Soundtrack of My Life: Latest, greatest, favorites-Part 2

Some say that I have an obsession with making mixed tapes. I prefer to think of it as a spiritual gift. And because I am so dedicated to stretching said gift, I’ve started a monthly post which I call “Soundtrack of My Life.”

If you missed my inaugural post, you can read it HERE.

My second post was about Texas music.

If you have a playlist idea, please send it my way. Compiling a list of songs to fit a certain criteria fills my soul. That’s not weird. It’s endearing. It would be an honor to make the soundtrack of your road trip, a baby shower or your pending surgery.

What? You don’t have an anesthesia playlist? That’s weird.

While you figure out if I’m one card short of a full deck, take a look at my latest, greatest, favorites. Enjoy!

1. “Bang, Bang” by Ariana Grande, Jessie J. and Nicki Minaj

I Shazam’d this song 37 times before I finally purchased it. I almost have the rap part memorized. Let the record show that I haven’t gone as far as writing down the lyrics so I can memorize them with accuracy and speed, they way I once did with “Vanilla Ice.” I’m an adult. I Google the lyrics now. Duh.

2. “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson, featuring Bruno Mars

This is a no-brainer. You must own it. I dare you not to car dance.

3. “Don’t It’ by Billy Currington
funny entertainment blog-Don't It

Billy is my boy. Any day now, we’re going to cross paths. I’m pretty excited for that to happen so he can go ahead and start falling in love with me. “Don’t It” is my latest obsession in a long string of Billy Currington obsessions, which include: “Let Me Down Easy,” “Must Be Doin’ Something Right” (I’ll say), “People Are Crazy,” “Love Done Gone” and “I Gotta Feeling.”

4. “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran
funny entertainment blog-Ed Sheeran

I think Ed Sheeran is extremely talented. This is a flirty, romantic song, which is obviously my sweet spot. Do you think Billy would be jealous if I slow danced to this song with him? Do you think he would prefer a romantic song from his own collection? Decisions, decisions.

5. “Just the Two of Us” by Will Smith
funny entertainment blog-Will Smith

I was working on a playlist with the number “2” as the theme. When I searched for this song in my iTunes, I did not find it. TRAVESTY! How could I not own this song for this many years? I have to admit that I feel a lot better knowing it has a home on my computer.

Now it’s your turn! I want to hear your playlist ideas! Sound off in the comments section. No pun intended.

I adore the Thinking Out Loud song…Except one thing. Seventy….couldn’t he have said ninety. It took me until I was 50 (now) to find the love of my life….Seventy is not long enough!

How about a “dance in your room when nobody is watching” playlist?

You should do an 80’s/90’s Christian Music playlist. I feel like you probably listened to some Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith back in the day. And also a workout playlist. I always need good songs for running.
