a while. Then found out you gave me a shout out in your Bach recap…now I have random girls saying to me ….oh you are Lawrence from L’s blog! Ha-ha Thanks for the love. I look forward to my profile and finding my true love from your website. Oh and I got my cd today. Thanks! Good stuff for sure. You truly are an awesome friend! And of course I really like song 15
Bachelorette posts are so stinkin funny… could not stop laughing! ps. krystal, i’m from diana too!! small world!
Ever since a friend recommended your website, I have been glued to the computer anxiously awaiting your next blog about the prior episodes. All have been worth the wait. However, I just today noticed the “About Lincee” link. Very nice to meet you. We have a lot in common…love to dance, love Disney, owned/managed at least 30 Barbies, child of the 80’s (late 80’s), avid Bachelor/Bachelorette fan and I vomit in mouth a little every time I see a green bean. #28 freaks me out a little…stalking previous contestants?! A little creepy.
anyhoo..love that..I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to keep us entertained after the shows air. If you are ever in El Campo look me up!!
Lincee,
Just read your “about me”. Man! Well…it’s nice to know that someone else who is totally fabulous got turned down by the Dallas Cowboys as well. Buggers! That’s okay…I wound up getting an awesome gig with the J.F. Kennedy Center in DC instead. Stupid Cowboys…their loss! So funny the things you find you have in common with complete strangers. Love the blog every week!
Hi Lincee,
OMG, I just found your blog and I asolutely LOVED it! I HATE Wes, and I wanted to see if I could find out more information about him… what an idiot! Thanks so much for taking all the time you do to write these posts, they are absolutely hilarious! Can’t wait to read next week!
Hey Lincee – I totally agree with the fact that Wesinator needs to be Terminated!!! I sometimes wonder if the producers encourage the bachelors and bachelorettes to keep people around for dramatic effect although they all will give some lame reason for keeping these crazies in the line up. I have been following your blog for a long time. Thanks for the laughs!!!
Love the blog Lincee. And I LOVE the [shun] [/unshun]
Dwight K Schrute is amazing!
Lincee,
Many years ago, I used to get your emails with this blog. I left that job, and lost the blog…..so I stopped watching the shows. I enjoyed your blog more than I enjoyed the show…although I imagine your blog about the girl who told the bachelor that her eggs were getting old was hilarious! Imagine my delight when a freind recommended this blog on facebook! I’m glad I found your writing again…..
I used to get your e-mails forwarded to me by my friend Angela who I believe went to Mizzou with you. Anyway, I love your blog! I read it every week about the Bachelorette. Your writing is fantastic and hysterical. Keep up the good work! Love it!!!!!!!!
i stumbled upon this blog…totally cute and funny…loved your bach recap!
I stumbled onto this blog from the RealitySteve blog…. I love the way you write, so I thought I would click on the old “about Lincee” page. My word, your life sounds so much like mine although I am a native Houstonian and my “does not approve of dancing” college was in Tennessee. I, too, did the Disney experience before settling down as a teacher back home in H-Town. Love your style! Keep it up sister!
Lincee–
Keep up the great work! You are an amazing story teller! Sadly, due to my hectic work schedule, I don’t even watch the show anymore, but I still read your posts. Going on what–three years now. ha! Blessings, Lacey
Hey Lincee!
I just found your site — I was an old school follower, back in 2003 when I would get your emails forwarded to me. I haven’t read since about 2006 and feel like I have missed so much! I am honestly watching the Bachelor as I type, and the main reason was because I miss reading your recaps on Tuesdays!
I am in Texas as well, and have always loved your sense of humor. I look forward to watching this season and laughing along with you!
Just stumbled upon your blog— fellow Houstonian blogger here! I’m about to read some of your posts but it looks like we are similiar… posts about nothing with a weekly recap. Mine is Biggest Loser. Anyways, just thought I should say hello. Us Texans need to stick together.
Lincee, You made us giggle at the first Season of the Bachelor ! I asked my friend who someone received your emails from the Bachelor ReCap season 1 what ever happened to you – her sister found your blog for us! You are one of the funniest gals I know and that says a lot as some say I am the funniest gal ever : ) Kidding of course. I wish you could be paid for your blog. Hmmmm, maybe I get you on Chelsea Lately?
She is my ultimate funny gal.
Hey Lincee- sic ‘em bears! I was a chi-o from Baylor in ‘05 and I read your Bachelor posts weekly. Thank your honesty in the “About Me” section and for giving me something to look forward to mid-week after the Bachelor episode. =)
Hey Lincee!
! And also because as I’m sitting there gawking at the TV while I watch the Bachelor.. I wonder “Is anyone else thinking what I am thinking about these women?!?”
Don’t exactly know how I stumbled upon your site… but I know that the blog name hooked me
Thank you for validating my thoughts. Looking forward to following your synopses throughout the season!
This is the first season of “The Bachelor” that I have ever watched. A friend of a friend told me about your blog at lunch yesterday. I told her I hated watching because I get so embarassed for the people and she said I had to read this.
Your writing is amazing and I will continue to follow.
Best Wishes,
Patti D.
Frisco Tx.
Oh dear. I find I’m almost beginning to look more forward to reading your re-caps of the episodes than I am of watching them in the first place. The show just ended thirty seconds ago and already I’m checking to see if you’ve posted your thoughts. You write the thoughts that I’m thinking subconsciously but which I don’t quite realize I’m thinking until I read that YOU thought it, at which time I realize that that’s what I was thinking too. Excellent.
My sister referred me to your blog. The Bachelor is one of our guilty pleasures. (we know we probably shouldn’t waste time watching it, but we do anyway.) This blog is hilarious! I will look forward to Tuesdays now as well as Mondays!

Lincee – I must tell you – you Rock! I love your blog and all your references to the 80’s and movies are great! I too have a sister, had many a Barbie (and I’m not ashamed to say it – played with them until I was 12) and am a child of the 80’s (went to the movies and saw St. Elmo’s Fire and Back to the Future in the same day). I found you because of my “obsession” with the Bachelor. Thanks for entertaining all of us – I have told many peeps about your blog! Keep up the awesome job, we truly appreciate it!
Look forward to your recap of The Bachelor every week. The best!
I absolutely LOVE reading your blog about The Bachelor! Your sense of humor is the best! I think we might be sisters! You are a great writer!
I would like to to state that a professional paper writing service seems a good assistant on the path of term papers accomplishing. So, students are able use it every time they want buy essay paper.
I happened across your site while doing some research (about blogs). I am impressed by your engaging style of writing. I wish you continued success with your blog and whatever else you decided to do. Peace be with you.
Lincee!
While looking for some news on the dreaded Vienna pic, I came across your blog. What a hoot; I love it! Glad to hear an update on you — and that you’ve maintained your witty, sarcastic manner

Lincee,
Love, love, love your hilarious blog! Just getting ready to forward it to my best friend and daughter. The finale on Monday was a train wreck that we just couldn’t stop watching. I give V&J 6 months tops! Wouldn’t it be great to see all the unedited parts? I first caught your blog 2 weeks ago, gotta read the full season…big question my friend and I ponder, did Jake actually watch the full season and see all of V’s nonsense? Anyway, thanks, I’m bookmarking this blog (Love “Chuck” too…kinda sick)

Lincee, I discovered your blog a few months ago when googling some Bachelor stuff and I became and immediate fan. I’m starting to read some of your other stuff now and just love every bit of it. I had no doubts that you were a Christian, as am I – it shines through in your work somehow. That’s just amazing. Thanks for entertaining all of us with your God-given talent for writing!
