It pays to be a Pepper
If you’ve followed my website for more than five minutes, you probably know that I’ve been drinking Dr Pepper since I was a little girl. I blame my Mama for that. She started drinking Diet DP a long, long time ago…because it was the preferred beverage of Elvis Presley.
We probably drank Dr Pepper while eating peanut butter and banana sandwiches with “Aloha from Hawaii” serenading us in the background.
Having a long and distinguished history with Dr Pepper, it’s not surprise that I am willing to pay homage to its delectable 23 flavors on my new website. Here is what I announced earlier this week:
Cute Boys and Dr Pepper. I know. It sounds amazing, right? It’s simple really. Send me a picture of a cute boy drinking Dr Pepper and I’ll post it. Got a cute kid who loves Dr Pepper? Send it to me. Know a hot guy who drinks DP while he’s mowing the lawn? Send it to me. See a gorgeous stranger buying a case of Dr Pepper at the grocery store? Secretly take a picture with your phone and email me.
Yes you will get credit on my website. Yes Diet Dr Pepper counts. No, Dr Pepper is not paying me to do this. Yes we will make a 2012 calendar of the best photos. Yes I’m drinking a Dr Pepper now. Yes I’m working on getting Harrison to submit a photo. (Seriously…how cool would that be? We have to make that happen.)
It’s time to get creative and send me your pictures. I have a feeling this section will keep us busy during Bachelor hiatus until January. Who’s with me?!?
Here’s where it gets good.
Approximately two hours after posting my recap, I received an email from Christine. She works in the Public Relations department at Dr Pepper. Not only is her job the coolest ever, she’s a fan of the show and IHGB. She was excited to hear about “Cute Boys and Dr Pepper” and offered this as an incentive:
“We’d like to throw a little something into the mix – a year’s supply of Dr Pepper for the photographers of the 12 photos chosen for your 2012 calendar (fancy spin-the-bottle table not included.)”
My thoughts after reading this message:
– SHUT UP!
– A year’s supply of Dr Pepper for my readers? SHUT UP!
– “Fancy spin-the-bottle tabled not included.” (She’s funny!)
– Oh crap. I was joking about the 2010 calendar. Note to self: use different font when being sarcastic on website.
– FREE DR PEPPER? SHUT UP!!!
After a quick phone call to confirm that Christine wasn’t playing a cruel joke on me, I can confirm and announce with great excitement that this is legit people! Send me your “Cute Boys and Dr Pepper” photo and you just might score a year’s supply of Dr Pepper, courtesy of the coolest beverage distributor on the planet.
Submit your photos to me via my email link on the right of the page. Dr Pepper and IHGB will select five finalists each month to post on the site. One winner will be chosen each month. If your photo is not selected as a finalist, have no fear! Your photo will be eligible the next month!

Woo Hoo!!! I don’t even drink Dr. Pepper, but a year’s supply of free anything can’t be bad. They just may gain a new customer out of this. How awesome!!
Now I just have to find me a cute boy and a dr. pepper. Wonder if my 5 year old son would qualify?? Because of course he is the cutest boy I know 🙂

Will be pimping out my 7 year old son with some DDP. He’ll be geeked b/c he usually does not get to drink “coke.” (Yep from the south…it’s all “coke.”) alas, I had a DDP at lunch yesterday but no cute guys to go along with it!

So cool! Love diet dr. pepper…and regular but after doing weight watchers, fell in love with the diet stuff a couple of yrs ago. have a great big 30 can box in my garage right now. and since i am typing about it, i’m going to pop open one!! love the blog, thanks for all the great laughs over the past seasons!!
