Who knew that Mama’s episode on my IHGB podcast would be so popular?!  So many of you have commented on her accent and her stories about Sea Breeze and baking. I’ll let you in on a little secret: It was so hard to edit! The woman has mastered the art of a dramatic pause and it’s just long enough for the listener to think, “Did I accidentally hit pause?”

But it was worth all two hours it took me to clean it up. Thanks, Mama!

In celebration of Mother’s Day this weekend, I whipped up a fun playlist as a salute to all the mamas out there who are making it through the last weeks of school. Or the ones who have newborns crying all the livelong day. Are you an empty nester? This one is for you, too!

I think it’s important to note that some of these songs aren’t warm and fuzzy. For example, when L.L. Cool J. tells us that “Mama said knock you out,” I’m not insinuating that my Mama is an advocate for people knocking other people out. Additionally, I don’t have a pistol packing Mama like Bing Crosby sings about later in the playlist.

Although Mama may have one hidden somewhere that I don’t know about. Knowing Linea, she probably does.
