Peer Pressure

I’ve made a decision.  I’ve done my best to stay away from Bachelor spoilers.  I know Reality Steve and the Fans of Reality TV websites have put information out on the world wide web and I have refrained from checking their sites.

Then I started receiving emails and FB messages from tons of people asking my opinion on what was happening.  Although I appreciate these emailers NOT giving specific details in their messages, I started feeling pressure to check out what was going on.  I felt an obligation to IHGB readers.

Then I stopped myself  (I’m learning about boundaries in counseling) and thought, “NO!  If I want to be surprised, I should be surprised!”

Therefore, I’m going against all my approval addiction and people pleasing tendencies to say that I will do my best to NOT find out what drama unfolds until the night the episode airs.

But that doesn’t mean that those of you who like to figure out what’s going on shouldn’t have fun!

Use the comment section of THIS POST ONLY to dish the dirt.  I give you full permission to spoil away.  Just know that I (and anyone else who doesn’t want to know) will not be reading the comments.

Remember…do not read the comments if you don’t want to know conspiracy theories.

Enjoy!

If Reality Steve is right, I’ll be done with the Bachelor. If They’ve fabricated this sceme from day one, that is heartless cruel and not why anyone watches the show. I think they’ll end up shooting themselves in the foot and not getting the high rating they want next season, because of the mistakes this season.

Can someone post what exactly the scoop is… I’ve read some at the FORT and am gathering they say that he picked Melissa in New Zealand, and then changes his mind some time later, and the After the Final Rose Ceremony is him dumping Mel and proposing (?) to Molly…??? Is that about it? It that is true, I can’t believe ABC would go for it… just let him do that on his own time… people are going to be pretty P-VED!!!

Lincee- you may not see this, but you are a rock star! A class act that deserves an award for not bowing to peer pressure! Thanks for your updates, they are the best!

DC – I read it this morning and wish I hadn’t, but you’re right on except that supposedly Jason intended to pick Molly the whole time and ABC asked him to do it this way to drum up ratings. It’s a very involved story on Reality Steve’s site.

#4 Lauren – I am with you on that…while we may not believe that it really is a “love” story…we at least like the couple of months pretending that people can go on this show season after season and find “true love” (then break up 3 months later). I think it will hurt them more than it will help in the end…if this is a ploy to get the show renewed for next season (I read somewhere that hadn’t happened yet) then it is sad they went to such great lengths just for that.

If somehow reality steve is wrong (which I think in my heart of hearts I hope he is)…then we are all fools for falling into his trap.

I never really liked Jason last season…but I have way less respect for him now after all of this. How horrible to do something like that to someone you “love” on national tv. Poor Mel. She deserves better than that anyway!! I feel like they should be on the jerry springer show or something.

If I didn’t love my other ABC shows so much…I would consider boycotting the network all together.

The “big” news in short version is Jason wants to pick Molly (and I guess knew he wanted to pick Molly for most of the show) but ABC told him he had to pick another girl and then could pick Molly after the final rose. Reality Steve says that Jason went along with it for ratings and that he kept seeing Molly while he was suppose to be in a relationship with Melissa. However ABC is expected to make it look like Jason just changed his mind and not that he wanted Molly from the start.

Oh my, if what I just read was true I am so over ever watching this show again. So, I guess we will find out in a few weeks. This just makes me ill and makes me think a lot less of OHCH as well! (If it’s all true)!

I caved and read the spoiler and now I am whole-heartedly disappointed, not in ABC or The Bachelor so much, but in myself for possibly stealing the fun of speculation…from myself!
That being said, I will still believe it when I see it. I don’t know who RS is or if he is in anyway credible. I am going to try to treat this as just another crazy spoiler and enjoy the rest of the season as if I never read it.

First off, Lincee thanks for giving us this outlet!

If Steve is right then Jason is the biggest jerk of them all. And DD turns out to be not so bad compared to him. Simply disgusting, and what an example for his son?!

The thing that upsets me the most is Jason dumping Melissa on national TV, even if it is a closed set. Should not be done in front of cameras. Ugh, no class at all.

I am really dissapointed in Jason. And why would Molly want to be with a guy who did that?

Wow, I had no idea anything weird was going on until I read Lincee’s post – I am out of the loop! But after reading RS’s blog, WOW is about all I can say. I assume a certain degree of drama and craziness and fakeness will ensue during each season, but if this is true, they’ve crossed the line in cruelty.

That would be the BEST spoiler! If Molly then dumps Jason for being such a heartless sleaze.

I honestly don’t believe ABC was in on it…I think it was ALL Jason and I think when DD comes back to tell him not to pick the wrong one he still does but then apparently has agonized over his decision and realized he was in love with Molly (or he just got REALLY annoyed with Melissa and kept thinking back to the night in the tent with Molly)…After only 6 weeks of “dating” in that kind of a scene people aren’t really going to know what they’re like as a couple so this time around they had some time in between filming and when the show aired and he must have realized she wasn’t the one. I think that if ABC had known they would have hyped it up from the beginning but they only started the whole “its shocking” theme in the last couple of weeks..initially they were just trying to hype up DD coming back and that’s it. I think Reality Steve said in his You Tube videos that the second after the final rose show was JUST taped like maybe a week or a few days ago and coicidentally Chris Harrison’s preview the other night says they’ll be 2 AFTR ceremonies and one of them is really sensitive blah blah blah so I really don’t think ABC was in on it…I mean they would have capitalized on this from the ver beginning. Don’t get me wrong though b/c I think they are loving it…well Fleiss is but I’m sure Chris Harrison isn’t. Anyway that is just my two cents.
