Bachelorette Emily Recap: Week 5

Watch out Bachelor Nation. ABC has officially unleashed feisty Emily and she is a force to be reckoned with. She may have lost her voice in London but she definitely found her potty mouth. Last night was was a buffet of yin and yang forces. Emily displaying southern charm vs. Emily dropping f-bombs and gang signs. Cheering One F Jef’s pending kiss while loathing Ryan’s attempts to be affectionate. Celebrating Kalon’s kick to the curb as well as mourning the fact that the luxury brand consultant is no longer on the show.

All that wrapped up in a neat little Shakespearean bow. Not bad ABC. Not bad.

Feel free to read my Huffington Post recap HERE and check back later for the longer, West Virginia hood rat version.

Why did Emily go on and on that no one had her back yet Doug DID confront Kalon about calling Ricki baggage and DID inform Emily? He should have received the group date rose for bringing the situation to her attention.

I wonder if Kalon knows former Bachelorette Erica (tiara) Rose from Houston. They’d make quite a pair 🙂

Susie, I was thinking the same thing about Doug. I wonder if she meant they didn’t have her back when she was calling him out and no one piped up and said a thing at that point? One “f” Jef is growing on me!

Loved the HuffPost recap, Lincee! And I have to say, I found last night’s episode to be the most entertaining thus far this season. I’ve liked Emily since Brad’s season of The Bachelor, but I find myself liking her more and more as this season progresses. I especially like the fact that she isn’t afraid to drop an F-bomb when the situation calls for it!

I just have to say this before I forget- in the previews for the rest of the season did anyone else think that Emily looked JUST LIKE Chelsea Handler with that ridiculous tan???

I totally love one F jeff now. He should be an actor or something. I could watch him for a long time. I think Emily is too fast for him and I kind of hope he isn’t in the final two, because I really don’t want to see his heart break. Thought the same thing about Doug: in fact was yelling it at the TV set. If I lived in West Virginia, I think I’d be offended. No one ever says, “I’m going to go all Illinois on your ass”.

Lincee, loved your recap on Huffington…but what happened to the Sean segment?? I thought that Sean and Emily really connected and he seems like a true gentleman. One F is growing on me!! So glad he finally kissed her last night, I think if he didn’t she would constantly wonder if “he was just not that into her” Can’t wait for the full recap!

Wow….I also was yelling at Emily when she kept on and on about how no one came and told her about Kalon sooner. First of all, what he said was only the day before. Second of all, as soon and Doug heard about it and they had a little round table discussion, he was off to tell Emily. I like her, but that annoyed me. Not to mention, that in all seasons past, when one of the contestants rats on another one, it usually backfires on them…Emily should have known that. And, why didn’t Doug say “we DID tell you” for goodness sakes. Anyway, that bugged me.

I really love some of Emily’s outfits last night. And, I can only wish that when I am sick I could be made to look so gorgeous.

Ryan is killing me. I’m sorry Michael never told anyone about all that stuff Ryan said about being the next Bachelor so Emily could have thrown him out too. What was that outfit with the sweater tied around his neck all about ?

Lastly, Jef had me getting frustrated with him when he didn’t kiss Emily as they were standing up watching the skyline coming down in the London Eye. I have been there and it is so perfect. Just because the announcement came that they were almost down didn’t have to stop him…although the camera man 10 feet away could have been too much! Glad he finally did kiss her. It looked nice.

Still liking Arie the most. He seems her type and they have such chemistry and he says a lot of the right things when he isn’t in front of Emily, in my opinion. So, I don’t think he is putting on an act in front of her like Ryan is. And, he was hilarious in the play as the nurse. Good sport.

Can’t wait for the recap!

I’m afraid I am becoming less and less of an Emily fan as the season goes on. Clearly her best asset is her beauty, and speaking isn’t one of them. “I know, right?” and “like . . . like . . . like.” After last night’s episode, it’s clear she is very high maintenance and lacks some maturity. Okay, she handled Kalon very effectively and sent him packing immediately, so why did she go on and on and on about the other guys not stepping up for her? And, EVERYthing seems to revolve about her being a mother–does she have no other interests or goals in life???

“lost her voice but found her potty mouth”–ahhaha! Loved it lincee! Last night’s episode was a 5-star one! Totally confused about the roller coaster ride that is Ryan–last week he was a jerk, this week he was smooth as buttah. Can we say player extraordinaire? You noticing his scarves too made me grin.

I think Sean is my top pick for her, but I think she is so into One F that he would be the best. Did you see her grabbing his hair and pulling him in when he FINNNALLLLY went in for the kill? And did you see how huge his grin was afterwards? SO CUTE!

I think Em was so upset in the moment with Kalon and trying to get a hold of her feelings that 1) she didn’t want to talk to anyone and 2) she wanted someone to blame and placed it all on the guys. Yes, Doug informed her, but…even when he went to comfort her, she wanted no part of it….which makes me think she’s really not that into Doug. I think most of all, like she said later, she started doubting herself.

Arie really grew on me with that nurse’s performance-SO funny!

Can’t wait to hear your recap!

Kalon’s goose was already cooked with the convo they had before, in which he told her to shut up until he was finished (brilliant how she turned that back on him!) and that he “always envisioned his first child being one of his own.” I wonder if Emily would have reacted so strongly if it had been, say, Arie who said it? I think she would have perhaps tried harder to find out if he really meant ill.

The person who rats out the guy who is there for the wrong reasons almost always gets thrown under the bus. Even as evidenced by last night, I’m not sure that Doug really earned himself any brownie points by being the one. As glad as Emily might be to know what Kalon said, Doug now reeks a little of eau de ratfink.

Did anyone notice at the end on upcoming episodes you didn’t see anyone resembling Doug?

Emily is very pretty, but girl needs to lay off the spray tan! She looks like an oompa loompa, and it was even more obvious traipsing around rainy London where NO ONE else had a tan!

Still loving Arie, with Sean as my second choice and Jef as my third – only because she is clearly digging him. I definitely like my men manlier though, and Sean is just a little too metro-hipster for me. She seems the most natural around Arie, though – they talk and kiss freely as if they’re already in a relationship.
