Saw it. Loved it.

I know this is another New Moon post, but just hang with me here.  I promise it’s the last one.  And it’s 11:14 p.m. as I type this and I am frantically trying to post something before midnight so my National Blog Posting Month promise will not be tarnished.

Top 10 List of Everything I Liked About New Moon:

1.  TEAM JACOB

2.  When the girls in the audience screamed at the top of their lungs when he whips off his shirt to fix Bella’s head gash.  (I was one of those girls.)

3.  Can I get an AMEN for Paul?  We need more of him in Eclipse.  And more Wolf Pack for that matter.

4.  When Jacob walked through the rain with short hair and the girls in the audience screamed at the top of their lungs.  (I was one of those girls.)

5.  Anything Chief Swan said.

6.  Emmett to Edward, “Dating an older women.  Nice.”

7.  Jane:  “This might hurt a little.”

8.  Jacob getting ticked off at Mike when he was about to kiss Bella the first time at the movie theater.

9.  The fact that Jacob and Bella never actually kissed.

10.  Even though I’m Team Jacob, Edward stepping out into the sun in Italy was pretty special.  Even though his abs were fake and spray painted on.

New Moon & Twilight both came out on my birthday weekend. A coincidence? Possibly. Or maybe God’s birthday gift to me in 2008 and 2009 was a giant screen filled with beautiful, shirtless boys. Happy. Birthday. To. Me.

And I’ll always be Team Edward, but I wouldn’t mind touching Jacob’s 17 abs.

I have always been firmy Team Edward, but after New Moon, I’m totally divided……I mean, Jacob was ridiculously hot in this movie…..and even though I knew they wouldn’t kiss, I was DYING for Jacob to kiss Bella. I may or may not have shouted “KISS HER” at the top of my lungs during the movie……..

I’m team Edward all the way however I was pleasantly surprised by how great Taylor Lautner was – is it weird that I’m 36 and lusting after a 17 year old??? I mean, the kid isn’t even LEGAL!!!!

I loved all of that too, although there was some definite cheese and bad acting. In defense of Edward/Robert, as a Team Edward, I read an article by one of the extras in the Italy scene. She said Edward’s abs were real but b/c of the makeup you couldn’t see them as well so they did that to add the definition back. It was a pretty cute article. She is a “Twilight Mom” and said most of the extras were girls and women. She said the first time Edward stepped out and revealed his chest everyone turned their heads and there was a collective gasp and they had to cut.

Still Team Edward (and will always be). Jacob is a cute kid, but will always have the baby face – even if it does top an incredibly buff bod. That said, he is one of the better actors in this movie (which is not saying much, of course).

The surprising (or maybe not so surprising, because the same thing happened in the book) thing about New Moon is the very limited amount of screen time for Edward. Can’t wait until the next installment — we’ll be back to the way it should be — all about Edward!

Loved Jacob. I hope those Edward abs were real! Rushing to Bath and Body works to get the Twilight Shower Gel and Lotion so I can attract a pack of wolves.

I’m glad to see that I’m not the only woman who is lusting after an under age, buff “kid” like Taylor. But I will say I enjoyed this movie better than Twilight, no matter how bad the acting was at times. I liked how the colors looked real, there wasn’t a dull overlay to the movie. I also like how Bella narrated by emails to Alice. It helped the movie go on with the story line. Oh, and I’m Team Edward, but Team Jacob is not far behind…

Two things that stuck out to me in the movie: (1) all of the Cullens got new and much more noticeable gold contacts – you could see ’em coming from across the room, and (2) the producers obviously had a much bigger make-up budget because the Cullens didn’t have quite the “French mime” look they had in the first movie (although, they still need to work on toning down Edward’s lipstick – heh)…

Stumbled across your blog, so sorry if these are unwanted comments. I will agree that Taylor was a cute boy in the movie. But other than that, this was one of the worse movies of all time. I loved Stephanie’s books, but the movies (both of them) just ruined it for me. Maybe that is all that she wrote it for though, was teenagers to love and not really judge. But no matter my thoughts, the movie numbers and $$$ spoke for themselves. I just think that so many people hyped it up, that it would be embarrassing to write about how horrible it was!!!

I also want to say that the way that S. Meyer wrote it and how fantastic the last book was, there is no way that K. Stewart will pull it off. She may be a great actress (not judging on this movie though), but I hope they don’t try and make the last book a movie!

100% Team Edward!! Not that Taylor aka Jacob isn’t hot but after reading all of the books (I plowed thru 3 of them in the last week and a half) it just has to be Edward. #12 – Ann, I just finished reading the last book and I couldn’t agree with you more. I’d like to see it made into a move just to complete the series but Kristen is such a bad actress that I can’t even imagine her pulling off the part in the Breaking Dawn (IMHO).

I too heard that Edward (Rob’s) abs are real and that he worked out a lot to get ripped but they had to enhance them with make-up. Drawback of being a pale vampire I guess.

I never considered myself “Team” anything…I was evenly divided when it came to Eclipse, but it was just natural that she end up with Edward. No big deal. No team to really choose.

Then I saw New Moon.

I’m not sure why, but looking at it with a cool eye (and tearing my eyes away from those abs) it seemed like Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner had unbelievably good chemistry in this one. And I know that Pattinson didn’t have very many scenes, but he and Kristen hardly lit it on fire when they were together. Again, I don’t know whether that’s a condition of him not being in the movie much, or what, but by the end of the movie I very strongly felt like screaming, “You belong with Jacob, HELLO!!”

Loved this movie much more than Twilight, but some parts felt very slow, and also I have to say this – the music was terrible! The score was bland and generic, and the other songs they used just didn’t add much. Which was a shame, because I loved Twilight’s score almost as much as I loved the indie rock they chose as well. For me, the music saved Twilight, and the music definitely detracted from New Moon.
